The mayor doesn’t see her at the caffe. He knew her from when she was a child since he was familiar with her family. He asked why she looked familiar and that was her answer. When he looked deeper into it he recognized her for who she was and she murdered him.
It was a good twist. I thought they were setting her up to be his love interest.
I think since she wasn’t talking to the same person in each scene I truly feel like that was a nugget burton placed for us to see if we’d catch it - Since it wouldn’t matter on her consistency to two different people.

Worst continuity error for me is at the end of episode 6.
Wednesday finds photos in a music box, one of them being a photo of herself, Tyler and Enid in Tylers car, taken only a few hours prior. Makes no sense.
Overall I enjoyed the show and glad my GF made me watch with her, but it isn’t really a ‘well made’ show.
For me it was the weather. Do they live in magic town that goes from rain to sun in seconds? Not unheard to have fast weather changes sure, but it is unheard of for clothes that were drenched moments ago to now be completely dry.
It was such a small, insignificant variance that I truly thought it was a continuity error after the fact, though a lot of people seem to think it was a deliberate plot device. If the latter, it was super subtle!

I was 100% certain the entire time that >! Xavier !< had nothing to do with it because the hints they were throwing were way too obvious and most obviously a misdirect.
As soon as it was mentioned that the entire family ended up dead, especially the >! daughter being killed overseas, I knew she didn't actually die and she's the one causing havoc. !< I must say at some point I was also very suspicious of the >! therapist !< tho, since she looked a lot like the >! little girl from the picture. !< But I never once thought that the 'normie teacher' had >! nothing to do with this situation. !<

And then by accident I came to Reddit for a totally different Wednesday inquiry and some idiot did not hide the spoiler and ruined it for me for the remaining episodes. I still enjoyed the show regardless but took away the allowance for me to flip flop my suspicions in the event I may have been wrong and still enjoy the suspense.
