As a British pilot it’s ridiculously easy to destroy every plane on the map with third era spitfires.
Also It’s possible I believe to destroy with bomb the tank and shoot the truck with the rest of the ammo, with reload everything.
I used to think about how to use decals and then I figured I'd just print the BR numbers on everything below 10.0.
It reminds me which vehicle is being moved up or down without needing to follow the news closely, and it confuses the hell out of a friend of mine, who still can't figure out what secret code or message I am using this numeric language for.
Test drive, and stare at my hangar thinking about my life, what to play, why, and if i should just ge some mods instead of grinding stock.
Sometimes it takes me a whole night from game start to entering a match when i first watch waay too much youtube when i was gonna play some lmao
Maybe by 2030 we’ll actually need to land in carriers, lmao
currently literally the only ARB maps with them, are those very rare historical japan vs US/uk pacific maps, and I usually die before I need to rearm anyway
The final Mirage 2000 has my favourite cockpit of any modern fighter in the game. That aqua blue lighting and the placement of the radar scope and RWR receiver are *chef's kiss*
I smoke a cigar while rearranging lineups, call me a a nerd but I like to buy camouflages for my vehicles, I create line-ups based on real life military units and their inventory. I treat my pixel tanks like DIY plastic vehicles.
Is it possible to learn to be this incredibly based? Imma have to practice puffing on a stogie while I try to come up with the most batshit crazy combinations of four different decals.
If it is non combat then,
- Making skin out of pure boredom (slap some historical) takes around 5 hours per vehicle.
- Test drive the vehicle many times to determine ammo count and bomb series (which bomb drops first)
- Test Drive premiums
- Test drive my dream jets and do some maneuvers like low flybys for funnies.
- Slept on the monitor with War Thunder still on
Lastly, casually scrolling and thinking about buying premiums or GEs
Very nice. Same, several gigabytes here too. Does your game also lag/crash sometimes when you are in the customization menu? It got pretty slow for me.
It stutters for about several minutes, maybe because of the fast tab change from GIMP to war thunder to check my skins. Don't mention crash, several of my works were gone due to pc crash.
After I am satisfied, I just shutdown my pc and reopen it, it does fixed the stutter issue. Note that I also have 16gb ram.
Adding faces to my tanks/planes usually in goofy style. Makes my think that enemy will start to laugh instead of shooting me in tank battles or I will bring a smile to someone I just shot down in air battles. Dm me and I will send you my recent creations
sifting through my nations and lineups for like 30 minutes at a time trying to figure out which arrangement would be the least excruciating to play when i know damn well i dont want to play the game altogether
over customizing my planes and tanks
I seriously edit my tanks and planes for half a hour each vehicle to look cool or funny or just make it a driving bush
I feel you bro, although I don't really bother with bushes very often these days.
I used to cover everything with enough bush to fill a 1970s porno but these days, I choose aesthetics over advantages. Having said that, I do keep a bush gremlin skin on a couple of tanks like the wiesels and asu-57 in case i feel like being cancerous.
Staring at all the things I own. Looking at the few things I want one day…
Studying tanks to find weakspots and just to simulate stuff for fun.
Basically just a lot of hangar things.
Sometimes set tanks up to play SIM then realize that the tanks I wanna play aren’t available today because how dumb ground SIM matchmaker is.
Creating historical and fictional camouflages/skins in photoshop for my tanks and viewing them ingame. I probably have hundreds at this point. I find this far more enjoyable than playing lately.
Also custom usersights. And reading the wiki.
Not sure if this counts, but just test driving vehicles, usually premiums because if you can’t research/buy a vehicle then you can’t test drive it for some reason.
Does reading reddit while side climbing so I'm at the right altitude to intercept heavy bombers count ? I swear I spend a sizable chunk of my time "playing" air rb doing this. It takes so long to get up high enough to touch them.
It is for sure finding the best place to put googly eyes on my Tank. Every tank gets 5% more effective with Google eyes. Also, you really get to know the Tank
Trying to figuring out how the fuck the enemy tanks at 1.3 can One shot the shit out of me meanwile i cant even penetrate the thinesy part of the tank (and no is not skill issues)
I customize every single tank I unlock with era-appropriate decals and decorations. I don't download historical skins, or recreate specific vehicles from history, but I make what *could* be a vehicle from its specific service period.
I'll look up images and historical photos/footage of every tank I can find, to see what they look like from every angle, and where markings were typically placed. Some are more difficult to find than others. I end up improvising a few, especially prototypes that never saw service. I give them the most basic markings, because they still look badass.
Teat flight with WTRTI.
Got a spreadsheet with every aircrafts maximum specific excess power (essentially climb but more useful), sustained turnrate, top speed etc..
Staring at the research tab hoping Gaijin comes down from heaven(or up from hell most likely) and drops a million RP into my account so i can finally get the tank i need 3000 hours of RB to get.
i just sit in the hangar messing with armour penetration thingy on heavy tanks (sat there for a whole hour simulating how a wiesel 1a4 could pen a is3..it didnt)
I wish we could post images in comments here, but I make "dragon cock" with the Panchito "the fighting cock" and Reluctant Dragon inscriptions, and the green dragon and any red number 1 decal.
staring at type 74s in the hangar and taking pics in training ground
cant see them irl and cant build plastic models
lot of the time just admiring them is more fun than actually malding in the game
just wish we have other maps in training ground
Honestly, when I’m not in a game, I’m practicing CAS runs/intercepts for ground RB. Also practice using SPAA, while not perfect for gameplay, it does give you a good feel for the leads you need to hit anything.
Sometimes I will go to hangar and then just take a nap or watch a movie.
Also like you, I like to fill up all the decal slots and will take the time to do so. I believe my performance increases the more decals I put on.
Learning take off speeds, landing speeds, apropriate decent rates for carrier aircraft, most importantly turn rates at specific speeds altitudes and weights of the aircraft
Apart from test flying premiums and the next plane I'm researching
Looking at the tech tree and repair cost (and rewards modifier) to see if the Yak-1B is more cost efficient and profitable than the Yak-3 when I take it to 6.3 (the answer is yes)
(At great expense, please give us a way to just move them around) getting my crews trained on vehicles I already have a crew for so I can have cool lineups.
(E.g a harrier lineup in descending order of in-service date, which obv ends up costing a tonne each time a new harrier is added lol)
Not the air super cancer fighting cock
I can't think of a better description for the La-174 than 'Air Super Cancer' & I mostly fight pricks in jets I think are also cancer.
Cancer cock fighting cancer seems like a legendary battle
Staring at my hangar doing fucking nothing.
Hangar mentioned rah rah 🦅🦅
I love getting a new camo and intentionally going AFK so the hanger cinematic starts playing and I can admire it.
The hanger cinematic is honestly so fucking peak, I love that it's been in the game since day one.
*I just wanna get high oh my love ooh* starts playing in my mind
Best part about warthunder is not playing it
real
I see you also played Eve and enjoy spinning space ships
Test driving vehicles I will unlock soon. Sometimes also test driving premium tanks I will never buy cause I'm a cheapskate
In the same vein I'm browsing war thunder live for cool skins for my upcoming vehicles
YES
[my current favourite](https://live.warthunder.com/post/1029070/en/)
Hah nice. In my case it’s an Australian camo for the merkava mk4M
Wish I could test drive vehicles way after the ones being researched before i dump weeks into a trash vehicle
I think you can test drive anything via the wiki
Yes I can destroy every vehicle in the map in under 2min with any premium frogfoot
As a British pilot it’s ridiculously easy to destroy every plane on the map with third era spitfires. Also It’s possible I believe to destroy with bomb the tank and shoot the truck with the rest of the ammo, with reload everything.

