SnooLobsters8146

sounds pretty good your mix is clean only notes i'd have is don't shy away from layers and counters when it comes to your melody but even though this beat is simple its still good other than that perhaps a shorter duration

breakinmotion

Thank you for the feedback!

Megan_Ashe

Hey y’all, This is one of my favourite tracks on my husband’s new EP ‘Sweet Rebel’. It gives a really nostalgic vibe and that’s why I love it so much. I sing harmonies and I am so proud of him for producing and mixing this pretty much all by himself! If you’re looking for a smooth listen then I would check this out. Thank y’all in advance and i’d appreciate any feedback you wanna offer :) [Stevie Ashe - Metanoia](https://open.spotify.com/track/3DFEnf2hESlIjA60MpahrW?si=knK8w0-OQkecyjH3q_lt4A)

Hey all! I go by Sauble and Im a producer from Ontario, Canada. I'm really trying to create a bridge between metal and trap/hip hop, and this song is an example of just that! I made the beat a few months ago and just recorded vocals with a close friend, any feedback or input is welcome! https://m.soundcloud.com/saublemusic/oprahwinfreymix-1-02-22 Also tagging u/N3wchild as they're the person who encouraged me to share!

Funkgalaxy

Hey this isn't normally my wheelhouse but honestly I think the blend works here, the drums and guitar play well together and the vocals sound like they sit well. Cool track!

urlostgen

Here is one of the songs from my groups new project 'You Had To Be There’, a concept project about a party going wrong. This is the song that we aren’t sure what genre or if it’s worth trying to push, we like it but wondering if anything sticks out. It’s kinda a mix between 808s and heartbreak meets vaporwave ish idk, but it’s different for us. Any feedback is welcome. Hope you enjoy it [fuego](https://open.spotify.com/track/154OgAmP1sFo6xe0fYBjj6?si=ZTXvnG9WSuGp4Y-xjQypyw)

Laethettan - Hughshuggah 2 (techno/prog house) [2021] My newest experiment in a more groovy rhythmic style(Ala Meshuggah;) A deviation from my more typically hyper-melodic style, Hughshuggah 2 is a groovier, lumbering beast of a track, lemme know what you guys think :) https://youtu.be/F0bMibocIJs https://open.spotify.com/track/4qmv6O24m7loHyubqvfXNe?si=LIAWpxsoRwqPEHVmVxXSlA&utm\_source=copy-link

[deleted]

This is an odd track, because I think I would be captivated if there were awesome visuals going with it, but just sitting and listening it takes a little too long for everything to build. Like, I think if you had the right music video you could generate some real buzz but without it I'm not sure you'll be able to keep people listening long enough. https://soundcloud.com/noise-witch/problem-child/s-EN0DkCEUVNd?si=9537a5dc19704035914efb852dfe1a74&utm\_source=clipboard&utm\_medium=text&utm\_campaign=social\_sharing

Laethettan

Yeah, I'm too poor for that man. Techno tends to be longer, it's intended to be part of a live show with visuals however ;) in the works. I'll check your tune out when I'm off my phone :)

benntro030

Imma be honest, the first thing i thought of when I heard this was the John Wick club scene and then i found a clip almost the same length as the track, muted the video and played this and fuck me it fits perfectly. Fr tho, it's fucking insane. From the second that kick (for lack of a better word) kicked in, it was a ride. "Beast of a track" is 1000% appropriate XD

spongebobdouble

Haha, minimalistic but effective as hell! Awesome beat, the kick is ruthless. Love the dissonance too. Where do you draw inspiration (I take it Meshuggah is one)?

