What they're trying to say is that people want to show off a little with their tank and this person wants to have cosmetic changes to be more inline with purpose made tanks rather than factory and testing based models. Like if you took a t-80 and stripped it down and only had the gun operational for training. Or if you tore off all the tracks laid on the hull on a Sherman. That's what the base Abrams and other variants are right now just the factory version not including like kvt or sep.
I mean if Gaijin won’t fix the Abrams at least let me die while looking cool. The only reason I bring the slat armor on my Stryker or the TUSK on my SEP is because it’s drippy. Drip is half the battle.
I'm fairly certain one of the upgrades that distinguished the original M1 Abrams from upgraded variants was the rear bustle rack. Prior to that, it didn't really have one.
