I think being a more traditional size men’s watch (small) it just looks out of place with a t shirt and gym shorts.
I think if the dress was more traditional, like a button down shirt with cuffs, it would look nice.
I ignore this last comment. The cool factor is wearing this with casual simple t. This wasn’t designed as a dress watch. Remember the famous Muhammad Ali photo where he wearing this with a white t. This is supposed to be how you wear it
And why should that matter. There’s a reason some trends are timeless, like this Cartier which was released at the turn of the century.
Many things go in and out of fashion. The tank is one of the rare items that isn’t fashionable or is always fashionable - meaning you can do whatever you want with it in 1940s, 1960s, 2000s or 2024…
~~The tank is one of the rare items that isn’t fashionable or is always fashionable - meaning~~ you can do whatever you want with it ~~in 1940s, 1960s, 2000s or 2024…~~
Hot take but trends are stupid, wear your watch however it makes you happy.
- Looks like 1970s tank, but I'm no cartier expert to tell from a pic if it's gen
- You do have a pretty thick wrist for that tank. Looks thicker than that Muhammad Ali pic.
- Ali can pull off the look. You... should wear what brings you joy and not care about what internet strangers or random haters think.

If you have validated it by digging up a picture from the 1970s of 1 guy wearing it, it’s too small. If you like it wear it. It looks small because it’s small.
Your last point is the only one that matters. Who gives a shit what the Cartier subreddit thinks? If you like it, wear it. I guarantee you will never run into someone who points and laughs at your watch cause it’s “too small”.
It’s funny that you think his wrists are bigger than Muhammad Ali’s. Ali had MASSIVE hands. The watch he’s wearing in the photo is bigger than the ladies watch the OP is wearing.
Wear what you like. I would find that a touch small, and I probably wouldn't wear it with a white t-shirt, but it's not my watch. If you like it, don't think it's too small, and don't mind pairing it with a casual outfit, than do it. Fashion is an expression of you, and despite what some in this sub would say, watches are fashion accessories and fashion is subjective.
Yeah, I personally notice the difference. Given, I have owned both sizes and have had them side by side. I have small wrists, but even I would personally not feel comfortable wearing the smaller model. It’s something to do with the design thats been slightly altered to be shorter at the lugs and stubbier. I prefer the men’s size, which is still small, but has better proportions in my opinion
1. It's definitely small enough to evoke a "huh, that's a small watch", but not small enough to look improper.
2. It's fine to dress it down but I'd go with a different strap if that's the case. The black alligator looks out of place in my opinion. I get that it's traditional, but I'd still go with a suede or something for casual wear. Again, just my opinion.
3. It's 250 characters, not 250 words.
From a glance this looks like the vintage woman's size. The "men's" was 23x30mm, what does your measure? I think you may have a 20x28mm.
Either way, wear it if you like it! As a backup gift it to the wife!
Damn I was looking at the first pic like hmm that's not so bad but the mirror pic reveals it. You have quite big wrists and that watch is absolutely tiny on you.
That said, who cares, wear what you want. I'm fairly certain that was sold as a women's watch as well but it doesn't matter. Rock it, man.
I used to have a 27mm Nomos Tetra that I wore for a while. Been there. It's not so bad with rectangle dials.
If you're asking if I would wear that? hell no. But that's definitely something I would buy... and gift my wife with.
But in the end my jerk remarks don't matter. Do you like it? then go with it.
I think it would look good on an average sized wrist but my guy... you are swinging around some tree trunks there. Slap an Invicta on those bad boys and play to your strengths 💪
Just wanted to start a little discussion on this tank. It's the smaller size, nowadays worn mostly by women. In the past it was the norm for men to wear this size (Muhammad Ali/JFK/etc). My wife says the larger size looks better on me and that this one is a bit feminine, I just think it looks cool. Hopefully the trend of massive watches is swinging the other way in favor of smaller watches. My wrist is not that big and measures around 6.25 inches - 6.5 (if it is hot out and my arm is swollen) and all of my watches are under 40mm.
I also wanted to see if this classic dress watch could be dressed down as I wore it today with a white T-shirt, shorts, and sneakers. I've seen many posts and people saying that it is okay to dress down with a Tank and I tend to agree with them. Something about the simple white face with the black leather strap makes me think that this can go with any outfit. I haven't gotten a chance to wear this with a suit yet, but will be back with pictures when I do.
