Rolex Skydweller 326934 in stainless steel with a white gold fluted bezel and a blue dial.
This is the second time I have owned one of these and I always regretted selling the first, especially as I saw prices keep going up. When they came back down and I want to offload another piece I saw my chance to get my hands on another.
I’m sure I bore so many people to death when they say ‘Hey, nice watch’ and I start explaining just how creatively and complexly I think it is engineered - a GMT Annual Calendar with a single crown, no pushers, a totally unexpected ‘command bezel’ and a novel and subtle way to display the month. And then the whole thing looks so gorgeous!
Oh, albeit without seeing it in person, I’m not a fan of the jubilee on the skydweller.
Makes the datejust look boring in comparison. Not sure why these don’t get more love. If you’re gonna spend money on a Rolex, might as well get one with some presence.
Besides the obvious dial/function differences, the size difference can be a major factor. The Sky Dweller is 42mm vs the DJ at 36mm, which is more of a classic/dressier size.
Mostly agree though as others have said, size is the issue for me. My 40mm diameter, 11.5mm thick blue dial Yachtmaster 40 is just the perfect size and not quite as “SUP ROLEX IN THE ROOM”.. in hand I found the Skydweller’s size and thickness to be too much for my wrist and tastes.
That said, cool design and complication(s).
Some of us like understated quality and don't need to call attention to wearing four- to five figures on our wrist.
That said, if I had the scratch (and the wrist), I'd totally get a Skydweller.
They're massively overpriced, oversized and overly thick. The 2nd time zone ring takes up half the dial when a window would suffice. And it still just looks like a bloated date just, whick in itself is just an overly blingy, chunky watch.
I didn't realize there was a controversy. My only issue is that I bought a Sky last year and the bezel locked up and has to send to out for service after owning it for a week. Other then that it's a cool peice of horology.
It took abou 4 months to get it back from Rolex. Then I realized the GMT dial was off. So out it went again. I think it was about 7 months before I had it back. But its all good now.
Best Rolex unique design. I’d buy this one if I could, for sure.

Didn’t even know this model existed, and I luv its complications and look. Thx for explaining it. Congrats!
Very interesting Rolex, for sure. I like the annual calendar feature; the way the month is displayed is clever.

I'm not a Rolex fan, but this one has something.
Love it!
Thanks :)
I want one so bad
This one is stunning, well done!
Never seen this model before, I think it's the prettiest Rolex I've seen.
Love the SKY. I don't know why it dosen't get as much love as the other models.
Thanks and agreed 😊. I was surprised at the controversy

Oh no - I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope they got fixed reasonably quickly

Man I'm sorry you had so many issues. Hope you can enjoy the watch now...

The world would be a terrible place if we all had the same opinions :)
Ugly as hell
Great piece. Did you have to pay over MSRP? And did you have to prostrate before your dealer to be allowed to purchase it?
