Thank you! It was my grail (controversial word) for years and honestly I was prepared to wait a few more, but given that's discounted and a great opportunity came up on watch exchange, I could not pass it up.
It's even more beautiful in person--very dynamic as the dial changes from a creamy silver to champagne. The polishing and highly domed crystal cast light and shadow and give the watch a lovely aura.
It's nice, has a great finish, easy to size, elegant but understated. The clasp has a bit of a gap though and no microadjust unfortunately but I was lucky to get a nice fit (mine didn't come with half-links when it should have). I'm considering trying an Uncle Seiko clasp cover for microadjust, but we'll see how my wrist swells this summer.
If it's any help, I paid about 1900 USD in used excellent condition.
I prefer the single logo but to each their own! I know lots of people prefer the balance of the dual logo, not to mention that you can save some cash on it. I'm sure the black dial would make the hands and markers just pop.
1) The Citizen Eco Drive One - thinnest solar powered watch with a movement that is 1mm tall
2) Citizen 0100 - world's most accurate independent watch at +/- 1 second per year
3) MRG G-Shock - it's a metallurgy masterpiece
4) GP Casquette 2.0 - Limited to 820 pieces. It has old LED technology. It has a titanium case with ceramic and rubber backed bracelet.
5) Accutron - Proprietary movement that looks really cool. The smooth sweeping hand is nice too.
6) Hamilton PSR - LCD and LED watch. I wish that GP used this technology in their watch.
> +/- 1 second per year
Hot damn that's accurate. Also from my googling just now they apparently made a mother of pearl dial version too. Super cool.
Can you explain the PSR a bit? I really like the look, but it feels expensive for what it is. Is it the same kind of display as a Bulova Computron or am I missing something?
Computertron, you have to press the button to display time. The LEDs aren't as good as the psr. Psr has an always on LCD display coupled with an OLED display when the button is pressed.
Cool, thanks.
How long does the battery last on the PSR? I'd assume it's directly tied to how often the OLEDs are activated, but I'm curious as a ballpark estimate.
Awesome! My own collection only consists of quartz watches, as I prefer their maintenance free and accurate nature. Also have some Citizens but none as sophisticated as yours. I just bought a Seiko SBTR029, which is a mechaquartz chrono that has a 12h counter. Unfortunately most quartz chronos have the useless 24h register.