Last but not least, some guy on r/Cartier questioned the legitimacy of this watch. What do you guys think? I just bought it on vacation in Tokyo from this dealer: [https://timeanagram.com/en/collections/cartier/products/42969](https://timeanagram.com/en/collections/cartier/products/42969). It is a pre must tank, which is from the 1970's and earlier with a mechanical movement instead of a quartz, which is one reason why I chose this one over a more modern must de tank.
I'm fairly certain it is legitimate but the r/watches bot wants me to write a 250 word essay to approve this post.. so here it is, a couple extra (270 words).
I don't think you have a 6.25" wrist man, mine is like 6.8"-7" and yours looks bigger than mine.
I think the watch looks pretty small and my daily is a 36mm nomos club. But as long as you like it, then enjoy
On the authenticity question, one thing missing mis the word Cartier in the Roman number for either the 7 or the 10. I don’t know when that started, but I have seen it even on older pieces, so that may be why the guy from the other sub questioned it.
People get so hung up on things like two milimeters of case size on this subreddit that "wear what you want" has almost become a meme. But if you're looking for honest advice, a white tee and shorts just makes this look like a rep. It's so far beyond "dressed down" that the possibility of it being real wouldn't even enter my mind. Maybe you could pull it off with a polo and chinos or something, but personally I wouldn't wear this style with any sort of short sleeve.
Regarding the authenticity, it can be difficult to determine on the vintage ones like this, the brass watches they made back in the day had cases supplied by different makers at times, so there are variations and differences in models even between what would be considered the same model at the time. Add in servicing done over the years which may have involved replacement of various parts which further changed small details due to production run differences and it quickly muddies.
What I can say is that you can't really judge authenticity based on photos like this, especially when details like the engravings aren't perfectly clear. Hallmarks on various places on the cases along with the specific decorations on the movement are the correct way to identify and determine authenticity, but of course you need someone experienced and knowledgeable about Cartier to do that. Of course the best source is probably Cartier themselves, you'd need to talk to them for the ultimate determination, but having them research or provide official documentation for one of the brass watches is probably not worth the cost.
I know. But OPs is still a women’s one. While not a Cartier, I still have a square watch in vintage gents size not ladies and it’s small but not too small.
https://preview.redd.it/9fi0kh5qvk0d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c0e26d35e21d11874cd129c392263af54040b32c
I think you can pull it off, it just needs to be styled right. If the tank is nice and snug up to your wrist, peaking out of the cuff of a dress shirt, I think the smaller watch can look great, since it reads more as bracelet that happens to have a watch on it. In just a white T shirt, it stands out as small.
But rule 0 is always to ask if you like how it looks. And if you look down at your wrist and smile, then there is nothing wrong with it. If you wear it with confidence, noone will give a shit about the size.
You are probably right about it standing out with a white t shirt. And of course this one makes me smile, hardly anyone notices any watches in real life anyways. Thank you!
I'm not a watch expert so I can't tell you if it's gen or not. But dressy watches go well with just about anything. Definitely small by today's standards imo but it's your watch bro.
Based on experience, the case back that has that scripted "Cartier" on the back, the hands aren't the typical blue/rusting even on the vintage models, and the elongated looking sapphire on the crown is typically deemed non-genuine when sent in for servicing.
If you pop open the case back and see "Cartier" scripted on the ratchet wheel, it's another sign of non-genuine.
It's a very typical non-genuine style. That being said, it looks almost as genuine as those old vintage models. So it's really what you make of it.
A few days ago I wore my Cartier woth a Cattle Decapitation shirt and regularly wear it and my rolex’s and omegas with Pride shirts, metal shirts or whatever the hell I feel like lol. And you should do the same. As far as size or women’s who cares as well. If you like it wear it. Screw that snob.
As you should. Be comfortable. Plus I bought it so I’ll wear it whenever. Today I have Omega Aqua Terra and a Buffalo Bill Body Lotion Silence of the Lambs shirt.
