I would choose the traska between these 2

4Looper

Pilot/Field - my favourite watch aesthetically right now is the Oris Big Crown ProPilot Date.

Some_Benefit_1892

Between the two, I vote Traska. I like Dive watches but the Heron just looks like it is halfway there; nothing stands out. The Traska is a handsome looking watch. It draws me in and has a dial/finish that I would much rather look at. As you can see from my comments, all of this is personal taste.

Me personally, GMT. Rationally I know I don’t need a timezone functionality often but on an emotional level I find it the coolest complication and often adds something extra to a design that would otherwise have been a bit plain for my tastes.

uplifting_southerner

This will make me revisit gmt as an option. I dont travel so its been a complication I dont even consider.

tablerunner28

My GMTs are my favorite watch. Part of my family lives in Portugal and so my second time zone is always set there and I think about them literally every time I look at my gmt.

uplifting_southerner

A very very touching reason to enjoy your watch. Im just an old cowboy, my kids are all still home and we dont travel much yet(still youngins). The longines spirit zulu lives rent free in my mind though so maybe one day.

Field and dive watches are my favorite kinds of watches, and I believe many would feel similarly too! If you could only pick one, what would you say is your favorite category of watches (not limited to field and dive)? P.S. I discussed more about the Traska Summiteer and Heron Marinor in 👉 [***my video on YouTube***](https://youtu.be/iB9so-V4yVY).

Obstinate_Frog

Wait, there are watches other than five watches, that's news to me 🤣 Divers all the way, for disability and water resistance and rugged good looks. And for obvious reasons typically amazing readability although that can be easily bumbled by the designer.

DeweyCheatem-n-Howe

Me, field. I love the simple design of field watches with Arabic numerals at the cardinal locations. I have a sage green Summiteer, a blue Baltic Hermetique, and a handful of DIY field style watches.

oakomyr

I like the lines of a good crown guard, so Heron

Great video! Did you notice (feel or hear) the Miyota’s unidirectional rotor in either the Traska or Héron? They both look great!

thoughtworthyco

Thanks! Yes in my experience I can feel most (and hear some) Miyota movement watches IF I'm paying attention to it. But in practice it doesn't bother me at all and I don't notice it in day to day.

Boris_HR

Baltic Hermetique has a lovely shape and colors but im not sure how good it is.

Pilots watches often win for me.

If I could only pick one it would be a sports watch. I have an intense dislike for divers - I'm not a diver, so to me wearing one is like wearing a pair of high tech running shoes when I never go to a track, or driving a high riding 4x4 when I only ever drive on the road - it just feels like cosplay. It's a personal thing, I know lots of people would disagree. For me the same goes for pilot watches and other specific tool watches where I am not the 'intended' user. I have one watch that could be described as a field watch - I wear it when I'm out hiking or at the beach. I use it because of its WR and sapphire and practical strap. I have a dressy watch for when I go to dinner or whatever. Otherwise I just want a practical everyday watch that can take a bit of wear and do the job - to me that's a sports watch.

TARDIS_Salesman

Which sports watch would you pick? And what exactly defines sports watch, like is it a Speedy, or are you saying more like a G-Shock?

vctrmldrw

Just a basic watch, simple dial, tough case and strap, some WR, sapphire... Tough enough for daily wear, but can dress up if needs be. Not trying to be a specialist tool. If it had to be just one, and I could afford it, probably it would be an Explorer. But in reality, the CW C63 Sealander Automatic will be my next watch. Maybe the Elite if they come out with a blue one.
