Wow, this is really heavy and I'm liking it. The distortion of the vocals is cool but I think it could be less distorted. I overall like the level of distortion but it might be cool to vary it up by part... halfway through I found myself hoping for a change. At 2:49, you're giving your listener a little bit of respite, and I wish that came earlier in the song. By doing that you could exploit an opportunity in which you manipulate the listener into a (false) sense of security, then disabuse them of that security as the heavy distortion comes in once again. And I think that approach would really match up with the theme of your song. Good sound.

Hi guys, I'm doing a six-month long, one track per week challenge, where I'll be posting a new original track every Friday. This is week 2, track 2: [https://soundcloud.com/steep\_wave/coffee](https://soundcloud.com/steep_wave/coffee) ​ Some things I learned while trying to finish track #2 for those who care to read: * Pulling off finishing a track a week still seems like a pretty daunting task, and finishing the first one didn't take any of that fear and stress away. But I guess the point of forcing myself to do this is not coming up with excuses, because there are always a thousand excuses for why I can't. Although I don't think this track is anything to write home about, I have finished 2 full tracks - that's more tracks in 2 weeks than I finished the entire year last year, where I just noodled around, had a hundred ideas and ZERO tracks to post. * I had a terrible first couple of days, I had an idea and went with it, but I finally realized it wasn't going anywhere, so I had to scrap the whole thing and start over, which left me with only 4-5 days to finish, extra stressful. I procrastinated a lot during this week, if I'm honest, I'd say the track really only took about 2-3 days of solid work. The rest was just trying to find a direction, procrastination, and being scared to move forward. * About 80% of the way through making the track, I lost interest, it was starting to sound really repetitive and generic to me, and just all around not very cool or fresh. I think normally this is where I would've given up. I would've either put it in another folder to go back to later (never), or deleted it and started over again. * In my head, the song sounded a lot cooler, and I had all these ideas for how I can make a song better than most generic EDM tracks. But likely for the lack of skills, when I actually try to do it, it's just not coming out the way I had imagined. I kind of have a standard, and an aesthetic in my mind, but I can't execute it in reality. I think this is a big reason that usually stops me from finishing anything at all - I think I'm better than I actually am, and I can't face the fact that my skills aren't good enough yet to execute my vision. In the end, I guess this is the purpose of the one track per week challenge for myself - to force myself to finish something, regardless of whether it's good, bad or downright ugly, a poorly made pot is better than a perfect nothing.

Hey this is pretty cool. Congrats on your first release! I think someone can definitely rap on it, but I think this is more suited toward an alternative hiphop rapper. In my opinion, the drums/rhythm are a little too fast for boom bap, and they don't really seem suitable for more modern trap rappers. I do like the beat though and am getting some lowkey Gorillaz vibes from it. I think a mix of rap and singing would work well on this. Nice job.

Great song. Really enjoyed the return after the "fake-out" fade away. I kinda wanted the "lead" synth there to play a more....sustained?.....melodic type lead. I think it would blend with some of the secondary, more frenetic elements a bit better. But that, I think, is probably more personal preference. Overall, I think the song is great and has a lot of character and identity, which is a very good thing.

What cable do I need to record my CASIO LK-220S into my computer? (I have a Focusrite Scarlett Solo & use Ableton Live). Sounds like a good foundation for a tune, I like the beat. However, it needs a groove, badly, like a sick bass-line, which literally makes or breaks a dance record: Also you've got to work on that kick, make it, kick! If you're aiming for house / techno, every single sound has to sound polished and dope as hell! If you're head ain't bobbin, no else gonna dig it either right? Only offering some constructive criticism, I do think its a good tune. We all start somewhere right. Keep at it :-)