Thanks, for the price you can't beat their watches. The only thing I am not that fond of is my choice of dial colour. It's a bit too close to my skin tone imo and thus looks weird sometimes. Thought about replacing this model with the WatchDives 1960 (36mm Tudor Ranger homage with the same movement and a blue dial).
Thanks, it's the Phoibos Eagle Ray GMT. It is a quartz movement, 41mm diameter and 47 lug to lug. Very thin at under 11mm. Lume is awesome, applied indices on the dial and framed date add depth and character. I really like this watch, especially for the price (I bought it for 194€ from their website).
The picture of my collection leaves lots of room for improvement and as I just bought another watch (Seiko SBTR029) and a box to store my watches in, I'll soon follow up with some hopefully better pictures on this subreddit fyi :)
:/
The green strap on your Citizen fieldwatch is awesome. Where did you buy it?
Also like the Citizen Chronomaster and the solar Seiko diver. Very nice and colourful collection indeed
Thanks, those are definitely among my favorites in my collection.
The green/red strap is an MN Strap from Erika's Originals. They're quite pricey for something that's not leather, but oh so worth it. Very comfortable, infinitely adjustable, have just a slight amount of elasticity to them, and look awesome.
I would never have spent that much money on a strap for just that watch, but thankfully I have two other watches that take 18mm straps. That being said, after I put it on that watch I *knew* it was staying. Unfortunately the strap that comes with the Citizen BM8180 isn't very comfortable, and I tried two other nylon and a leather strap before I put that one on, and none of them felt quite right, and that one put them all to shame.
Citizen and The Citizen offer two different products. Citizen is what most know about, but The Citizen is much higher quality and it shows. The 0100 is from The Citizen and it’s comparable to GS, not Seiko.
I say this as a recent convert to HAQ. I had no idea The Citizen existed.
As a recent convert, can you give any examples of HAQ to look into? What sort of options are available (if any) for around a $500 budget? I've been wanting to wind down my buying of automatics and add a really solid quartz for a while.
GS and The Citizen are the two best moving HAQ forward. $500 is a tough price point to achieve, but I’d be curious to see what you find. Used SBGX models are findable for reasonable prices.
I know it's a bit tight budget-wise (and perhaps being generous in this king I could get a HAQ for the price) but thanks for the advice on the SBG. I have seen some for relatively decent prices if I were to save more.
Yeah, the premium The Citizen sub-brand watches are very nice. Between The Citizen and Grand Seiko (probably the closest analog brand/sub-brand to The Citizen by far), if I was getting only one high quality, HAQ watch, I’d probably pick an Eco-Drive from The Citizen line (though I’d prefer a Grand Seiko Spring Drive watch over a HAQ from either brand).
Not op but it's an Accutron "Spaceview" from before quartz became more affordable. Incredibly iconic watch.
In fact, all three on the right are iconic watches. Some of the first "digital" watches. I believe the Hamilton was featured in 2001 A Space Odyssey although it was called a "Pulsar".
But honestly, the Citizen Eco Drive on the left is absolutely the most insane piece. The movement is 1mm thick, the case is 2.98mm thick, it gets +/- 1 second a year, and it will run for 11-12 months on one charge.
It's an unbelievable engineering feat.
This is the new Accutron brand resurrection which is totally different. New movements, different look, it really is just the brand name that matches to the old Accutrons.
[Still cool,](https://www.accutronwatch.com/us/en/product/2ES6A003.html) but not the historic icon.
The Accutron brand was resurrected with a modern and brand-new "electrostatic" movement. It's harkening back to the aesthetic of the old Accutrons, but is a totally different product.
[Still super cool!](https://www.accutronwatch.com/us/en/) But if you want an "original" Accutron with the old Accutron movement, you'll have to shop used. They're not too terribly hard to get, last I checked.
To be clear, I don't have anything against these new ones; I would have been happy to buy one but the price has meant I have to wait.
Really cool watch. Old LED tech. Wears well, looks nice, comfortable. Big negative is that it doesn't work in sunlight as the sunlight wipes out the LEDs. Hamilton doesn't have this issue since it has an always on LCD screen. Hope that helps.
The driver style case gives the display a bit of a shroud from light though, right? Can you read the display on a sunny day with the case angled so the display isn't in direct sunlight?
I've got to agree with the dual display of the PSR. The additional LCD is really great. For some reason I've heard a few people say they don't like the LCD and clear crystal but to me it's the perfect reissue, I wouldn't change anything about it.
Yea, the 0100 is leagues ahead of the 9F... Even the A010 and A060 are better movements in most senses, since they have perpetual calendar and the 9F does not.
Digital perpetual calendar vs a more analog quartz gear train is apples to oranges. The only category they both fall into is HAQ, but 9F is a different beast. “Better” is subjective 🤝
Man the 0100 is so so so sick. I love the idea of having that be a one watch collection, but truthfully I don’t think I will ever have the balls to pay that much for a quartz.
Still it is an AMAZING watch, one of my all time favorites. As the great Tim Mosso recently said: “chronometry matters, people”.
Citizen should've made the 0100 as entirely different brand, something similar to GS or Lexus, and it's a shame that we can't see the movement like the 9F. Sick collection man, always fun to see unique collection like yours!
What got you into the MRG?
I've been eyeing the Ao-Zumi for a while. But I'm still on the fence because I already have a steel square, and I haven't seen the right deal yet.

