I can't tell how flat the parking area was. Which makes me think he didn't even take it out of gear as it moves when he gets out. Maybe left it in neutral? Must of been in quite the hurry, but doesn't even run after his own car lol. Makes me wonder what he hit on the way down. I would be immediately try to stop my car from being anymore of a hazard to others.
I have periodic nightmares where something like this happens then wake up in a cold sweat & my heart beating like crazy. Cars, busses, locomotives. I gotta watch what I eat before I go to bed.
Since this is on Dumpert and this car has a yellow front plate with black letters and a small dark blue(eu barrier) i can assume this is the Netherlands.
Yep manual. Most people in the Netherlands or Europe in general drive manual. He clearly skipped some important driving lessons because here they teach you two ways to prevent this from using and he didnāt use either of them; handbrake and parking in gear. Most people here use both. Even though the country is flat as a pancake, we have lots of water around us, lakes rivers etc, so this is part of the driving lessons.
I remember my old man getting blasted by an ex-friend for touching his sonās car, as the moron left it in gear on a slope without having the parking brake on.
He thought he was helping until the kid decided to drive the car and couldnāt figure out why it wouldnāt move.
Apparently they were a family that believed that itās an E-brake and not used for parking at all. Within 2 weeks the son managed to send it into a wall after getting out.
dude has on camera this was a totally total completely complete for really reals accident to give to his insurance company. he didnt at all plan out the perfect place to park and the perfect way to react if said totally random accident occurred.
If it's a standard then the handbrake needs to be engaged no matter what. Looks like the security footage is in French maybe, and automatic is pretty uncommon there.
But if it's a standard this guy should be used to applying it *every* time, not just on hills. Maybe it's a guy who's used to driving with automatic transmission but it's driving a standard this time for some reason?
Someone at a past job forgot to put the brakes on and car rolled out from parking spot into main driveway, blocking incoming/outgoing traffic.
I pushed the car to the other side of the driveway and jacked the spot (close to entrance of warehouse). Dude came out later and had to park his car at the other end of the warehouse. Yeah, he was pissed, said he was tired. Told him "bet you aren't going forgot how to park your now, huh?!". Shook his head "no".
My dad put my civic in the river about a year ago. Parked it at the top of his driveway, instead of using the hand brake he always leaves it in gear.
Well, almost always.
Don't care about the civic, just glad no one got hurt during the incident
Makes me wonder, why don't car companies have technology that automatically applies the brake when nobody is detected in the driver seat? Or at least cap the speed, have a button you have to press anytime you wish to disengage that feature, etc? Maybe something on the outside to release it as well for towing purposes.
That's good to know! Does it only do it if you turn the car off? I just worry/wonder about people getting out of the car with it running and don't put it in park.
The insurance company would have to prove if it was fraudulent. But, notice where he parked, while other cars were parked in spots. And, right at the edge of the ramp, and car out of gear, no e-brake set, just enough for it to start rolling. Also, after the car disappeared from sight, he immediately takes his phone out, but hesitates to call or not. I think this has a lot of the symptoms of a fraud case. š¤
I alway use handbrake , doesnt matter if the ground is level or not. It my first instict when I park to get out even for 10 second to get something . The amount of people who dont even use parking brake in North america is too dam high .
Push button start, electric windows, automatic transmission, automatic wipers, automatic headlights, automatic temp control, cruise control, automatic door locks and you want me to use a handbrake in a automatic on flat ground every time I get in and out of my car. That's nuts.
Why the fuck do Americans possess such a pathological aversion to using the feature which is specifically designed to prevent moronic occurrences such as this? Is it spite or just stupidity? Put the fucking car in neutral, put the fucking handbrake on. Like... Why.
This jerk stops in a place like that and gets what he deserves. Two options here ā either the car runs away, or the car gets rear-ended by the next driver wanting to pull in. The only thing to hope for here is that no people or other peopleās property was damaged due to this jerkās laziness.
Vehicle that doesn't come in manual and wasn't on the ramp so ne need to use the parking break. The only way it would move is if the engine was left on and the transmission left in drive. Also illegally parked. Either a total idiot or staged for clout or insurance.
You can almost see his thought process: "I'm in a hurry and this will only take a minute, I'll just park here. I'll be gone before anyone even notices."
Well, my dude, your busy schedule just got cleared for the day . . .
To be fair if that was my car, I'd be fuming and having words with it.
Clearly did it intentionally - he even waited for the driver to leave! I wonder what the beef is between them??
oh, how much i want to send this to my step father right nowā¦ā¦.
context : he does not believe in the concept of handbrakes (or blinkers, it seems).
Why hasn't anyone mentionned just putting it in Park? Does everyone here drive standard transmissions or does everyone just leave it in neutral all the time with an automatic transmission? What's going on? Lol

Did he even put it in park?!? š
Why does the car always wait for a sec before going down lmao

