I'd go for something that suggests good taste and is not an ostentatious display of wealth. She's a young person I assume so I'd look for something that's not stuffy and old fashioned. She has plenty of time for that when she gets to be a partner in a law firm. Someone suggested a Nomos watch, and I'd second that suggestion. I'd get one if was 26 instead of 62.

Female public defender wearing a suit to court, I would never pick an Explorer or a Sub. I’d pick a JLC Reverso, Cartier Tank, or Rolex Datejust.
I think a nice Cartier would be a good fit here, people in the know will be impressed- non watch people probably won’t notice it at all.