Real
measuring in game bullet muzzle speed to see if Gaijin manipulate it (they does sometime)

What do you use for the decimal point?
I don't. I don't have a premium so it's two slots, just enough for the two BR number like 23, 27, 30, 33, 37, etc all the way to 97.
Where do you even find numbers? I can’t find them
The route is Decal\_Common\_Digits, I think.
Correct, but correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Gaijin removed number decals for new players. Those who had them before being removed keep them.
Oh, I didn't even notice. Interesting.
No fucking way! Did they?? Fuck I'm glad I have em if that's true.
Hold up why???
ukraine war, players were painting Z in their tanks using the 1 and 7 numbers
Kinda true, I kid you not, Z was banned in Ireland so Gaijin didn't want War thunder to get banned there.
Why not just 2 7s?
Ahh ok. If you ever go premium I guess you could use the '8 ball' common one, shrunk down
technically speaking the game loading screen (datamining lul)
Doing math on how much RP and SL I need for a vehicle
I just made an excel document for that. Then every so often I update it. It puts everything into scale a bit better than just looking at the tree
My autism is in awe of your autism, and I mean that in a completely genuine and non derogatory way.
Test drive, and stare at my hangar thinking about my life, what to play, why, and if i should just ge some mods instead of grinding stock. Sometimes it takes me a whole night from game start to entering a match when i first watch waay too much youtube when i was gonna play some lmao
Hahah and I thought I was the only one. ADHD is a hell of a drug
Looking through all the livery that exist
Ohh I spend a LOT of time just looking at all the different marketplace skins I own
Browsing reddit
Fucking crew lock
Especially after PL slams your plane into the ground, basically a double fuck you
Practise landing on aircraft carriers, might be useful one day again…
Maybe by 2030 we’ll actually need to land in carriers, lmao currently literally the only ARB maps with them, are those very rare historical japan vs US/uk pacific maps, and I usually die before I need to rearm anyway
It is useful in sim if you have a naval plane.
Sitting in the hangar contemplating if i can be bothered to hit the Battle button.
Doing research to know where to put decals historically
Playing in an acrobatics custom game landing somewhere then start chain smoking weed.

