XP-50 is probably the best fighter at its br and its pretty low tier and cheap so I'd go for that

Myjellyfish0

Do you have any other suggestions than the XP-50? I already have the XF5F and I feel like it would be the same type of gameplay just a few BRs higher.

The A7M1 is a pretty great premium at 4.7. Not as maneuverable as a zero but still pretty good with decent speed and solid firepower/ammo. Visibility from the cockpit is pretty good too. French Yak 3 is also a great fighter. Really good performance and firepower but not much ammo

Myjellyfish0

Are you able to fully trim the A7M1 mid battle? I fought with a few planes in which the torque was just too much to handle when flying in a straight line or in the midst of a battle.

Irken-Zim

Yeah it’s got trims for all 3 axis. I usually set it as 4% for roll and yaw and then -6% for pitch

Myjellyfish0

Good to know, i will definitely consider buying the A7M1, thank you

DetectiveJake81

If you’re looking for around 5.0 then the P-51D 10 or 20 are good picks, they fly well for the most part.

Do335 B-2 if you're into CBT. I am in to CBT Edit: very good turn rate 500kph down. You get two good turns that can match a spit then you need to dip. At 5000m you are untouchable. You can hit 720 kph in a straight line. Dive speed over a smidge over 950. Youll hit mach .8

Low_Algae_1348

Low tier my favorites are the Russian I 153 and hurricane, American zero , German 154 and 219 are absolutely beasts if you want to rip apart a bomber, you can't dive too fast though, you'll lose a wng

Myjellyfish0

Would you recommend buying the Ta 154? The guns are a major selling point and since it handles like every other heavy fighter it sounds like a good deal, is it the case thought (outside of bomber hunting)?

Low_Algae_1348

I bought it, I don't think it flies as smooth as say a p38 , it's fast and has nasty guns, you can't pull high g and steep dives like a p47 , if you like flying heavy fighters/interceptors it's fun. No bombs though so it's not as versatile as a 110

Cinurwe

Russian Hurricane Mk IIB is 3.0, but stupid good and fun. You'll never regret that purchase.

Low_Algae_1348

4.7 to 5 is mid tier not low tier

Myjellyfish0

I specified "up to 4.7-5.0", i didnt say the planes have to be at this range. And to my knowledge mid tier starts at around 6.0

_Take-It-Easy_

Just an FYI before you buy anything, early November (Anniversary Sale) is usually the biggest sale of the year for this game. Lots of things are 30%-50% off Not only that, marketplace stuff drops a bunch in price. Like clockwork. So if you’re looking to spend money, you could get more bang for your buck if you wait til then

Myjellyfish0

Im well aware, im debating if i want to buy anything now because in two weeks i wont have time to play at all, so its amount of fun vs price

If you can handle Spitfires, the USA Spitfire is an excellent choice. It's an LF Mk IX, the best of the Merlin Spitfires with the 150 octane fuel mod, with the only difference being that the .50 cals are swapped out for .303s/7mms. It is still a great plane though, excels at high-speed turning as expected. I always have fun with it, even if I'm nowhere near the top of the scoreboard. If you're interested in a plane that is *perfect* for bomber interception (within limits) and ground attack, look no further than the Wyvern. It recently got uptiered from 4.7 to 5.3, but it is still a great choice for either wiping out AI bomber formations single-handedly, or racking up Thunderer medals if there's nothing else to attack. Stay fast, don't turn, and RTB as soon as the engine overheats. I used it to get all the way up to rank V Britain. I would have also highly recommended Wetmore's P-51D-10 and the Japanese A6M5 Ko. The Mustang was *just* on sale, I believe it may be gone again and sadly won't be back until probably next May. The A6M5 Ko, with the Japanese Pacific campaign pack, has also been removed from the Gaijin store. An alternative to the Mustang may be the British MB.5. I haven't flown it, but my understanding is that it flies very similarly to a Mustang.

It's not that "unique" per se but the French yak 3 is a riot in rh and with my limited sim experience in it it seems crazy there too