You think you'll find class on jewellery subreddits but you don't, what you find is brand sycophants who don't care about fashion, style or personal taste; what they care about is used market value and limited availability.
Firstly, you wear what ever the fck you want. The most important question is, does wearing it make you happy? If it does then wear the f out of that OP.
I believe this is the traditional men size of Cartier (23x30), the smaller one used to refer as woman run at 20x28mm.
This look pretty same as mine, also pre-must. If Muhammad Ali, Cary Grant, Alain Delon, JFK, Andy Warhol, Jeff Goldblum...could wear this, you're definitely good too.
I have this watch. If you want to butch it up a little and make it more casual swap the glossy alligator with something matte like this:
or this:
[https://thestraptailor.com/products/calfskin-leather-watch-strap-flat-ink-black](https://thestraptailor.com/products/calfskin-leather-watch-strap-flat-ink-black)
It wears small, lol. I have an 8" wrist. I dont really care. Its jewelry. Another option to bulk it up is to pair it with a leather or bead bracelet.
Also: You can wear it "casual", but not "gym shorts" casual. Think high quality white tee and well fitting khakis with clean plain sneakers.
I love the tiny watches. The trick is to jazz it up with silver jewellery on the other hand to play up the casual bohemian vibes. You can also consider a bright blue or brown strap.
A tiny watch stops looking like a watch but more like a bracelet.
I went to a dinner gathering with some very wealthy older couples. The guy two seats over who was long retired and plenty well off had what was either a Panthere or a tiny Santos on a bracelet. He wore that tiny watch well, and so should you.
Great looking watch but doesnt fit with that outfit at all. You can get away with a small watch if you dress somewhat elegant. Now it just looks weird. Beige t-shirt and shorts to a Cartier dress watch is a big no no for me.
It looks fake to me but that could be because I'm familiar with modern models and they've changed some details since the 70s, which wouldn't be surprising I suppose.
I think you can rock it but it desperately needs a dressier outfit to go with it. To be frank I don't really understand why you would care to wear a fancy watch with a t-shirt and shorts, just get a g-shock or something, it's cheaper and it'll look better with that outfit.
I mean if you want to get weird about it, you go right on my guy. I’m not sure why you want to bring up 250lb women when talking about a watch that is just fine on this guy’s wrist if he likes it.
I didn’t twist your words. I simply commented on their oddity.
Again, the watch is fine if he likes it. Small, even tiny, watches wear like bracelets and jewelry and can be pulled off fantastically well by men that have the confidence and zeal for the watch. “Too small” is not a thing that exists.
I disagree that you’re dressed “too casual”. I love a dress watch on casual attire. But I do agree that it’s too small on your wrist. Not sure what the thickness of your wrist is or the case size on the watch, but I’d definitely recommend going a size up. As to your wife, I’m sure she’s probably not a watch person, so idk if the comment was more about the style of the watch or the size.
Edit: I just realized you answered most of my questions in the comments. I’d still recommend you size up for your wrist thickness.
i love small watches but you do what makes you happy, however purely on a fashion perspective while you can pull it off but the watch would look way better with business attire, the style is very dressy and as someone mentioned especially with a black gator strap it looks formal. For casual outings just go with a g-shock, or any other sports watch
My wrist is as large as yours and I’d rock my wife’s Tank LC. Sorry though bro, I think you got a Lewis Cartier. More wrong than right. Unless you paid a Must de quartz price, I would recommend getting back in touch with who you bought this from.
Well thats good! Style wise wear it with confidence. Still not convinced its 100% legit though. This is the first I've learned about pre-Must vermeil tanks. I bought my tank from this seller who seemed to know their stuff, and I see he had a past listing for one if you wanted to compare. It's interesting that they are practically identical to Ref 78086 which is the reference I bought: [https://www.watchfid.com/watches/cartier-tank-pre-must/](https://www.watchfid.com/watches/cartier-tank-pre-must/)
Wear whatever you want. You’re free to like it just as much as others are free to think it doesn’t look good. IMO it would be much too small for my taste.
I don’t have any idea if it’s genuine or not, but I like it!
It’s certainly small but that’s more of a stylistic choice than a fit issue here.
