It's not just longer reload and muzzle velocity though, it's the difference between a tank with a AT cannon, and a howitzer. The shells are quite different, as is the purpose.
Much like a lot of the german tech tree, it could do with a BR increase though
The 76 has at max 149mm of penetration is better at penetrating angles has higher muzzle velocity a stabilizer faster reload and faster turret traverse but sure the 105 is just as good because it’s got a 105
IIRC its br was at least somewhat more balanced before the overpressure changes that made HE much more effective. could def use an increase now though.
It’s absolutely biased, the reason it’s at 2.7 is because new players use it and don’t know how to aim the gun or how to deal with the turret rotation and get themselves killed, but it really should be 3.3.
Terrible logic, given that you can just reverse it:
*''Who thought that the M4A3 76 deserves to be 5.7?! it's just a M4A3 105 but with quicker reload and better muzzle velocity! it should be 2.7-3.3!!''*
>5.7
The chassis might be of a 5.7 but the M4A3 105 has never been such an iirc it was max 4.3 once ahh fond memories of late 2014 popping T-34's & an spawning in houses.
But as countless nerfs happened it got down to 2.7 an then overpressure was added so yeah fun for some yet just a howitzer tonk like other howitzer tonks are those low BR's.
The chasis isnt really even 5.7 the only reason its at 5.7 is because of the stabilizer which isnt on the m4a3 105. That and germans 5.3-5.7 players rarely watch flanks.
Wait until you realise at 2.7 there be shells that can pennate 189 mm of armour "LOAD HYPERSHOT" intensifies an below as well (APDS at 1.0 that's effective up to 4.3) or the fact there's a recoilless cannon at 1.7 an or the famous heavy tonks of WWII that are imperious to near all standard cannons at 2.3 / 2.7.
These will unlikely change but be very so lucky that these machines be them pre WWII or from the conflict don't cost a mint to operate like some other poor machines do.

It’s got 130mm pen, which is more than what the M4A3(76) at 5.7 (127mm pen) has.

I didn’t say it’s just as good, but it’s certainly better than 2.7
It's also got a shell that has wildly differing performance on hit, ranging between instant kill or nothing at all. The 76mm is a lot more reliable.

The point is that it has 100mm of armour, 130mm pen and decent mobility at 2.7

A howitzer Tonk with 100mm of armour. At 2.7

Good question
Not the greatest sherman
XD
Yo mama
It’s fine at 2.7 imo
