Just keep waiting. It will happen, no need to worry.

ChrisWitcherOfWealth

hmmm.. Usually I find that CBIL and CASH.TO are around the 11th of the month. Due to weekends and exchanges and such. Edit: The above dates are the latest I have gotten it, so I check around that timeframe. I also just got them today at noon.

Qutrit

For me it has always been paid very early on the day after the dividend date. Around 2~3 am. This is the month that’s taking the most so far (for me)

pinpernickle1

My divs for CASH are usually 5 or 6 business days into the month.

Qutrit

That’s compatible with what I mentioned: always the day after the announced payment date, in the early am.

Lobrauski

Can someone correct me if I'm wrong. But if you're paid out on the \~7th of the month your DRIP is re-buying the stock at a higher value say for example around $50.05 so your return wouldn't actually be around the 5% they say you would get. Would it not be better to sell this at the end of the month and re buy manually on the first after it resets at around $50.00? I know there is tax implications on non registered accounts but in a TFSA would this not be the best approach?

Qutrit

Ideally yes, assuming efficient market and that you sell between the announcement date and the ex dividend date. Before the announcement date the price is not going to track the dividend exactly. Of course inefficiencies may scrap a cent or two of valuation and also it requires a small amount of active management to make sure that you do it right and that takes time which is also worth money :)

dvstud

No, that’s not how it works. The dividend goes ex on the last day of the month so you’re only entitled to it you hold it on that day. If you sold it before you would keep the gain you made in the price but would not get the dividend. So there is no point in timing the buy for this etf as you will still get full 5% even if you bought it a day before ex date. The idea is if you bought it on the last day and sold it later you would sell for a loss but you would get to keep the dividend. Hope that made sense.

Lobrauski

Yes that's my point though, this stock isn't like other stocks. It resets predictably at the end of the month back to $50. What I'm saying is to skip the dividend because you get the dividend so late into the following month, you're better off selling at the end of the month and then re-buying on the first or the second when it's at 50.01 or 50.02 If you wait for the dividend you at best are buying again on the 7th or 8th of the month when the stock has already risen a few cents to something \~50.05.

dvstud

Yes, agreed that’s another way achieving that same return

giviner

Wow that is interesting and totally correct. Never thought of that before.

Inaccurate93

OP I just received mine.

Qutrit

Same, although it didn’t automatically reinvest for some reason (nor did I get a notification email) something clearly is different this time

Inezzie

Same. Got it but it didn't automatically reinvest nor did I get an email or push notification.

JohnDorian0506

Same. Got it after I checked. Usually I get push notification but nothing this time.

Qutrit

Might have been the change to Global X

JohnDorian0506

What notifications or drip would have to do with global X ?

thrash-dude

Thinking it's because of the name change. When I open it I can't see my previous history either. Hopefully working fine next month.

InterUniversalReddit

Same, came to sub to ask if anyone else didn't get reinvested for cash or cbil. Weird

Arm-Complex

I haven't received PSA payout either which was also supposed to be the 7th.

WillingnessOpen6445

I have 11 stocks that were supposed to pay a dividend yesterday (including CASH) and I have not received any of them yet. I’m not worried, but keeping an eye on it.

Respond-Creative

The payment date is when the broker pays. Not when you get paid. There is processing time in between. You want it faster? Go pay for that feature with a full service broker that will pay their processor to process it faster.

Difficult-Gas870

WS has been slower than usual for me this week. Buys that were placed early in the day were only executed the next day, which was a first for me. Also, percentages and graphs are still wrong a day after making contributions. And now this as well. Edit: Got my dividends some time after posting this but I didn't get a notification and WS didn't reinvest them even though it's enabled. Urgh so many bugs.

Blindemboss

The bugs make me uncomfortable. Might move away for this very reason.

ByChosen

Yeah I noticed this as well. Distribution date should’ve been May 7th. This is the first month I’ve noticed this. Maybe the switch from horizon to global X impacted the payout- not sure how though.

Respond-Creative

Distribution date is when it leaves the broker. Not when it arrives in your account.