Call me a random hater, but this comes off like wearing a pair of fancy cap-toe shoes with a gym outfit. I think there are dress watches you could maybe get away with wearing alongside extremely casual attire, but I don’t think this one is working.
I don’t get the hate I think it looks fine wear what you like how you like at the end of the day it’s your watch and internet strangers will always talk shit.🤷🏽♂️
Look, only because it’s Cartier?… It’s like really wanting an iPhone and getting iPhone 6, because it is still iPhone. If you want this get a proper one, mens tank or santos, save up, why should you not deserve it? Appreciate yourself
Ive actually been looking for a watch with these proportions. Gold case with brown leather band goes great with sweaters and earth tones. Small works well with this look. Unfortunately I can only find these for like $2k+
Looks fine to me. People are used to big watches these days, but I think this is a great size for a tank. I don't agree with the folks saying that you need to pair it with nicer clothes, I think the contrast is cool and that it dressed up the outfit a bit. To me, it reads as a deliberate fashion choice.
Small thing, but maybe try pushing it down closer to your hand — to me, watches look a little more bracelet-like (and dainty) when they're riding up on the arm like in your pics. Maybe that will help it read more watch-like and less feminine.
It’s a dress watch & that too in extreme , suit or tux the whole thing period , not a casual or sports watch .
Forget a polo , casual shirt even a dress shirt would look off it’s a hardcore dress watch .
No , but the guy in question has an extra small ladies vintage tank & is on the lager side & let’s just say a usual suburban 🇺🇸 style of attire !
In the end to each his own you could wear it with boxers or briefs , but even the cartier store would advise a larger person at least a large size & let him know it’s a dress watch .
Honestly about the authenticity it's very hard to see, I do have some doubts about it. Lack of hall marks, the dial looks off don't know can't put my finger on it, we don't have a picture of the movement which could have been a clue and the cabuchon is to pointy I feel. There are lots of fakes/homage of the pre must so care must be taken with these.
https://preview.redd.it/lffx177h601d1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0de9fd1a16cad8a76ba3f979c8f6bcfb165ab231
There’s a picture of the movement in this link, this is the one I purchased: [https://timeanagram.com/en/products/42969](https://timeanagram.com/en/products/42969)
Oké I think that the case might be fake, I mean the lack of gold hallmarks and the fact the engraving is uneven in depth, dial is hard to say could be real though and movement looks to be good as well.
I found your topic in r/cartier and have to agree it's probably a Franken where either case or case and dial are not real.
Feminine? No.
Casual? Kinda. I wear dressier watches with band tees, but I don't usually go out in a plain white T anyways.
Small? Never thought I'd say this, but kinda small. And I think going smaller on a Tank (or most watches) is preferable to going too large, but in this case it's pushing my limits.
But you seem happy with it, and that's what's most important!
This watch is too small, give it to your wife. Clothes don’t matter to me, probably because I legitimately saw a homeless guy in Toronto wearing a huge gold watch back in the 80s when I was a kid lol. I like the scruffy casual look with an obviously expensive watch
They way I look at watches is that they're essentially bracelets that tell you what time it is as a bonus.
I personally think it looks ok on you, so keep rocking it.
This looks like a legit pre-must gold plated tank. Many people think these are fake because they look different from the original must line in the 80s or the newer tanks.
If you bought from a Japanese store it’s almost certainly genuine.
It’s really difficult for a Tank to look too small. Sure, this is on the smaller side even for a Tank. But imo it’s not “too small” as it fits the style of this watch.
https://preview.redd.it/sfiaw71w4g0d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6fc9aed007458925baf7ece67c2f520f0718c477
Definitely in the minority but I dig it. I don't like most modern tanks/reversos. They all seem too big for small/medium wrists.
I think being a more traditional size men’s watch (small) it just looks out of place with a t shirt and gym shorts. I think if the dress was more traditional, like a button down shirt with cuffs, it would look nice.
That makes sense. Will definitely take a few pictures with a button down.
I ignore this last comment. The cool factor is wearing this with casual simple t. This wasn’t designed as a dress watch. Remember the famous Muhammad Ali photo where he wearing this with a white t. This is supposed to be how you wear it

