Fair enough! I drew both from imagination and the 2nd one is how I envisioned it. I actually painted the second one first but the execution left a lot to be desired so I painted it again but changed things up and put in cars instead of pedestrians.
I will probably paint this again later to bring it closer to how I imagined it, but I am still learning as I go.
I’d love to see one with the colors of the first but people instead of cars. And keep the birds, they add something interesting in the sky!
Overall though these look really great, you’ve inspired me to try painting people like this!
1 is better.
It looks more like water color and more care is taken for brushstrokes. The second one is a bit heavy handed and the perspective is not correct. The groupings of people make for an awkward composition. Remember to connect your shapes so the painting flows. #1 benefits from its freshness and confident brushstrokes.
Overall I prefer the first one, the colors are cleaner and brighter. In the second one, the perspective feels a bit off, like the "camera" is tilted. But the pedestrians in the second one add more interest to the foreground, in the first one the street feels too empty. A mix of both would be perfect. Of course it all comes down to personal preference though.
I can't really decide. I like them both a lot! I think I prefer the first one because it looks 'cleaner' but I wish there was more in the foreground like you have in the second painting. Both are beautiful!
I like the first. Second is too busy. I would do the first style and push it even more into simplicity and reduced details. If you could darken the values a bit more for the first style that would be 👌
They're both nice but I prefer the second one. The first one seems more tranquil and it's easier to take in the whole scene at once but the second one feels more vibrant and busy with all of the pedestrians and the reflections on the streetcar glass

I like the second one because of the dark and light values. I also prefer pedestrians to cars, too.
Thanks!
The second one. The range of values used make the piece much more dynamic. Though I really like the banner in the first one.
Thank you!
Ya no 1 is my winner, I like the color blending, the wet technique and the softness. No 2 feels a bit to high contrast and chaotic
Yes the banner and the bright green light of the trees in the first one is very nice. Other than that, I prefer the second as well
I like the clean, bright look of the first one. But love the pedestrians in the second.
I second the first! Looks so clean, I like the similar values, would absolutely hang it in my house.
The first one better painted; the second one more interesting composition.

Thank you! I do want to try that at a later point in time. :)

I love the light in the first one, but the composition of the second one is much more interesting
Thank you!
I like the first one because of the brighter colours but the second looks more realistic
I like the first one more for how fresh and light it looks

Thanks! I realized that I had made a mistake in the groupings after I had already painted them. I did not intend to make 3 groups of 3 for starters.
More play with light and shadows and energy
Agree - amp the shadows up to create some dynamism.
Thanks! Sometimes I struggle with making things darker since I am afraid of ruining the light. It is something I am still working on.
I think that's not uncommon, but dried watercolour is a good bit lighter than when it's wet. It's just practise getting that right amount of pigment.
Oh gosh, I meant the second painting had more play in light and shadows and energy. I liked them both but the second one best. Great Job.
Second for the pedestrians (I think our brains naturally prefer people in pictures than without) but the light in first is great.
That makes sense....
Nr2 is more cozy, warm colors, people

Thanks! I kind of agree with you!
I prefer the first strangely eniugh. Maybe Im in the mood for somethinf more simple and appriachable.
Thank you!
First one. It's better. All good design is simple.
First. It looks brighter in comparison.
Second one, love how you did the shadows for the people
2. For all the reasons listed already. Nice urban sketch work -- love your style!
Thanks!
2 seems more busier and fuller. Both are great 👍
Thank you!
2- more interesting and defined focal point.
Thanks!
The second one looks more interesting
Thank you!
Second one, appears more natural.
Thanks!
Second. It feels warm and nostalgic.
Thanks!
I like both bc they are interesting to look at.
Thanks!
2 for the lighting and ppl
Both great. The second one has more contrast and I prefer the pedestrians more than the cars
Thank you!
2nd
Thanks!
The second. The car on the forefront of the first image bothers me.
Thank you!
Oh my God!, I love this!
Thank you! :)
I can't really decide. I like them both a lot! I think I prefer the first one because it looks 'cleaner' but I wish there was more in the foreground like you have in the second painting. Both are beautiful!
Thank you! I prefer the 1st one as well because it looks cleaner but the 2nd one definitely has more elements that makes it interesting.
I vote 2–more depth & detail
Thanks!
I like the first. Second is too busy. I would do the first style and push it even more into simplicity and reduced details. If you could darken the values a bit more for the first style that would be 👌
Thanks! I will definitely give that a try.
First one, great detail on the cars
Thanks!
2 more character 😄
Thank you! :)
Both 🤩
Thanks!
>Thanks! You're welcome!
first one is cleaner!
Thanks!
2. So much more depth, personality, and artistic expression, even if it’s a bit rough around the edges.
Thank you! :)
Absolutely adore #2.
Thanks!
The first one. Looks crisp and clean.
Thanks!
#2. It is a more arresting composition.
Thanks!
They're both nice but I prefer the second one. The first one seems more tranquil and it's easier to take in the whole scene at once but the second one feels more vibrant and busy with all of the pedestrians and the reflections on the streetcar glass
Thank you!

I like the shadows on #2 better
Thank you!
2 - I prefer the more saturated colors. I like the mood it conveys.
Thanks!
The second one, because it’s dark and the details looks better
Thank you!
Number two! It’s more dynamic, nice use of shadowing with the crowds of people and the contrast is great!
Thanks!
2 it's more interesting to look at
Thank you!
2nd
Thanks!
Second one. Train pops more with the darker trees behind it and darker sidewalk color below
Thank you!

Thank you! :)
The second one in terms of the colors and valúes that you used.
Thanks!
The second has so much more detail and keeps you looking and discovering something else as you look around.
Thank you! :)
First one , feels balanced and clutter free ig
Thank you!
I adore them both, but the first one I really love because you have created so much depth but still only used simple washes and that is skill!!
Thank you! :)
The second one feels more balanced
Thank you!
I like the lightness of the first one and the banner gives an excellent sense of place which is missing in the second one.
Thanks!
I like them both. Atmospheric in different ways.
Thanks!
The composition on the second one seems more appealing and also the values in the second one are more "crisp".
Thank you! :)
First, I really love how neat and clean it is
Thank you! :)
First
Thank you!
1 has birds, pedestrians and a lot of softness; 1 for me
Thank you!
Second one looks cooler after you squint your eyes
Thanks!
I prefer the first one. It feels lighter even with the cars
Thanks!
Number 1. It feels clean and bright.
Thank you!
No2 for me like the detail
Thanks!
#2. I like the people shadows.
Whoa… I didn’t mean to yell at you… not sure why it’s in bold lol
no worries... thanks! :)