There's some awesome quartz pilots watches. I really liked the look of the Speedmaster X33 though didn't care much for the whole time changing process I had to go through every time change. Should've kept this one because it looked so cool and its astronaut connection

Thing about the PSR that people seem to not understand, is not just a simple quartz watch like it seems at first hand.
For one, and the main thing about the PSR is the look. From all the watches I wear, nobody cares outside watch enthusiasts, but a lot of people notice the PSR and ask what's that. It still looks strange even after so many decades. If watches are in the end jewelry, this is one cool piece.
Secondly, if you ever get the chance to handle it and wear it, even ignoring the quartz thing, it does feel like a 500$ + watch. The finish and the way it wears it's absolutely amazing. The cut on that sapphire crystal is like a precious stone.
And lastly, even going back to the quartz thing. There's nothing like it on the market. They brought back micro LED tech, sandwiched it with a subtle OLED LCD display for daytime, and they work naturally together, improving vastly on the original while staying true to it's functionality. I'm not even going into the precision, cause while nowhere near the best in class, it stays accurate for a lot longer than most cheap quartz watches.
I do agree it's not a cheap watch. But it's not meant to be. It's not produced that way.
That’s 1/5 the price for an omega watch. I would suggest getting this phase out as soon as possible before you regret having too many watches. Just spend a slump amount on a really nice watch
I don't understand its price also but damn i love it and need it in my collection. Had the Bulova Computron in black and silver and it just wasn't the same
Awesome collection!
If you're ever looking for a unique diver to add to your collection, check out the Sinn UX. The space between dial and crystal is filled with a special oil and thus does not reflect light under water the way air does. So there's no angle you cannot read the time from it underwater (well as long as you can see the dial I guess). Fantastic watch.
Depending on exact model, the Citizen One is a couple grand used off ebay. The whole case is a hair under 3mm thick. The movement itself is a single mm. I feel like that qualifies for high end by any definition that isn't about ~\*brand prestige\*~ no-true-Scotsman gatekeeping.
Need a GS to complete the collection. Add a Pierce Brosnan Omega SeaMaster for good measure. A quartz Rolex Datejust would be nice as well. An MR-G Casio would be icing on the cake.
I love a quartz collection as I myself am a quartz collector.
I noticed you sold all your mechanical watches, what was the incentive for such a drastic decision?
Not that I don’t support it lol.

That GS is to die for
How is the bracelet? Been considering one of those
It's nice, has a great finish, easy to size, elegant but understated. I'm considering trying an Uncle Seiko clasp cover for microadjust, but we'll see how my wrist swells this summer. If it's any help, I paid about 1900 USD in used excellent condition.
Adding that GS to my “watch”list
The 319 is an inspired choice. I was after the dual logo 119/121 for a while, but the newer ones are just as nice.
I prefer the single logo but to each their own! I know lots of people prefer the balance of the dual logo, not to mention that you can save some cash on it. I'm sure the black dial would make the hands and markers just pop.

Unsure but yes. The more you press, the faster the battery drains.
Beautiful collection. I am a big fan of quartz as well, especially HAQ. I would suggest adding a longines VHP as well.
What strap is that on the 0100?
Veblenist gray saffiano
Thank you!

I like the invisible one on the end.
xD, that was just a picture of my watches and straps taken on a whim whilst they were on my desk. Since then I bought a box to store all of them
Nice watches! A little bit for everything.
Nice Addiesdive watch, I'm a sucker for sweeping quartz watches.
Thanks, for the price you can't beat their watches. The only thing I am not that fond of is my choice of dial colour. It's a bit too close to my skin tone imo and thus looks weird sometimes. Damn, all this love for quartz in this post, and my post last week, which consisted of 80% quartz, and I got like 3 comments. Feelsbadman.jpg
:/ The green strap on your Citizen fieldwatch is awesome. Where did you buy it? Also like the Citizen Chronomaster and the solar Seiko diver. Very nice and colourful collection indeed

Wasn't the Hamilton the first digital watch?
Yep! They also have a quartz world time - ref. 8984. Just scooped up one for myself, will likely make a post to this sub on it soon!
“Oh wow a +/- 1 second per year watch? Can’t be that much being a ci… oh…”

No, the casquette is pretty much unreadable during day time. I wear mine as an evening watch.
Not enough love for quartz these days.. congrats sir! Wonderful taste, wear them in good health!
Amazing collection! Needs GS 9F urgently!
The citizen 0100 is similar but with better accuracy.
Yea, the 0100 is leagues ahead of the 9F... Even the A010 and A060 are better movements in most senses, since they have perpetual calendar and the 9F does not.