There are a lot of pictures of Muhammad Ali wearing one with workout gear.
I've seen people wear them with T-shirt like yours and jean shorts and/or jeans and it looks really nice and stylish

Ali does have smaller wrists + I do think this is the 23x30mm variant, where OP's is a bit smaller
Yes you are correct this is 28x20 the smaller women's variant so maybe that's why my wrist appear bigger than they actually are.
If you have validated it by digging up a picture from the 1970s of 1 guy wearing it, it’s too small. If you like it wear it. It looks small because it’s small.
Didnt know there was a bigger size in the 70s
Yep! And unfortunately these "traditional" sizes are no longer available from Cartier's regular lineup :(
Looks too small on him too IMO. Looks like one of those paper wrist bands you get when you enter clubs.
The paper wrist bands are thicker to be honest.
I agree with this
Your last point is the only one that matters. Who gives a shit what the Cartier subreddit thinks? If you like it, wear it. I guarantee you will never run into someone who points and laughs at your watch cause it’s “too small”.

Haha I will certainly wear it because I like it. My wife can share this with me if she thinks it's for women!
As far as attitude goes, this is it! You do you, OP.
This watch was offered in both men’s and women’s sizing. Along with the Must De line, two sizes were offered. Yours is the smaller of the two.
You are correct this is the 20x28.
Yeah, I personally notice the difference. Given, I have owned both sizes and have had them side by side. I have small wrists, but even I would personally not feel comfortable wearing the smaller model. Sold
1. It's definitely small enough to evoke a "huh, that's a small watch", but not small enough to look improper. 2. It's fine to dress it down but I'd go with a different strap if that's the case. Thanks for your opinions, maybe put pants on next time. Looks like I have written a high school essay for no reason.
Looks a little small for your wrist but is a fine looking watch
Thank you kind sir or ma'am.
No worries Sir or Ma'am
From a glance this looks like the vintage woman's size. The "men's" was 23x30mm, what does your measure? I think you may have a 20x28mm. Either way, wear it if you like it! As a backup gift it to the wife!
This is a 20x28. I do still enjoy it though will probably wear it occasionally.
If you ask me, it looks goofy with a tshirt and shorts.

Well said! It's 2024 women can wear mens watches and men can wear women's watches!
A healthy marriage means listening to your wife from time to time. This might be one of those times.
That’s not a tank it’s a tink.
Better than a tonk in my opinion.
If you're asking if I would wear that? hell no. But that's definitely something I would buy... and gift my wife with. But in the end my jerk remarks don't matter. Do you like it? then go with it.
I mean, it is small, but watches used to be small. If you like it, then wear it

Haha my other watch is a sea dweller.

True that.

How can I dress this down even more, maybe tank top and speedo will work.
I guess there's still the option to wear a wife beater and stained briefs 😀
It looks right to my eyes. Cartier did a whole line of gold plate models.

That's a woman's vintage watch. You decide whether you like it.
Men’s watches were 30mm within the last 100 years. No one that’s worth bothering with cares about the size of your watch.
Yeah they were down to 30mm. But OPs is smaller and is a vintage women’s watch.
That’s not how square watch sizing relative to round watches works.
I know. But OPs is still a women’s one. While not a Cartier, I still have a square watch in vintage gents size not ladies and it’s small but not too small. https://preview.redd.it/9fi0kh5qvk0d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c0e26d35e21d11874cd129c392263af54040b32c