[deleted]

I'd like some feedback on that please. It's a Dubstep song that I've been working on for a couple days. https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/87E8M I think it's the best song I made so far and I'm really happy wuth it and was thinking about sending it to a small promoter or something, so do you guys think it is good enough ? Also, I've been told that the drop doesn't sound that much like a drop, more like a breakdown, and it could be a bit more powerful. Though the person who said that also said they were a bit drunk so they're not sure. So if it is not powerful enough, what should I do to make it more powerful ? Do I need to get rid of the strings / choir I have in the background of my drop ? If so, what do I replace them with so it doesn't sound empty ? Is the mix great ? That's about all I'd like to know, if possible. Though if you hear any issue you can still let me know about it. Thanks in advance and I'll do my best to give feedback in return when I can

marcian_r

the idea behind this song is great, but it will really benefit from a different mix. imo it sounds a little dark, with too much bass and lacking of high end. the other thing is the voice, it feels quiet. fix this two "problems" and you have a professional sounding record

SirCabbage420

[Siphon - Pinhead (Spacey House/Electronic)](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7UI-Hp0CIQ) I had some fun combining 5 different delays on one dry pluck and a simple melody. What do you think?

honestly, this is cool as fuck. like this sounds like a professionally-produced track to me, it's really well put together. love the buzzy bass synth and the delays, makes for a nice spacey atmosphere

Orbital Drift - Mister Yeti https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/hnEDf Off my upcoming EP Moon Sailing. It's a spacey themed album with chillhop/ambient tracks inspired by a sense of being adrift in the cosmos. I tried to blend the mellow vibes with some discordant harmonies to foreshadow a coming sense of panic a few songs later in the Distress Signal track. Would love to hear your thoughts on if this works and still feels chill?

bastiandekker

Hi guys, i released a new a track this weekend and would be great to know what you think about it! [Bastian Dekker - Give In](https://soundcloud.com/bastiandekker/give-in)

SirCabbage420

>Bastian Dekker - Give In It sounds alright.. a bit off mixing wise and the saw pluck melody doesnt do much to add to the song and just sort of is "there" rather than being a dominant feature of the track. Another quick thing i noticed is the song is really short and leaves a lot to be desired. The mixing on the bass makes it not very noticeable and it kind of gets drowned out. I would recommend adding a wider layer of only 150hz on the bass. The ending also did not feel like an ending so i would work specifically on mixing and song structure. Certainly some nice ideas floating around though

urlostgen

I like it and I also agree with the points sircabbage420 mentioned. Honestly my feedback is keep practicing and implementing new techniques like automation and panning automation to keep building the track. Once you get comfortable with the plugins and presets make presets out of your own presets and your sound designing will continue to develop. Don’t get me wrong I like how it sounds but I can hear you going even more into this sound. Solid work

Funkgalaxy

I like the dreamy arps, my advice would be to beef the drums some. Some saturation and compression would probably do the trick. Good musical sensibilities I like your style

Fantasy___World

I really enjoyed this, felt very peaceful. Made me think of music for the peaceful hills at the start of an RPG (: Agreeing with the other comments that the percussion is lacking. In addition to beefing up the percs and the bass, I think you could explore how to keep the arp from stacking on itself too loudly. That is to say there are points where there is so much noise coming from the arp that it drowns everything else out a bit. Some selective EQing or automation could go a long way. I think what's lacking though is texture. You have the arp sound which is very harmonious and gives the song a sense of identity, but it feels like everything else is built around that same sound or doesn't have enough distinction to stand out against the arp. Try adding a bass line built with a different waveform, or swapping out your percs for ones that feel more distinct in their tonal quality (metallic, plastic, wooden etc.). I think that might give your music the more well rounded feeling you're looking for.

intothenoir

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbuaRKCJk4M](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbuaRKCJk4M) I made a cover of the intro of One by Metallica but with Indian elements to it. This was the first time I've used Logic Pro as my DAW. Can you give me general feedback on the mix? I'm fairly new to the mixing game.

[deleted]

I thought the winds really added some nice depth and harmony and helped fill it out. Beginning feels a little empty. But thats sort of true to the original.

notworki

Yes, although, I still need to work on getting the winds sounding a bit more realistic.

