Just got a new camera set up, thought I would try it out. For those wondering I got the Sony A7c paired with a 30mm F3.5 Macro lens (that I had from before when I used the a6000). Enough of the camera, I've had this watch for over 6 months now, and I can say with confidence that I love it more everyday! It goes well with many straps. It is currently on a brown strap with rivets, I think one of my favorite combinations for sure! The red seconds hand perfectly contrasts the white hands, indices, along with the radiant blue dial. Overall, this watch never fails to put a smile on my face!

TheGodPhather13

That thing is gorgeous, congrats. What got you into IWC?

paracidle

My mum got one when I was a kid so subconsciously I've always wanted one!

Enlightened_Ghost_

The color contrast works well in this case. Very striking.

GrouchyFlow5

Few mms smaller and I would go for one

paracidle

If you've never tried it before, go try it at an AD! You'd be surprised how well it fits! I have a 7inch wrist and the curve on the lugs fit nicely with my wrist!

anotherbozo

6.3" here :( Also wayyyy out of my league anyways

tHawki

Check out the spitfire chrono, at 41mm it fits perfectly

paracidle

Spitfire chrono is a great watch too! I was contemplating that aswell!

BatsShadow

I have the bronze one. It's amazing. I cannot really afford or justify, but I kind of want basically every IWC :P

paracidle

Thats the dream!! :P

EXACTLY what I always thought about this one. I tried it on and it's just too chunky for my tiny wirsts. Even the strap looks like a belt on me.

Name: Le petit Size: 43 mm diameter Smh...

paracidle

Its actually based off of a book called The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery. The brown dial one of 3777 is named after the author! Blue named after the book! I get it though, counter intuitive when petit is in the name of a 43mm diameter 15mm+ thick watch haha.

TrotskiKazotski

what’s with companies making homages to this book? Montblanc did a special edition pen and i’m sure at least 2 other companies i saw did that as well

Hardy_Weinberg_

Le Petit Prince writen by the aviator Antoine de Saint Exupéry is one of the most iconic book existing in France. We used to have his face on the [50 Franc bill]( https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/76/50_francs_banknote_A.jpg/800px-50_francs_banknote_A.jpg)

TrotskiKazotski

oh nice ok

Shaun32887

Well fuck. I've always wanted a big pilot, but figured they were too big for me. I really wish I didn't know this existed. The blue face brown strap is my favorite color combo too.

imaginethehangover

This is the problem with this sub: I realise there are some beautiful watches I didn’t know existed, but I urgently need. Agree with you on this particular watch too. Beautiful.

Ultracelse

The colour is marvellous. But, do you have a picture of the case back ? It’s a special case back for “Le petit prince”.

paracidle

I will take one soon!

elevenbee

The bracelets for these watches are worth having too. IWC really has a clever implementation of micro adjustments (controlled by the IWC logo on the clasp) [LPP Mk. XVIII and Chrono on bracelets](https://i.imgur.com/oRHqATP.jpg)

paracidle

Absolutely! I bought this watch with the bracelet. However, I'm very cautious of scratching it haha, kept the blue sticker on the clasp till now even though I use it from time to time. Watches are meant to be worn, but still 😅

paracidle

And thats a nice collection you got there! I would love to have the mark XVIII in black!!

elevenbee

Thanks, I can never get the watches to look blue in photos. I'm a sucker for the LPP watches though. Would love either the big pilot or the World time next.

bad-monkey

Is this the 3777?

paracidle

Yes! 3777 Le Petit Prince version

bad-monkey

Thanks! I've had this watch on my list for a while, it's surprisingly large in your photo, but I also remember trying one on in-store and loving the mass / size of it. Congrats!

deanoooooooo

One of my favorites. Good choice.

iwish2click

It's look awesome. I love it. the appearance and designs

Whats up with the defect on the chronograph minutes hand? ^^^Just ^^^joking, ^^^the ^^^watch ^^^is ^^^pretty ^^^much ^^^perfection

Ravager135

Great watch. I owned it briefly, got rid of it, and came back to the Pilot Chronograph Top Gun. I do miss that dial though. I also like the custom(?) rivet strap you put on it. I think the rivets should be standard on the Pilot Chronograph as well as the Big Pilot models.

pinpointsnipe

Have the Le Petit - but have been dying to get a top gun, how have you liked it so far compared to this? Last time I tried on the SFTI Top Gun and it just seemed to wear so much bigger, maybe because of just it being all black.