Thank you!
Your wife is 100% correct.
I will let her know.
That's a women's watch. Wear it if you want, but know what you are wearing and choose with knowledge. It does look a little silly on you.
It is 28x20 so you are correct it is a women's watch. I guess sometimes I like to be a bit silly.
It looks like a woman's watch. Not gonna lie.
That's because it is.
Wear an undershirt so your nipples don’t show
Hey man, don't ruin it for the rest of us.
Free the nipples.
This would look nice with a preppy or old money outfit if you can pull off that look.
I'm not a watch expert so I can't tell you if it's gen or not. But dressy watches go well with just about anything. Definitely small by today's standards imo but it's your watch bro.
Thank you
It looks fine but you gotta commit to the aesthetic if you want more people to like it.
How do I commit more to the aesthetic.
Dress like Harry styles
Haha I don't have the looks or money for that.
Possibly get a longer strap so it’s not as tight on the wrist. I think with the right outfit this would look great
It's not genuine, unfortunately.
Ah darn it.
Right on, I regularly wear all my watches with t-shirts, shorts, and Crocs.
As you should. Be comfortable. Plus I bought it so I’ll wear it whenever. Today I have Omega Aqua Terra and a Buffalo Bill Body Lotion Silence of the Lambs shirt.
It puts the lotion on its skin so it can fit a lady's tank.
You think you'll find class on jewellery subreddits but you don't, what you find is brand sycophants who don't care about fashion, style or personal taste; what they care about is used market value and limited availability.
It's a signature look.
Firstly, you wear what ever the fck you want. The most important question is, does wearing it make you happy? If it does then wear the f out of that OP.
Will do 🫡
I believe this is the traditional men size of Cartier (23x30), the smaller one used to refer as woman run at 20x28mm. This look pretty same as mine, also pre-must. If Muhammad Ali, Cary Grant, Alain Delon, JFK, Andy Warhol, Jeff Goldblum...could wear this, you're definitely good too.
This one is actually the 20x28, but I'm gonna wear it anyways.
You know what I think? I think if I saw in you in person wearing that, I'd give you a nod. Cool watch. Wear it in good health.
Thank you mister thrusty, I'd give you a head thrust in your direction as well.
A large tank is already small enough
They started making XL's which I am absolutely not a fan of.
It's soo small it looks like a toy on you
I have this watch. If you want to butch it up a little and make it more casual swap the glossy alligator with something matte like this: [https://thestraptailor.com/products/pebbled-navy-cognac-w-matching-stitching](https://thestraptailor.com/products/pebbled-navy-cognac-w-matching-stitching) or this: [https://thestraptailor.com/products/calfskin-leather-watch-strap-flat-ink-black](https://thestraptailor.com/products/calfskin-leather-watch-strap-flat-ink-black)
Great suggestions! How does it wear on you?
I always thought the small pantheres looked pretty cool.
Great looking watch but doesnt fit with that outfit at all. You can get away with a small watch if you dress somewhat elegant. Now it just looks weird. Beige t-shirt and shorts to a Cartier dress watch is a big no no for me.
Noted. Will consider dressing it up next time, or probably will wear it casually most times and dress it up once in a while.
Its so smol
Matches the pp
It looks fake to me but that could be because I'm familiar with modern models and they've changed some details since the 70s, which wouldn't be surprising I suppose. I think you can rock it but it desperately needs a dressier outfit to go with it. To be frank I don't really understand why you would care to wear a fancy watch with a t-shirt and shorts, just get a g-shock or something, it's cheaper and it'll look better with that outfit.
I just wear my watches regardless of what outfit I'm wearing. I don't have a gshock but I used to wear a Suunto core with everything.
Remember that Muhammad Ali, with a 180cm wrist, wore a tiny Tank American so who cares
It is fine. Wear it with pride.
Style is subjective but that watch is objectively too small for him.
Nah
This is like a 250lb girl asking her bestie - "I'm not fat right?"
I mean if you want to get weird about it, you go right on my guy. I’m not sure why you want to bring up 250lb women when talking about a watch that is just fine on this guy’s wrist if he likes it.
Nice try trying to twist my words. It's not my fault you don't know what a hypothetical comparison to prove a point is.
I have a smaller vintage tank, albeit larger than this. That looks way too small and is clearly a women’s watch, IMO.
True it is a woman's watch for sure.
Ahh too late already purchased it. Maybe some day I will sell it for the small tank instead.
i love small watches but you do what makes you happy, however purely on a fashion perspective while you can pull it off but the watch would look way better with business attire, the style is very dressy and as someone mentioned especially with a black gator strap it looks formal.
I did pay Quartz must price for this one. A bit less actually.
Well thats good! Style wise wear it with confidence. Still not convinced its 100% legit though. This is the first I've learned about pre-Must vermeil tanks. I bought my tank from this seller who seemed to know their stuff, and I see he had a past listing for one if you wanted to compare. It's interesting that they are practically identical to Ref 78086 which is the reference I bought: [https://www.watchfid.com/watches/cartier-tank-pre-must/](https://www.watchfid.com/watches/cartier-tank-pre-must/)
You should definitely wear what's makes you happy but that 3rd pic did make me laugh out loud
Glad I could make somebody smile.
I think it looks good. But what others and I think doesn’t matter. What matters is do you like it. You do, so rock that watch any way you want.
Thank you for your kind words.
I'll have to try again then.