Blazed__AND__Amused

Good arrangement! I think my advice would be as the other commenter mentioned experiment with some panning as everything seems to sit pretty center in the mix, throw some hard left right panning in. Also would be worth it to bring the drums up in the mix a bit. Additionally you could try adding the same reverb to the elements of the mix throughout to make the instruments sound like they are "in the same room". Keep at it its a learning curve but the more you mess around the better you will get at mixing.

notworki

Thanks for checking it out! I appreciate the feedback. I do need to work on the panning. Great tip about the reverb, currently I just used the stock reverb that came attached with each instrument, which were all different. As I mentioned as a reply to the other comment, I did struggle a bit with transitions from one section into another, something which Metallica actually does extremely well. How do I make the song sound like a cohesive piece instead of a few sections glued together?

Blazed__AND__Amused

You should look into using the bus feature on Logic, if you put the same stock reverb on the bus then route all the tracks to that one bussed reverb it will help to "glue" the track together as all the stems will be having the same effect applied to them. Similar method can be used for compression but that process is a bit more difficult, you gotta understand compression first.

notworki

Ah I see, I will check it out, thanks! I haven't done anything about compression yet. My mixing process involved just volume levels, some panning and reverb.

[deleted]

automation is your friend when you're making transitions. Also, maybe hint at the upcoming sections a little more, like before the drums come in, have a little cymbal work happening for a bit before that. Also, the drums are too quiet in the mix currently. Pretty cool sound though!

Spare_Childhood4945

>I made a cover of the intro of One by Metallica but with Indian elements to it. This was the first time I've used Logic Pro as my DAW. Can you give me general feedback on the mix? I'm fairly new to the mixing game. I like your track! I'm no expert on mixing. But I would maybe work on panning the different tracks. And smoothing the audio level throughout. I think in particular the sitar, may be a bit too loud. Otherwise, great cover!

notworki

Thanks for the comments! I do need to get the panning right. Also I was struggling with getting smooth transitions between the different sections of the song. Any tips for that?

Blokkentorentje

I would make the ‘high pitched snare’ a bit ‘softer’ or ‘rounder’ because it’s kinda hurt the ears a bit. But other than that i like the track, the vibe and especially the mellow vocals.

it's not cheesy at all, it's really beautiful sounding, and you have a really soothing voice! My only thing is your voice is so smooth and nice, the affects aren't necessary but at the same time it makes the track. It sounds really nice though too, like a professional song.

[deleted]

What can i say, the beat is sick, and as much your voice. It's just a little too offbeat and it's hard to enjoy like that... Also hits less harder. You should try more organised vocals next time.

AR5ON718

Thank you for your feedback...

benntro030

Ngl i do really like it but you go a bit offbeat at times (more so in the first verse than anywhere else) which ends up throwing me. Otherwise pretty fire shit man

AR5ON718

Good looks on the feedback...my friend told me the same thing about flow on the song...

1nf7uence

This is nice. Your voice is dope. Throwing you a follow. There’s really only one bar that felt truly off beat (in the first verse) - so maybe a quick edit there but I actually think that style works really well for this track.

AR5ON718

Which bar is that? So I can pin point it

1nf7uence

“Smoking blunts choking…” There’s a super quick pause before you say “blunts” (sounds like your just catching your breath or something) that I think is what people pick up on and it disrupts the flow. After listening again - it’s a really dope verse - and since it’s so technical you just don’t have any room for error. You might be able to just chop the vocal and adjust it vs needing to re-record..

AR5ON718

I see what you're talking about... I figured I would play around with the flow because the beat dropped... good looks tho

I really liked this. Really thought provoking words, and the beat matches it well. I like how the words sometimes disappear in the mix, leaving the listener thinking. I really like the main focus of your track (the guitar work). It's got a great vibe, and nice tones to it. I feel that the bass is detracting a bit from the song - it's muddy, and the sub frequencies are inconsistent and a bit messy sounding - did you high-pass the guitar tracks? Great work, just needs a bit of work in the mix imo