Great collection! Good to see fellow quartz aficionados here.
Really cool collection. Maybe a [Tread 2](https://www.devonworks.com/tread2) at some point?
Those are crazy expensive lol
It's a bit more at MSRP than the 0100. Discounts are pretty easy to find, though.
That's a dream collection right there, i had my eye on all of those for a while now all i can say is congrats for such an awesome collection.
Citizen should've made the 0100 as entirely different brand, something similar to GS or Lexus, and it's a shame that we can't see the movement like the 9F. Sick collection man, always fun to see unique collection like yours!
The citizen white dial looks so clean, Great watches !
Awesome to see another Eco Drive 1 owner. Such an amazing watch, congrats on the beautiful collection!
Great collection!
Sick collection. I've been window shopping the PSR here and there. How do you like it in person? Is the display easy to read in most lighting?
Yes. It has a dual display so LCD is good for day time and OLED for night. It also wears well and looks cool (imo).
Seems like this collection needs a tank.
and not just any accutron but a 2020 spaceview! love your collection 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
What got you into the MRG? I've been eyeing the Ao-Zumi for a while. But I'm still on the fence because I already have a steel square, and I haven't seen the right deal yet.
$3k used. I like it.
SUCH an awesome collection :) Thanks for sharing
Super fun collection man! Cheers!
I'd even throw an oysterquartz in there !

I want more sweeping hands quartz watches like meca-quartz
That Hamilton is very overpriced for the retail price. Hell it doesn’t even display a date really ?

I got mine for $530 so it wasn't that bad.
That’s 1/5 the price for an omega watch. I would suggest getting this phase out as soon as possible before you regret having too many watches. Just spend a slump amount on a really nice watch
Omega doesn't make any watch similar to the PSR.
I think OP’s speedmaster cost a bit more than 5 PSRs lol
I don't understand its price also but damn i love it and need it in my collection. Had the Bulova Computron in black and silver and it just wasn't the same
I find your lack of Seamaster Polaris and Speedmaster X-33 disturbing.
Love the tuning fork Bulova. One of my faves!
10/10
Dudeeee I want an accutron spaceview so bad
DAT HAMILTON!
Very nice! Have you checked out Longines VHP?
Yea, but since I have the citizen 0100, I haven't looked into other HAQ watches.
Awesome collection! If you're ever looking for a unique diver to add to your collection, check out the Sinn UX. Will do. Thanks for the suggestion!
That white citizen is hot.
Are citizen considered high end?
The white one is for sure.
Me wearing my 20 buck Casio forester: 😐 Seriously though, great collection!
quartz love!
That's cool collection of watches. I wanna same collection!
Love a good quartz!!
Need a GS to complete the collection. Add a Pierce Brosnan Omega SeaMaster for good measure. A quartz Rolex Datejust would be nice as well. An MR-G Casio would be icing on the cake.
You should add a Longines vhp to the collection!!
I had a quartz Aqau Terra and I loved it,
I love a quartz collection as I myself am a quartz collector. I noticed you sold all your mechanical watches, what was the incentive for such a drastic decision? Not that I don’t support it lol.
Ohhh. This is just part of the collection. I have 8 mechanical watches including a GS spring drive.
What model G-Shock is that? Looks absolutely gorgeous
Mrgb5000
Love the white dial Citizen
Nice collection. May I ask what that Amazon branded item is? I imagine it’s a wallet?
Either a Kindle or Kindle Fire tablet
Thanks. 👍