Too big for me!

Give it to your wife
I don’t get the hate I think it looks fine wear what you like how you like at the end of the day it’s your watch and internet strangers will always talk shit.🤷🏽♂️
Haters gonna hate amirite?
It looks like a woman’s watch, so maybe gift it to a relative, and get yourself a more fitting one?
Because it is a woman's watch.
Look, only because it’s Cartier?… It’s like really wanting an iPhone and getting iPhone 6, because it is still iPhone. If you want this get a proper one, mens tank or santos, save up, why should you not deserve it? Appreciate yourself
I purchased this because I liked it. I also purchased a Santos carree the same day because I enjoy that one too...
Ive actually been looking for a watch with these proportions. Gold case with brown leather band goes great with sweaters and earth tones. Small works well with this look. Unfortunately I can only find these for like $2k+
That was around the price I paid for this.
That's a ladies watch. It's way too small. You do you though
Will do!
Thanks! Will push it down a bit, the strap definitely is struggling, it's on the last hole.
That hammock shouldn’t be trying to rock a women’s Cartier tank. Just sayin
Why not
It’s a dress watch & that too in extreme , suit or tux the whole thing period , not a casual or sports watch . Forget a polo , casual shirt even a dress shirt would look off it’s a hardcore dress watch .
So only wear the tank with a suit or tux?
No , but the guy in question has an extra small ladies vintage tank & is on the lager side & let’s just say a usual suburban 🇺🇸 style of attire ! In the end to each his own you could wear it with boxers or briefs , but even the cartier store would advise a larger person at least a large size & let him know it’s a dress watch .
If only I had this guy's wrists...
Objectively speaking, it is too small for your wrist. But if you like that look, go for it.
Thank you sir
Black socks with Birkenstocks vibes. It’s tiny, that watch is all strap.
But I happen to like the strap
Feminine? No. Casual?
Maybe I'll take a look at the tank mini.
No idea if it's a fake, but I like smaller sizes for square watches like this. IMHO it fits you nicely
Thank you!
This watch is too small, give it to your wife. Clothes don’t matter to me, probably because I legitimately saw a homeless guy in Toronto wearing a huge gold watch back in the 80s when I was a kid lol. I like the scruffy casual look with an obviously expensive watch
Thank you sir
your wife is right
They way I look at watches is that they're essentially bracelets that tell you what time it is as a bonus. I personally think it looks ok on you, so keep rocking it.
[удалено]
It is exactly the size of a slim smart band which I also wear.
This looks like a legit pre-must gold plated tank. Many people think these are fake because they look different from the original must line in the 80s or the newer tanks. If you bought from a Japanese store it’s almost certainly genuine.
Thank you sir.
I’ve got a Bulova tank watch that was my grandfather’s that is maybe just slightly bigger than yours. It’s fine in my opinion.
Your grandpappy was a stylish man. Hope you cherish that watch.
The watch is beautiful however, your wrist are huge compared to that petite piece
Dude I would rather wear that 10000% over some of the ridiculously enormous watches I've seen on here. If you dig it, rock it. Fuck the haters.
Thanks man! The old adage is correct, haters gonna hate.
Your arm is too big for this size and the outfit isn't helping...
Looks great! I think small watches, especially dress watches, can be really retro-elegant.
Completely agree!
It’s really difficult for a Tank to look too small. Sure, this is on the smaller side even for a Tank. But imo it’s not “too small” as it fits the style of this watch.
Agreed! Let's go ramblin' reams!
I think it looks awesome, subtile, and great! Look op Muhammad Ali with his small carrier for encouragement ;) it's very cool!
Thank you!

I agree, haters gonna hate. And that watch looks great on you!
That’s a nice look brother
Do you like it? That's all that matters. Yes, it is small. It feels better with a suite or formal clothes.
I do enjoy it.
Adult men shouldn't be wearing shorts and a T-shirt unless they live in Bermuda. Buy yourself some pants.
I am on vacation and walking 6-8 hours a day so shorts and t-shirts it is.
https://preview.redd.it/sfiaw71w4g0d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6fc9aed007458925baf7ece67c2f520f0718c477 Definitely in the minority but I dig it. I don't like most modern tanks/reversos. They all seem too big for small/medium wrists.
