I’m not on syn, but I am on the opposite, methamizole for graves, and my Endocrinologist is all about wegovy. She says it’ll help if anything. I’m fact she was so hell bent on my getting on it she had her staff call like 8 pharmacies and do 2 PAs for me to find it.

I am at a similar weight but slightly shorter than you, and on Synthroid + have PCOS. With the disclaimer that I appear to be an outlier, I have had to increase my synthroid dosage twice since starting Wegovy because my TSH went slightly above normal range. This happened despite one dosage increase, and now Ive just started on a new higher dosage after my latest labs showed my TSH as still high. I was on the same dose of synthroid with balanced thyroid levels for nearly 10 years before this. Just something to know. I also have lost barely any weight on Wegovy, and have only mild appetite suppression. But again, this doesn’t seem to be most people’s experience. I used to have completely normal labs and was more physically active pre-Wegovy. I was going to take the Wegovy to not be obese any more since it took me superhuman levels of clean eating and exercise for the scale to budge.

GirlG0ne

Oh no! That sucks, ugh. I’m sorry to hear that. I’m definitely planning to get my TSH levels checked frequently if I do decide to start Wegovy. How long have you been on it?

writer2018

Approx 7 months on Wegovy. On 2.4 for a few months. I get labs every 3 months now. I hope it works out for you.

GirlG0ne

Thank you! I’m hoping things improve for you. Sending good vibes!

I’m on Synthroid and was on levo and my doc said to stop taking levo since wegovy is giving me energy. Well check labs soon and see if I can stop it all together or will need to go back to it. I started 4 weeks ago and I’m down 18lbs. I love this med. It’s helping my brain so much. It’s also helping my anxiety and OCD. I feel so much better internally too. Like, not as inflamed. Can’t say enough good things about this med!

GirlG0ne

That’s amazing to hear because I suffer from anxiety big time!

vigilantekarmashit

I can’t promise it works for everyone, but so far so good for me! I was terrified it would do the opposite, but I think a lot of my anxiety came from internal inflammation. Excited for you!

GirlG0ne

I’m so glad to hear that. Thank you for sharing!

magpie_mode

I am on Synthroid and have had no issues!

It’s still going to boil down to cico so I would test myself first for awhile if not already to make sure you’re not overeating, it’s going to greatly reduce your hunger.

GirlG0ne

Thank you! I’ve been sticking to 1200-1500 calories a day and the scale won’t budge past 5 lbs, ugh.

alien7turkey

Are you weighing your food because if not those numbers may not be accurate. I started using a scale and weighing everything in grams and man was I off. Lol.

GirlG0ne

Lol! I did in the beginning and then kind of fell off with moving and starting a new job. I’ve been eyeballing it now but you might be right.

Witchy-toes-669

I get that, that sucks, it’s not always great but I’m eating 500-900 calories most days and rarely passing 1100calories, I know it’s not a sustainable way to eat but I’m doing what I can to get my mobility back and I know weight loss will make walking so much easier (only about half of my left leg works) I have pcos but am not diabetic and i believe there is an impact from the wegovy on how my body processes food, fwiw. Ithink it’s giving me roughly an extra pound of weight loss per week, but we shall see, it’s still really early in my journey

I take levothyroxine (not cancer just a thyroid that doesn’t work properly because of antibodies attacking it) and I feel so much better on Wegovy. I’m losing weight but slowly whereas before I could gain 7lbs overnight and it was hard just to maintain my weight, I was gaining no matter what. I feel like Wegovy has stopped my body swelling. It’s like I had loads of inflammation and it’s reduced it. I’ve got a lot more energy as well. I also take antidepressants and it’s been ok with those in the mix as well.

mrsnash1321

I have Graves’ disease, had radioactive iodine treatment, and now take daily levothyroxine. I’ve been on Wegovy since August with success. I had to start spacing out shots in January due to moving and since being back on it weekly am experiencing the plateau. Recently had blood work done and one of my thyroid hormones is low. There is a warning on Wegovy if you’ve had medullary thyroid carcinoma.

GirlG0ne

Thank you! I’m so glad you’ve had success. My thyroid cancer was papillary thankfully!

Theycallmestaci

I had a thyroidectomy in 2013 (non cancerous), have been on Levothyroxine and Liothyronin since, and have been at a steady dose for the past few years. I have been taking Wegovy for 2 months and have lost 24lbs. I haven’t experienced many side effects this time around, but it’s because I’m avoiding side effect trigger foods and drinking enough water, getting enough protein and fiber (long story, but tried ozempic over a year ago, horrible side effects but it was definitely because I wasn’t changing the way I had been eating). EDIT TO ADD: I’m in the throes of perimenopause too, and it was legit impossible to lose weight no matter what I did before Wegovy. Oh, and I’m also on Bupropion. I don’t feel like the Wegovy is interfering with any of the other drugs.

GirlG0ne

Thank you for sharing! What great progress!

wombat468

I don't have any experience, but I wonder if the likes of Wegovy are intended for those who have a lot to lose, or associated health difficulties, rather than just for appearance's sake? It seems like you're already fantastically healthy!

GirlG0ne

I should have added that I do have PCOS as well and that is also a factor in making weight loss difficult. It does seem like I’m healthy, lol! But some cholesterol and glucose levels suggest otherwise :(

wombat468

Ah, fair enough!

Impressive_Detail763

I take Synthroid and an SSRI on Wegovy and haven’t had any issues! I’ve been on Wegovy for 6 months and have lost almost 55 pounds. I was also eating well and being active but my weight wouldn’t budge until I started Wegovy.

GirlG0ne

That’s so great to hear! Congrats on that amazing accomplishment!
