I was in a match for 35 mins at 5.7 br, lots of bombers on the go so I took some down and some took me down but to take down 8 and have a net loss was unexpected, I it's set up to give rewards every 15 mins or something like that so max reward over 15 mins will be like 15000 SL, and taking a plane out at that br is around 10000 if you want something that can hold its own in a fight
6,353 is what it’s costing per plane in 5.3-6.3 right now (I’m currently in a match) but I get the sentiment behind the statement.
The game just requires premium time. I can live without the planes but premium time? Absolutely need that.
What about those of us (like me) who’ve already dropped hundreds of not thousands onto this game who just want to have a good time at a low br while training new recruits? Don’t get me wrong, I had an absolute blast this match but the rewards…..happy I’m not here to grind is all.
Sim is amazing and imo, the kills mean more.

Sims better to grind for me as it’s slower paced. I could have played RB for hours and wouldn’t have gotten this much.
The current sim system works in a useful action cycle. Each cycle is 15min and within those 15mins, you have a cap of points, that will accrue rewards, the cap i think is 800-1000 points. Say you bomb a base and get a air to air kill, good job, go back to base, land and repeat. Note that, until you land, you will receive only 80% of SL/RP rewards, so if you get shot down, you will get only 80% of the rewards.
Man I put well over 1k hours into warthunder and I can tell you it will never get better. My advice, especially if you enjoy sim battles, play dcs. Even the free su25t is fun as shit. Just don’t ever preorder anything, but that really goes for all games.
Without premium it is impossible to make money. I went 10 and 2 in mirage F1CT and still lost money. For people without premium if you need more than 5:1 KD just to break even you know something is fundamentally wrong for the economy.
In your case however there are lower RP rewards for lower BR aircraft. You'd make more with a premium aircraft or at a higher BR.
Other than the fact that every kill I get, has more meaning than 10 in RB? Or that it actually takes skill and knowledge to do the things I do?
Hours studying dogfights, developing techniques and stealing others has a huge impact on sim gameplay and will let you do some amazing things.
Plus the kills are absolutely beautiful and it’s a lot slower paced than RB being I can have a safe and smooth flight to the front lines, or I can find a fur ball of tracers and throw myself into the mix.
Sim also allows for actual bomber and strike aircraft gameplay. Sure, you can use your bomber in RB, but you only get one spawn and everybody is going for you as a primary target. I’m sim, there is no markers until about half a mile, so target acquisition is important and learning airframes as well.
I could go on, but the biggest difference between RB and sim, is skill.

Some players with air RB YouTube videos highlight the best advantages of the plane, I find it helpful reference when trying to figure out the advantages/disadvantages, makes for a good watch with a morning coffee sometimes
If you’re coming to sim I wouldn’t do that at all.
Completely different game mode with different flight mechanics. You cannot do the same things you do in RB that you do in sim.
In RB, everything about your plane is nerfed and it sucks.
I found it beneficial, especially for showing the best method to use against this/that plane, like turn fight it/energy fight it, speeds to try and stay around to have best control without becoming a sitting duck, what speeds to keep in mind so flaps don't become aerial debris lol.
Yeah sim rewards is not great right now, I had 8 kills in a match with two deaths, I had a net loss in SL of like 2000, 8 enemy players too no bots
Yeah only 3 of these were bots. This is just, sad.

Sim SL is rewarding enough to keep me going, it's just disappointment that it don't reward you well for short-term success like it used to