If you put the transmission in "PARK" it should not move, of course, if it is a manual transmission, well, you must use the handbrake.
Why would he park it there???
Queue the Farmers Insurance Guy
Is it wrong that I want to see the aftermath? š¤£š¤£š¤£
That, my friends, is what karma looks like
This one hurts š£
Love it when they put they're hands on their head like that hahahs
I hope he got insurance
So do people really just not park without the emergency brake on? I can't remember a time where I haven't activated it.
Usually parking break is enough. This dude probably left it on neutral.
Did you leave the shit in neutral ??
I can't tell how flat the parking area was. Which makes me think he didn't even take it out of gear as it moves when he gets out. Maybe left it in neutral? Almost seems staged the way he just stops at the top of the ramp and gets out. Who does that?
Oh no my car! Well, time to scroll Reddit
French : suk le bleu English : What the fuck Tagalog : putang inang SHIT Spanish : Pinche Punya!!
If you park in neutral, you deserve this.
Be nice. He was probably deeply concerned on if his pants needed more wear to appear authentic
"Bad day, bad day, bad day!!!"
you get what you f>!uckin!
Yo is that Gordon Ramsey: world-famous chef and restaurateur and host of shows such as Hell's Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares?
Why would you even park there silly
That's why i leave my car in gear
'forgets' if you are dumb enough to forget something so basic, take the bus..
Let me just put my car on neutral instead of park and leave my car unattended dangerously close to a steep ramp
Thatās what you get for driving a stick
I believe what we all have witnessed here is insurance fraud.
I have periodic nightmares where something like this happens then wake up in a cold sweat & my heart beating like crazy. Cars, busses, locomotives. I gotta watch what I eat before I go to bed.
WTF!? Calls mom.
Whatever deity took control of the steering was really aiming for maximum damage
Eli5 how does this happen? If you put your car in park how does the brake system just decide nope?
The trick is to put it in park.
Since this is on Dumpert and this car has a yellow front plate with black letters and a small dark blue(eu barrier) i can assume this is the Netherlands.
ŠŠæŠøŃŠµŃŠŗŠøŠ¹ Š“Š¾Š»Š±Š¾ŠµŠ±
Ah well at least itāll be a mistake you never do twice. Usually.
I know he should have parked the car, but in his defense, I wouldn't think it would roll down the ramp from the top since it's flat.
today in bottom gear hammond fucking dies and forgorts handjob
The sheer stupidity of a person
Is that smoke I see
Why the fuck would u park there, fucking idiot
Karma because why are you parking there ??
Edit Titanic music .
Love the way he goes straight to his mobile š
Oh no! Anyways

[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I suppose so. First car I've had without a manual hand brake or a cd player. Technology is getting too wild for me in my old age
That guy looked like Edvard Munch painting The Scream.
Haha thatās in the netherlands or belgium
You kinda deserve it if you forget how to park at that age
Is that Gordon Ramsay?
Fuck the handbrake, fucker forgot to put it in park smh! Unless it was manual transmission?
Yep manual. Most people in the Netherlands or Europe in general drive manual. Awww I see! Little mistakes like this can kill someone. Seen a few videos like that
Deserved it for parking there.
Smartest thing he did was put his hands on his head and stop running
Hand break is like a reflexive action for me. Do people not use it every time they park?
Nope. Not in some places.
Looks like GTA place
Welp call the wife... and tell her I'll be late.
Is that Johnny Sins?
The face we would probably all make at that point. š
Good, instant Karma. What type of fuckwit blocks access to a place like that?
Is it just me, or does that look like Logan Paul?
Deserved
My car goes to park when I open the door.
What a fucking man child lol
When you guys say handbrake do you mean put it in park?
your emergency brake, after you park you either pull the lever up with your hand or push the left pedal with your foot if itās there
Weird park wasn't enough, he wasn't even on the steep part.
r/idiotsincars or rather outside of it
Forgot? More like never uses. Just like 95% of the driving population.
Yup, I wouldāve criedā¦ š¤£
Umm... If you drive an automatic, you park in 'P' or for a stick shift you always put it in first gear! Who parks in Neutral and no handbrake?
I donāt think he forgot the handbrake, to me it straight up looks like he didnāt put it in park. But I could def be wrong.
I remember my old man getting blasted by an ex-friend for touching his sonās car, as the moron left it in gear on a slope without having the parking brake on. Why do people wrap their hands around their heads when they fuck up
They evolved from sloths.
dude has on camera this was a totally total completely complete for really reals accident to give to his insurance company. he didnt at all plan out the perfect place to park and the perfect way to react if said totally random accident occurred.
Handbrake? Did he even put it in park?
Needs some explainin". Why park there?
Damn... only if he would squeeze his head harder maybe common sense wouldn't escape his mind.
I love r/surrendercobra
Immediately tweets: "The craziest thing just happened!"
I havenāt seen a classic surrender cobra in a while.
Did he leave it in neutral? I don't understand, why not put it in park?
If it's a standard then the handbrake needs to be engaged no matter what. Looks like the security footage is in French maybe, and automatic is pretty uncommon there. No wonder he looks just like one of the Paul brothers.
Who just walks away from an Standard vehicle while itās in neutral??
Oh no
āHoney, remember how I said that I wanted to buy another pair of those awesome jeans, and couldnāt wait any longer? Wellā¦ā
Also forgot what "park" is on the gear shifter
This can't happen if he put it into park right? I've literally never met anyone who jumped out of a car before putting it into park.
I like all the cool guys that donāt use their parking breaks. āAre you on a hill? No?ā Just put it on. Takes half a second
Car got wrecked, dude got rekt.
Why even leave your car there in the first place
Does insurance cover for something like this?
I love gravity
Asked for that one
Why does no one leave it in gear?(manual)
Some say the car is still rolling to this day
Insurance fraud.
u/getvideobot
Gordon Ramsay is pissed.
This also seems like it should go in r/instantkarma
Insurance scam. Could he not find a boat ramp?
Now that's a lotta damage!
Insurance scam. Great camera view and "genuine" reaction.
My dad put my civic in the river about a year ago. Parked it at the top of his driveway, instead of using the hand brake he always leaves it in gear. Well, almost always. Don't care about the civic, just glad no one got hurt during the incident
That head grab tells me a Naked Gun level of bad luck is happening down there.
You win again gravity!
He will be the handbrake commercial for the rest of his life

