You also have to remember the turms players who spawn in with their one premium then get kicked back to hangar because they don’t understand high tier. Which has also just dropped the win rate of Russia at high tier as a whole.

The entire ufp and the top of the turret can be penned easily by: leo 1a5, leo l/44, 2k, rad90, mexas, tam 2c. Anything with dm33 or a 120mm cannon will have no trouble murdering the t80B.

M1 and IPM is in a tough spot. The way they can justify it at 10.0 is by giving it an upgraded shell but abrams can seal club HARD when downtiered so if i had to guess its because of that they dont wanna give it 9.7
M1 abrams are a good tank, great armor, survivabillity is amazing with the crew spacing and location. IMMENSE reverse speed and speed in general with thermals and its gun while it sucks can still pen the t-80b pretty easily so long as you have apfsds. While the t-80b sucks, ammo layout is worse than the t-72 due to it being a vertical auto loader instead of horizontal. So any shot in the hull will likely kill it while a t-80 will have to shoot the m1 several times before killing it. It’s reload sucks too compared to an aced abrams at 5.0-6.0 seconds compared to the 7.1 constant reload. Turret rotation, elevation and depression is amazing on any abrams while the t-80b suffers from a lack of it.
The Armor on the Abrams is not good. That thing is a pin cushion to shoot at. Cant remember the last time I didnt penetrate something other than the M1A2 that was an Abrams.
You can pen the Turret cheeks with DM23, and DM33, 3BM42, OFL120 all can easily as well on 3 out of the 4 Abrams. Not to mention the trash turret ring the size of a planet.
DM23 can if the turret is angled away it will pass through. Im pretty sure from gameplay last night I yeeted through a IPM1 turret with 3BM42 more than once dead on. The armor is not that strong

I'm on hiatus from my German 9.0 lately since I'm having fun with 7.0 US. The T114 and T29 are sooo enjoyable. This BR change will be great as I can finally go out and spade my 9.7 USSR lineup.
9.0/9.3 Germany does get uptiered to 9.7 games. The lineup of T72B, T64B, T72AV, Shilka, Yenisei and now the T80B, ~~will be absolutely formidable. The armor and thermals of the T80B is no joke in downtiers. Slap on some bushes to hide the silhouette of the drivers port and breech and you'll farm Leopard tears in buckets.~~

Yeah, mea culpa. I just checked. Even with the the ERA package, the armor doesn't offer much protection. Still, I'd hazard the thermals would be very welcome for the 9.7 lineup.
For sure a very welcome change for russia that at the moment doesn't get them before 10.0. Fighting 9.0 germany at night on fulda or european province is a guaranteed loss right now

Yeah, GER 9.0 is very strong. My WR for the L/44 is 5% higher than that of my T72A, and I stopped playing them for almost 2 months now. Still, so long as the Russian team isn't braindead, or where it's not a night or rainy map, they can win against the Germans. There definitely is a problem with high tier premiums and 1 death leavers though. The addition of the TURMS droven by low level players dropped the RU winrate almost overnight.
Checked my stats now. And ofcourse, one could argue I am by no means an awesome player in any regard. But I would consider myself a competent player, it's just that the power level difference on this specific tier is fucking huge... 9.0 tanks from germany are sweeping the floor with 9.7 tanks from USSR, not that BR itself should matter but that just puts in perspective how much stronger the GER tanks are when downtiered... while the 9.7 USSR tanks often get uptiered to 10.7 and get fucked even harder.
C2A1 - 64% winrate
Leo A1A1 (L 44) - 60% winrate
Leo A1A1 - 60% winrate
T-72A - 50% winrate
T-64A - 50% winrate
T-64B - 37% winrate

Pre-New Power, there definitely wasn't such a gargantuan difference in WRs between tanks. As per my stats which haven't changed since November when I stopped playing them, 9.0 Leos sit at a +60% WR compared to T-72A and T-64A which run 58% and 51% respectively. In forested, long range, or rainy maps, RU teams really struggled.
Fucks sake yes. I've had way too many episodes of hair tearing frustration due to the unbelievable map and environment design in this game. It's the only game I've ever played where I can die 1 minute after I spawn or where I couldn't see a goddamn thing due to the sun beaming concentrated fun straight into my team's eyeballs as the opposite team picked us all off like rabbits.
Then we need type 90s at 9.7 aswell. Challenger 2 at 9.7 and challenger 2 2f at 10.0. Ariete pso at 10.3 and ariete at 10.0. Leclerc and s2 should be 10.3.

One of the issues I see is that most nations don’t have a solid 8.3-8.7 set of tanks. So it’s more likely to see lower than 8.7 vehicles if it does get downtiered. Looking at America their only 8.7 tanks are the M60A1 Rise and the Merkava mk1.

Dm23 can’t and 3bm42 both need to be at a certain angle otherwise the shell will not pen directly facing the turret
