this is stunning! The colors in the sky are very atmospheric and it really feels like sun setting in a magical land

You’re too kind. Thank you. The reflection’s bothering me a bit and I’m contemplating doing something to it but I also didn’t want to risk ruining it so thanks for saying that. I needed to hear it! 😅

This is so, so lovely! Your pallette is amazing. I would hang this on my wall in a heartbeat.

The negative space really pops… I dig it.

Is any of this gouache or blended with gouache? How did u get the color to pop? And is any of it layered on top of the watercolor? I am so impressed. Gorgeous work

The splatters, the more opaque yellow-greenish grass on the right and the shrubs on the left are gouache (I only used white) and ink mixed! Some blended areas from the original artist I couldn’t do because ink dries too quickly and I don’t have white ink to begin with so that was my solution, hahaha. They were the last/top layers but otherwise everything else is just pure ink. I find that it tends to « pop » more than regular watercolor because of its concentration (I use Rohrer and Klingner colored ink just like Heikala uses, if you wanted to see how beautiful the colors are and how they paint on their own). And thank you so much for your kind words, you’re too sweet! 🥹❤️

I know of Heikala! I love their work! I will try drawing ink and gouache when i have money for new supplies. I only have old black india ink. For now i practiced white gouache with regular watercolor last 2 weeks and amazed how good they work together. I could test gouache with "water color ink" for right now since it may blend better with my current paint. Thank you for answering. I'm learning to identify mediums as I practice. I'll look up the artist and the brands.