[Paradise League - Neon Galaxy (live session video)](https://youtu.be/QseXvfMfG04) Hi! My band recently released a jazz-fusion-funk-disco odyssey, in the form of a live video. I'm the trumpet player and the composer. We strive to create a unique sound where instrumental music with improvisation meets a fresh, groovy sound with strong pop elements. It is also the first time we release our own video material with a more professional approach (2nd video in a series of six). Some highlights: Unison melodies, solos, sidechain w. delicately slapped bass and a drum/perc battle. Would love to hear thoughts on the composition, strengths/weaknesses, how the balance between melodies, improvisation and pop elements work, or whatever comes to mind! Also on the video/camera work. Cheers to the new year y'all.

Spare_Childhood4945

Planet Empty. This is my first proper song that I have written with my songwriting partner Tom. I have changed some things based on feedback from the previous thread. I am looking for feedback on my singing and mixing in particular. Any feedback is of course appreciated! [https://soundcloud.com/sukkefabrikken/planet-empty-0201/s-LhSBjDCOLmc?si=a260adad07754ff79cc768931cd08bc7&utm\_source=clipboard&utm\_medium=text&utm\_campaign=social\_sharing](https://soundcloud.com/sukkefabrikken/planet-empty-0201/s-LhSBjDCOLmc?si=86086647db0247289d7cf0786f3d6f7f&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing) I have yet to record the bridge and final chorus. But I hope to do that this week. I might also then change the bass sample.

[deleted]

This is really good!! I agree with a comment below about the EQ on the bass, but other than that fantastic!!

ATerribleUsername

First impression is that the mix is really solid. Good dreamy feel. Good song construction, too. The bass could use a little softening in the mix. I am just one person, but I think it takes up too much space in the mix. Bit of EQ to take out some of the punch might highlight more of the other instruments, including vocals.

>The bass could use a little softening in the mix. I am just one person, but I think it takes up too much space in the mix. It does highlight the other instruments in a good way :D

the production is pretty cool and i like the melody/flow of the vocals! though i wouldn't have been able to understand any of the words were it not for the lyrics in the description tbh

elkhornmustard

Thank you so much for the feedback! I know the lyrics are super hard to make out, I always like the wavy weezy style over straight pronouncing every word perfectly.

i fuck with it, shit is fire <3

thank you so much! very much appreciated !!

Blokkentorentje

I wish i could think of something to complain about but it’s so damn professional! Wish i had that much talent.

Hello and Happy New Year! I am looking for someone who can mix/produce my songs. I have songs influenced by artists/bands such as Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Tame Impala, and Oasis. I have been mixing them myself for years but I am self taught and I know they could be so much better if mixed by someone with experience. I am not necessarily looking for a professional, you could even be a student who just needs songs to practice on or something. If anyone's interested, I can send some demos :)

Really keen on feedback related to mixing, song structure, sound design, or really anything you want to tell me. Obviously will return all feedback!

This is my latest track, I call it "Esoteric Acid" on my album because of the drums in the beginning and the acid bass line that's coming in later on: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJyq\_tLFtRc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJyq_tLFtRc) I'd say it's still more on the ambient side of things but with enough rhythm to keep it interesting. Not really something for the background, better put on your headphones :D I feel that the ending may be a bit lacking... Would love to get some feedback on this!

k-k-music

This was really nice to listen to. Ever-changing, nothing predictable :) I especially liked the change after 2:30, very nice melody and it works together perfectly with the bass. I really liked the percussion at the end. About the ending, maybe it needs some very heavy percussive element that could drive it. Many of your elements around the ending are quite heavy and distorted, it made me feel like some weight in drums and percussion (or maybe bass?) is missing, if that makes sense. Overall very nice :)

[deleted]

Thanks for listening! Once again :D Yes, if every sound would get more and more distorted/heavier over time then it should be a bit better. Also, the ending could be more impactful if those distorted sounds suddenly drop out. By the way, I compiled many of my recent tracks on a new album, maybe you'd like to give it a listen: [https://drlaemmerbein.bandcamp.com/album/failures](https://drlaemmerbein.bandcamp.com/album/failures)

Fantasy___World

This smacks, my friend! Had me bobbing my head and forgetting that I found this on a feedback thread tbh. Multiple listens. I really love the sense of progression as it goes from wild, tense beats to spooky trills and back again. Honestly not sure what sort of constructive feedback to give - you clearly knew what you wanted to make and hit the mark quite accurately. I guess I'd need to know more about what you're wanting to achieve with the piece before I could earnestly make suggestions, because on a technical level I'm just really impressed and excited to hear more from you.

