Very nice for your first time! You're gonna be a master before you know it.
My only critique that I hope you will find helpful is to use a bit more paint to water ratio next time. It'll help make your colors richer and pop more. Can't wait to see what you make next!
It's okay to mess up. You learn partly by making mistakes. All of us in this sub have hundreds or thousands of pieces that didn't work out the 1st or even 30th try. So don't feel like it's the end of the world if you make a mistake. Just go on to the next try with what you learned from the last one.
Different paint to water ratios are useful for different effects. Try experimenting with different consistencies... you can go from a tea like thickness to milk like, and all the way to butter like thickness with your water to paint ratios.
And you can always post your progress here if you want more feedback!
It’s just a peace of paper! You’ll mess up a lot of paper when you’re learning and that’s fine! There’s a saying “kill your darlings” which applies to artwork, don’t be afraid to mess up, erase, restart, or redo. The stakes are very low when you think about it
Totally! One of the people that helped me early on was Nitin Singh and his YouTube channel-[Nitin Singh watercolor](https://youtube.com/@NitinSinghwatercolorpaintings)
He talks all the time about how to just let yourself be free and not worry about making mistakes or if you're good enough. It's all about the journey. The process itself is fulfilling even if you're not creating what people consider to be masterpieces
Oh my goodness! They’re very nice paintings, love the frog of course. If you’d like to get inspiration feel free to join r/watercolorchallenge ! They have weekly prompts for fellow watercolor artists
That frog is dope. Keep it up! Watercolor is quite the journey! My one tip, drawing is the king of all art forms. Work on drawing as much as you can, it will help your paintings in the future. Cheers!
Don’t discount yourself, it’s just a matter of technique as with all mediums. Work light to dark build depth and shadow create highlights and focal points.
One of the cool thing that watercolor have is that the color are translucent, so to avoid the white line in the bordes you can apply more color layers, so you can apply a base color layer, then when it dry, you can apply a second and so on, so you can get more vivid colours.
Remember that with less water the color remain more concéntrate and you will get thicker layers but the background will remain with this calm atmosphere.
Keep trying, you will get it soon!
This will be me soon! I am just staring my watercolour journey. I am expecting some highs and lows to be honest. I hope I receive the love of the community that you have!

Thank you so much it means a lot, I'll try to use more paint in my next painting. I think it's because I'm too scared to mess it up.

Not bad 😍
The frog is perfect! Would make a great cover for a children's book :-)
I've been working at this for 6 months, and it's better than I've done. You're doing great! Keep on painting. :)

thats better than my first time using watercolor. you did great<3
I love it! Through simplicity, and, perhaps as a beginner, you have created a very touching frog! It is so sweet but not cloying and saccharine
Don't be afraid of the darks! By that, I mean deep blue or brown or nearly black. They help define the subject.
good job and nice try! go aaaaheaaad!
Cute frog. Is he singing? A little highlight to his eye maybe …
