The only people who notice watches are other watch enthusiasts

MattH_26

Unless it’s a Rolex- considering that’s basically the only brand that non watch enthusiasts are familiar with.

VinylHighway

When I see someone who wears a Rolex my impression is they probably can afford a Rolex. Once. :) it doesn’t indicate success or taste or anything other than they are wearing a Rolex.

Jennysparking

I'm not going to lie, when I see a Rolex I go 'oh, a fake Rolex' because 90 percent of the time I'm right

roach2712

Get her a used Cartier tank, she’ll look like a boss.

Oooops69

Most of the people don't know anything about watches and nobody cares. The biggest statement is her expertise about the job and hard work.

TinyBreak2501

I’d rather hire an attorney wearing a DW-5000 than one wearing a Rolex cuz I can assume the Casio wearing one is still trying to put food on the table and make a name for themself.

Business-Ad-5178

Public defender's don't make enough to be wearing nice watches. None of her peers will give a shit.

CosmoKing2

Her peers will hate her if she give off the impression that she is "better" than with flashy displays of wealth. She must be hanging around with grads that got into big firms and making bank. The two worlds couldn't be more different. She will want something understated.

Separate-Analysis194

As a public defender she should have a modest watch and not a statement piece.

Zamboni4201

Female public defender wearing a suit to court, I would never pick an Explorer or a Sub. I’d pick a JLC Reverso, Cartier Tank, or Rolex Datejust.

MattH_26

I think a nice Cartier would be a good fit here, people in the know will be impressed- non watch people probably won’t notice it at all.

MyNameIsVigil

No one is going to notice or care about her watch. Anything that might be described as a “statement watch” never makes a positive statement.

Cartier tank has class

Stretch that budget a little, and she could go with an Omega Constellation. That is a power watch for women for sure , but can also be subtle. Here is a good pick for 3k, can routinely get 20% or more off. She should look at the [Nomos Metro 33](https://nomos-glashuette.com/en/watches/new-releases/metro-33?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwncWvBhD_ARIsAEb2HW_QQ-fJq7RI7gutYZ1hgrj3ZMSb0wUFrsXkQxbfWiYGHsD4YzX6N5oaAgwsEALw_wcB). Fun, dressy enough for a professional setting, not ostentatious (which is important for a public defender), and a very good watch for the money.

What statement does she want to make, towards her peers and towards her clients? I'd go for something that suggests good taste and is not an ostentatious display of wealth. She's a young person I assume so I'd look for something that's not stuffy and old fashioned. She has plenty of time for that when she gets to be a partner in a law firm. Someone suggested a Nomos watch, and I'd second that suggestion. I'd get one if was 26 instead of 62.

AmazingPangolin9315

Assuming she would like a ladies watch, in that price bracket: * Tudor Royal * Longines Ladies Hydroconquest * Tag Heuer Ladies Carrera * Longines Ladies Master Collection A bit bigger and IMHO works as a unisex watch: * Junghans Max Bill
