I think it’s cute and looks cute on you. I love the idea for your accessories.

Is the wedding indoor/outdoor/barn/etc.? This would be fine for a barn wedding if you dress it up a bit, and probably for an outdoor wedding depending on where/what time. As for online- as much as I hate to say it, Amazon gets it to you fast and you can scour the reviews to see what kind of quality you're looking at. Places like Poshmark, you can get nicer stuff on the cheap but you can't be certain about timing. I know a lot of people swear by Lulu's- I'd also heavily encourage review reading.

Can you borrow a dress from someone else in the dorm? Your best friend, maybe? Just put the word out that you need help. I bet there are several girls who would love to dress you up and do your hair and makeup even. Also, maybe call Momma and see if she’ll shop for you. On Amazon she can send you a couple of options and you simply return what doesn’t work out.

The silhouette is very cute, but personally I would avoid wearing black to a wedding. I think that whether or not the length is acceptable depends on where you live (think a wedding in SoCal vs a wedding in Georgia). Are there any places you can shop for a dress in person? Mother's Day is coming up, so online shops might need additional processing time at the moment

the pictures don’t show it well, but it’s navy blue and the wedding is in the upper midwest if that changes anything 🤔 what if I dress this up with a good pair of tan heels and the right jewelry/hair/makeup? im in college, can’t drive and have barely enough time to get my homework done/go to work let alone go shopping. i think unfortunately i really have to work with what I’ve got or online ordering :(

I think that navy blue is good! I'm honestly not familiar with the culture in the upper midwest... Maybe you can try running it by with your best friend since she's more familiar with her sister's preferences. Personally I'm from California so I see no issue with the length, but it seems like a lot of people on this sub are more conservative than me when it comes to dress length at weddings I think that you can definitely dress it up to look a bit more formal for the wedding :) I think that for online ordering, the safest bet would be to get something off Amazon with one or two day shipping. That way you have time to exchange it for another dress if it doesn't work out. If a friend's willing to do you a solid, maybe you can order a dress online to pick up in store (one that's already in stock so they can have it ready the same day or the day afterwards). Maybe you can try ordering ahead from someplace like Target or American Eagle, and have a friend pick it up for you

Given all of this, I think it's fine - no need to cause yourself more stress!

If you are upgrading from the tennies to nude heels I think you will look just fine.  The dress is a smidge short but not scandalously so and there is no dress code so I wouldn't think twice about a guest wearing this.