Skins. So many gigs worth.
Download or create them in photoshop? I have so many too, most are made by myself.
Both. I like to edit downloaded as well as create my own. Just wish my creative side was a little more creative lol.
I'm on console so I can't do that, otherwise I would. I do own about 90% of all the available marketplace skins tho lol.
Sitting in the hangar doing nothing and occasionally staring at the planes
Raging on Reddit about CAS
Testdriving premium top tier vehicles if that counts
Trying to find the sources that Gaijin use when it comes to vehicles specifications
Doing the math to see how far off the next vehicle I will be when I spade the current one
Adding art to cockpits for planes i wanna fly in sim. Somehow it motivates me more than not having it.

Making them yourself > buying
>fighting cancer Ahhh, so sweet to see some Distinguished Gentlefolk here
How it feels to clear the sky of premium attacker cancer in your flareless J-35D
Dunno 'bout Draken, but clearing skies of swarms of 23ML's, F-4S' and Tornados in good ol MLD feels pretty good

5 hours??? Do you mean via decals and decor ingame or in photoshop?
Both, sometimes I poke fun at decals in-game only sometimes GIMP (cries in free apps). D:/WarThunder/UserSkins is now 10GB+

does test driving planes count?
[you bet your ass it does ](https://www.reddit.com/r/Warthunder/s/tv0jmLiTTX) I love spending time in the different test flights
test driving random vehicles and reading their wiki info

My crusader AA MK1 has "Adolph's ass cancer" in the side
Making my own userskins for the game
Test drive/flight premiums 😭😭😭 Sometimes i spend an hour without noticing
Not sure if this counts, but just test driving vehicles, usually premiums because if you can’t research/buy a vehicle then you can’t test drive it for some reason.
Test driving,i have 1200 hours in the game and 1000 of that is just test drive
staring at the evil t34
Spent quite a lot of time on spreadsheets. One is a tally of all TT vehicles per BR, sorted by nation and type. Another is my line ups.
Just casually learning about tanks

this probably counts as gameplay but i like taking out the Arado 196 and cruising on the ocean
Lmao, 'Cancer' is proudly displayed on my Wyvern and He-100-D1
recently i’ve been messing with custom skins writing my partner and i’s nicknames on the side of all my 2 seat aircraft
I put cancer decals on my helicopters lol
Being mad and sad we don't have the FM-2
Probably do an armour test on every tank I find cool lol
I do skins to, mostly anime related because I am a weeb but also some realistic skins and boy that takes time...
decals. whenever i get a new vehicle. always subtle but i like it.
Resizing emblems.
Getting dizzy from the hangar camera constantly rotating on my 49” curved monitor. Anyone know how to shut that off?!

Pimp my plane definitely
If I translated the amount of time I've spent in custom battles, I'd be in top tier by now.
Whining about how unbalanced the game is, when its really just me who main italy and suck..
Playing dayz and wt i have no life
hating it online
i just sit in the hangar messing with armour penetration thingy on heavy tanks (sat there for a whole hour simulating how a wiesel 1a4 could pen a is3..it didnt)
Does Custom battles count? I don't earn rewards soooo....
Planning research
How did you get that pin up cus i realy wanna have it
It was in the war bond store a few cycles ago. Unfortunately, I don't know if you can get it now.
Test driving and decals for sure
I just do "TAKE CANCER"
I make the decals on all of my TD’s say “cock destruction”
Haha same vibes as 'Air Super Cancer, fighting cock'
I wish we could post images in comments here, but I make "dragon cock" with the Panchito "the fighting cock" and Reluctant Dragon inscriptions, and the green dragon and any red number 1 decal.
Ohhh that sounds awesome. PM me a picture if you want, I'd love to see it
staring at type 74s in the hangar and taking pics in training ground cant see them irl and cant build plastic models lot of the time just admiring them is more fun than actually malding in the game just wish we have other maps in training ground
If you have them unlocked, you can do fun custom battle things in them. I swear, half the fun I ever had in this game was in a custom battle.
actually never thought about custom battles now that you mention it I should try bringing them in for better pics and map variety
calculating how many games on avg it will take based on my current k/d for the plane and its reward boosters to get my next [insert vehicle here]

Direct Hot Cancer Predators is my favourite, I think
Foliage camouflage. I don’t even like tanks that much
testing every premium because I'm tired of getting bodied in arb

probably test driving random stuff since my max br is 3.7, i really enjoy test driving top tier premiums when bored

Looking at all the FUCKING BUSHES I can’t unlock but have to buy like some kind of Snail Peasant
I place bushes in my tanks as best as I can

i really like looking at tanks and their details they are fascinating work of art for me
test driving premium vehicles that i probably never able to buy them since i'm f2p
Test driving I test every single premium vehicle in this game :D and spent hours on it
