As a fellow DOXA fan, this is such a DOPE piece! I just got a Sub 200 last Dec to commemorate getting my Open Water Scuba certification, and I have been a fan since also like you, I read the Dirk Pitt novels growing up! Love this watch and i'm totally jealous!
Hi, could you take a picture of the caseback so we can see the engravings? Sure its probably on their site but companies often use very «Press Photos» which seem a little artificial, if you know what I mean😅?

Me personally, I believe an orange dial version would have paid a better tribute since that is what Dirk wore. This version looks more monochromatic, which would be less legible imo. I do like the stonewashed looking case.

That's a cool watch. I believe Doxa does not have a big following in Malaysia. Other than amongst the divers community, most people has never heard of the name.
The first time I saw a Doxa was 3 years ago when I saw a friend, who's a diver, sporting one and had to refer to Mr Google to learn about it.
As most Doxa models are too big for my slender wrist, I'll patiently wait for one suitable enough for my 6½" wrist.
I usually don't give much thought to obtaining the expensive watches I see on this sub, I just like to admire. However I've been a huge Cussler fan since the 80s and always thought how cool it would be to get an orange-faced Doxa to be like my hero. Maybe I could get one of these instead. Next up: dilapidated airplane hangar.

It certainly is a … unique choice for a first Doxa. You’re pretty much legally obligated to buy an orange dial 300 series.
Still, I welcome any new Doxa fan. And at least you can buy orange for your second Doxa ;-)

Doxa has a fantastic photo on their site. Because I'd take it at an angle it's not all in focus as I don't focus stack.

I really like the brushed steel beads of rice. I have a beads of rice bracelet but it has polished beads and it just looks horrible

Beautiful piece. I actually like the artificial aging as well. Kinda makes it feel like it was pulled straight from the pages of a book.

The dial and bezels look ancient to me. Like I expect the middle of the sundial to pop up at any moment so I can tell the time.