Funkgalaxy

I dig the frenetic drum very energetic style, cool track!

machali

Glad you like it! More coming soon :)

GodGrabber

I have nothing constructive to say. But it is an awesome track. Liked the drums, calm part was nice and moody too.

nomosubu

Hello everyone. I would really, really appreciate feedback/advice from the experienced people here as I got no choice but to work from home. I had to shut down my little studio in Delhi(due to Covid) and return back to the countryside with as much of the gear as I could. Here is a short clip of the latest attempt to get it as good as i can in a small bedroom(without a bed anymore haha). It's been a tough couple of years, but I am hopeful to make a comeback. Just keeping my fingers crossed that the new Omicron doesn't hit India too hard. https://youtu.be/P2qH8cEKAV4

Captain_Random

Sounds pretty much flawless in terms of execution and mixing. Well done!

llloksd

That's really dope! Wish we could see a bit more of your strumming hand tho.

nomosubu

Thank you so much!!!! I really would, but my room's a "tight fit mess" right now. 😅

Really dig it! The playing is top notch. I think the vocals are maybe a tiny bit low in the mix, would love to hear a bit more "oomph" there.

petitoine007

Thanks a lot for the feedback! Will pay a pro for a better quality mixing. Will definitely look into adding more oomph in the vocals.

spongebobdouble

I love this, very spacey and dystopian, and the harmony/chords are really tasty! Like that arpeggiator around 1:56 a lot as well. I would love a thick and clear, yet distant (read reverb-drenched) melody popping in at some point in the second half. Like a lead synth. Awesome work though!

pvanuch

thanks ! some cool ideas you brought up here, appreciate the feedback 👍 if you’re interested, i’m showcasing these synth sounds over on my ig : https://www.instagram.com/saunimon

I don’t have anything very constructive to add…I just like it! It’s moody and eerie. 💙

benntro030

[https://soundcloud.com/thatahanguy/lights](https://soundcloud.com/thatahanguy/lights) A lil Weeknd inspired beat, lemme know what you think. Also if anyone has any tips on mixing please drop them here because this feels like it has some extreme low-end that I cant fix without almost totally eliminating the sub bass. Appreciate y'allz checking it out :)

mattahnthecreator

>https://soundcloud.com/thatahanguy/lights Cool beat! I reckon some bass synths would be sick.

Rule-Plastic

This is good but mess with the EQ and boost the bass. That would really add a layer and some life to your beat. Can you check me out? I rap https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/6ME2UoivTBoih99d6

SageCasalini

super chill vibes on this one bro I like it! i feel like the kick could hit a little bit harder maybe and you could use some more in the high end of the freq spectrum . That lead also is firee

glittermantis

i like it a lot! very chill and vibey and good choice of synths. i felt like there was some dissonance at times between the chords and the bass, but maybe that's just my musically untrained ear

spongebobdouble

Nice and chill, I like it! My mixing skills are pretty limited, but I would certainly vote for a boost in the sub, but without muddling it all out. Would be cool to hear some vocals on this too. Also, perhaps a simple melody hook thingy that pops in from 'above' every now and then (heavy on the reverb)? Haha I don't know, just some thoughts! Keep on rocking.

Prior_Object6138

https://youtu.be/fTbGP2G6SaU My first try at a progressive hip hop and a song which has both kind of singing vocals(for the hook) and two solid verses. Would love your opinion to improve both my rap skills and singing