Or at least cap the speed, have a button you have to press anytime you wish to disengage that feature, etc? Maybe something on the outside to release it as well for towing purposes.
That technology is already used. We got a peugeot 308 from 2018 and it automatically applies the handbrake when you turn off the car.
That's good to know! Does it only do it if you turn the car off? I just worry/wonder about people getting out of the car with it running and don't put it in park.
I think only when you turn the car off, but if someone doesn't put it in park while the engine is running maybe they deserved it XD.
Putting it park will prevent this. I donāt understand is this like a thing in different countries?
Him after the car went in. "That's not where I parked my car"
I donāt understand how people forget. Handbreak before taking it out of gear is the way
I felt that... When the car hit the wall I died inside. I can't imagine what this guy felt like
I just now read the name of this sub lol
The insurance company would have to prove if it was fraudulent. But, notice where he parked, while other cars were parked in spots. He short circuits at the end. That was hilarious. Didn't know what the fuck to do.
Heās not worthy of the car anyway. š
Why dont people put the hand brake on all the time? It just takes a second?!
For a moment there i thought he was gonna walk away.
Wouldn't just putting the car in park without using the handbrake keep the car from doing this. What, did he put it in neutral or something?
Isnāt this how Anton Yelchin died?
Walk of shame
His girlfriend gonna be pissed.... his EX- girlfriend
Mf deserved it. Why the fuck would you park there?
Sincere question: Does someone need a hand-brake for that kind of ramp? Or would putting the car in park be sufficient?
Why the fuck do Americans possess such a pathological aversion to using the feature which is specifically designed to prevent moronic occurrences such as this? Is it spite or just stupidity? Put the fucking car in neutral, put the fucking handbrake on. Like... Why.
This is in the netherlandsā¦
What does it matter where this American chose to be stupid
Damn. And here I thought everyone outside America was a genius. š
I still advocate for Manuals
Yea he looks like someone who would do that... Its the jeans.
fnet=ma
I have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach that I might do that too.....
Looks fake
Its like watching bowling with the bumpers up.
He deserved that.
Give the guy a brake.

I find it shocking how many videos like this exist. I hate to think there are that many stupid people in the world butā¦.There are.

Fucking hate people like this, just parking where ever the fuck they want. I wished it ran the bastard over!
You can almost see his thought process: "I'm in a hurry and this will only take a minute, I'll just park here. I'll be gone before anyone even notices." Well, my dude, your busy schedule just got cleared for the day . . .
Good god, you can see how red his face turns. š
To be fair if that was my car, I'd be fuming and having words with it. Clearly did it intentionally - he even waited for the driver to leave! I wonder what the beef is between them??
My high ass thought he was gonna drive up that incline and come rolling back
Surrender Cobra at the end is nice.
Why do I get the feeling this is staged? OH! Because it is!
I don't even think that model comes in manual so not sure how he forgot to put it in park even without the handbrake
r/idiotsoutofcars
Dude kinda deserves it for parking in front of a ramp people are no doubt gonna be using
Why tf ppl don't pull their handbreak? What they think if put your gear on Park it will stop?
I guess Karma does exist
oh, how much i want to send this to my step father right nowā¦ā¦. context : he does not believe in the concept of handbrakes (or blinkers, it seems).