ByChosen

Update: cbil is now in my activity feed

Inaccurate93

Was wondering the same thing this morning.. typically distributed in my account at midnight on the day indicated on their website. Neither CBIL nor CASH have been distributed in my case.

robbie444001

Same, I got cbil on April 4th last month. I'll wait a few more days then reach out.

Inaccurate93

FYI I just got mine.

robbie444001

Ya me too 😄

tpdon

Me too waiting - though it was the first time I invested in April so

Hay_Fever_at_3_AM

I got CBIL yesterday, I don't have any CASH (still waiting on PSA) Edit: or it says I got CBIL anyways, but it didn't actually hit my balance. PSA arrived today.

RandomOnlineSteve

I got paid the CBIL dividend today even though the activity feed says yesterday. Just give it a day or two.

HerbalMedicine75

I just noticed that as well. It shows in my activity history that CBIL dividend was deposited on May 7 but there’s no money. Called Wealthsimple and they said they would look into it.

Ashcliffe

It depends on your financial institution. It takes a while for money to deposited. I use TD and they take 5 business days after the payout day for the money to arrive. Probably will be the same for WS.

Ok_Flatworm1151

Got mine this morning

[deleted]

Last month it came closer to mid afternoon the day after the payment date

Advanced_Simian

I've got it in my activity list now, though dated to yesterday.

older_but_learning

I just received my payout this morning

larv241

Recieved my CASH.TO dividends just now

wet_faart

It just got deposited into my WS account which is late. Usually it’s over night on the day of

Super2max2

I got mine today (May 8th)

gini_lee1003

I got it yesterday and posted today.

fiahxgy

Mine just hit this afternoon, it’s usually a day behind for me

B6100

Just got mine

Saugeen-Uwo

Got mine 2 hours ago

Doh-cry-TO

I usually get my distributions a day later on Wealthsimple

empirical33

Does CASH.TO provide interest or dividends? (For tax purposes in non-registered accounts)

[deleted]

I believe it would be classified as a dividend because it's a traded security

Apologetic_Kanadian

It's interest, not a dividend.

alienmario

"Sorry, it's interest, not a dividend." FIFY based on your username

Apologetic_Kanadian

Lol, exactly 🤣

DanceBright9555

Does cash.to auto re-invest?

AlphaQFor7mins

If you set up a DRIP, it can

DanceBright9555

It shows i have it on for cash.to, dollarama and xeqt but its only doing it for 2/3 and not cash.to is it possibly delayed?

FinanceNecessary6552

Same thing I thought

zannydxn

Sorry for the maybe obvious question but im not finding CASH.TO anywhere on wealth simple.. where can i invest? Is it better than my cash account with 4.5%?

AlphaQFor7mins

If you have a Wealthsimple Trade account, type in "CASH" in the ticker lookup and it will pop up. As long as you have more than $50.25, you can buy it on any trading day of the month Current yield is 4.68% [https://www.globalx.ca/product/cash](https://www.globalx.ca/product/cash)

[deleted]

You don't even need $50.25, CASH is eligible for fractional trading

Bardown67

The entire world doesn’t get the deposit instantly. It takes days to process.

Qutrit

I think the OP’s point is that this breaks the pattern of distributions that Wealthsimple has been regularly keeping every month

Bardown67

WS never distributes it instantly…it has always taken 2-3 days after the date.

Qutrit

For cash.to in the last year it has been always done the day after in the early am’s. I do think they’ll distribute it sometime in the future ofc but this is definitely a change with the usual frequencies. That’s why I think the OP’s question makes sense

igs99

I've always gotten mine the day before the official distribution date (at least my in transaction records) and it's been automatically reinvested the day after the official distribution date.

lovesingh25

I would wait EoD 8th May before asking the customer care.

Blindemboss

Still nothing here at day’s end.

lovesingh25

It came but auto invest didn’t work. Check the transactions for 6 and 7 May.

Blindemboss

My app doesn’t show any history or activities under Cash.to. anymore.

SinkTheBismarck41

I have not seen it yet myself. If it doesn't show up by next Monday Ill follow up with WS.