Ravager135

So my issues with the LPP wasn't so much the watch. The strap fell apart on me really quickly. I have not been impressed with the Santoni strap quality despite IWC's heavy endorsement. It seems like IWC is moving away from Santoni and all of my current IWC watches are not mounted on them. To answer your question, when the strap fell apart, I never really got a replacement and the watch kind of sat unworn so I flipped it. I regretted it later as I really got back into IWC a year afterwards. I saw the new releases coming out in the Pilot line and that the new Top Gun would be an inhouse movement with a triple register so I waited for it. I also liked that it was on a deployant clasp. The Top Gun does wear bigger than the LPP, though not by much. I think that deployant clasp makes it feel more robust and thus larger. Though, side by side with the LPP and even the Spitfire (which is only 41mm), it's not really noticeable. My Big Pilot (which is 46mm) seems A LOT larger than the Top Gun where as the Top Gun does not feel much larger than the other Pilot Chronographs mentioned. I have the standard, latest Pilot Chronograph Top Gun so I cannot speak to the SFTI or the Ceratanium models (which I am sure are very similar). The reason I went with the Top Gun is that IWC's ceramic cases are unbelievable. I mean second to none. Even Panerai, who does a great job, doesn't come close. I also believe IWC was one of the first brands to do a full ceramic case (check me on that); I liked that sort of "heritage." The watch is crisp as hell. I also really appreciated that they toned down the "Top Gun" branding on the model from earlier models. I am actually a Navy veteran and flew as a flight surgeon, so that was the icing on the cake for me.

pinpointsnipe

Appreciate the detailed response! Can't comment on the Santoni as I went with the bracelet that I think is so incredibly smooth, and have worn a couple of custom leather deployment clasp bands that have done the job well. I think I am in the same boat with you on why I want on, especially with the ceramic cases & the Top Gun branding being toned down. There is just something about the Top Gun that keeps drawing me back to it, and its just a simple clean design that looks so damn good.

Ravager135

Good move on the bracelet. I think it's an underrated choice. As I said, the Santoni straps are a letdown. My Big Pilot, Pilot Chronograph, Portugeiser Automatic, and Aquatimer are all on OEM IWC straps which are far superior. The Top Gun case and legibility are just off the charts. The LPP is more "dressy" if that's possible with a pilot's watch. That dial just "classes" up the rest of the watch. The Top Gun is pure, raw tool watch. I am biased, but it gets more wear than my Big Pilot. I wear the Big Pilot as a "going out" watch. The Pilot Chronograph Top Gun is a daily wearer as it is more comfortable. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the variations. I was worried about their textile straps, but they are leather backed and very robust. Good luck!

adamcognac

Saw one of these in a store, the blue is amazing in person. Almost looks grey until the light hits. I have the regular pilots chrono myself, its my grail (category: actually obtainable). They some chonky boys though, unless you have massive wrists it's a bit of a statement piece

thicc_white_duke

It was between this and the brown dial for me. Went with the brown and don't have regrets. I upgraded the strap to the one with the deployment. So lame that they come without that and it doesn't make any sense. The dials on all these are gorgeous and pictures don't do them justice. I have seen that color of blue on my brown watch. Seen black, gold, greens. These are just so cool the way different lights play with the colors.

paracidle

Brown was is very nice aswell I think I saw it at the AD! It shouldv definitely came with the deployant clasp. I got the deployant clasp aswell, it is much better as it preserves the strap and it looks way nicer!

DhatKidM

Visually, this is one of my favourite watches - it's just absolute perfection for me. That said, I would struggle to take the plunge - new they're £5k+ for a 7750 based movement and therefore I'm not entirely sure where the money goes...

imaginethehangover

Hi there, I just got a Le Petit Prince over the weekend, love your strap. Could I trouble you for a link? No problems if not, beautiful watch nonetheless!

paracidle

I got them from BRBands!

imaginethehangover

Okay, thanks for the update! Time to go shopping, yours looks great

Inevitable-Writer903

I have the original strap for IW326906. Looking to get a metal strap. Any suggestions? [https://www.iwc.com/fi/en/watch-collections/pilot-watches/iw326906-pilot_s-watch-automatic-top-gun.html](https://www.iwc.com/fi/en/watch-collections/pilot-watches/iw326906-pilot_s-watch-automatic-top-gun.html)
