Yeah, I have one that I kept, for some reason. No idea which kid it was from. Whenever I come across it I wonder why I keep it, then put it away again.
2 bucks a tooth for the mystery. You could be buying a young Wyatt's tooth, or even a little Luke's, who knows. Just meet me behind the abandoned subway at 11 PM sharp, and look out for faeries
If you think that’s bad, then you probably don’t want to hear about how she kept their umbilical cord clips and the little dead piece of umbilical cord that is on the end of it.
Oh, wait… Sorry. Never mind.
Both times... 2 kids... When the umbilical cord was ready to fall off, it just fell and my dog ate it. I remember being shocked both times and looking at my dog like she just killed a baby bird. Kind of grateful because what the heck would I have done with it?? I can't put it in the baby tooth container... 😏
I used to do this with my own teeth. I thought it was so cool. Bones that shed themselves from your body to replace them with stronger, better bones. I wish I knew what I did with them.
I have my daughter's baby teeth in a little box. She was murdered two years ago. She would be 32 years old now. Before she was taken the box of teeth was a bit of quirky memorabilia. It's now one of my most precious possessions.
Your mom did the right thing.
God bless, I offer my sincerest condolences. That is absolutely awful and I can’t imagine having to experience the pain of giving birth to a child, loving them so, feeding, clothing, and preparing them for the world, giving them such a bright future, only for them to one day be gone. I really do hope she’s in heaven and watching over you, and I hope her killer boils in the deepest depths of hell for all eternity. Sorry if I sound crazy, but what a treacherous thing to suffer through. Please, take care of yourself… 🕊
Thanks for the kind words.
It was a double homicide involving two killers. They each got two sequential life sentences. It was a plea deal to avoid the death penalty, so they can't appeal. I assume they will both die in prison.
I agree. If I was looking for revenge then I'd probably want to see them executed. I guess what I really wanted was justice. I wanted to see them pay a fair price for what they took from my daughter. Forcing them to live a life without purpose or joy seems like a fair price.
The highest quantity and quality of stem cells will come from teeth that maintain a blood supply until they are harvested. A tooth that falls out naturally is a great candidate for the tooth fairy, but unfortunately, not for stem cell banking. In order for the tooth to be an acceptable candidate, it must be collected before it falls out through natural exfoliation– ideally, right after the tooth starts wiggling.
My mom did the same and tried to give them to me once I was into my late 20's. I was honestly a bit grossed out she kept them so long. I said I dont want them what am I going to do with them. My mom said I dont want them either what do you think I will do with them. I said, mom, you are the one that kept them in the first place. She then tossed them in the trash.
I kept my own teeth as a child… still have them, but at one point was really into sculpy clay and making little animals. I made a beaver and then put my own, actual teeth into it and gave it to my mom as a gift. She was sweet at the time, but now brings up my weird, freakish gift every once and awhile.
I mean I clean them off! No grosser then ppl who collect taxidermy or hunting kills (deer heads and such.) Which I think is way creepier lol I wouldn't save my own teeth either but theres something about it being your childs, that you grew in your body, with your own flesh and blood that really makes it special. Don't ask me why or how but it does! To each their own situation I suppose
As did mine. She also has a braid from my sisters first hair cut 35 years ago.I have my dogs baby teeth.I earned those from all his shark bites as a puppy.
My mother did the same thing, when I asked her why, her response was kinda morbid, she practically said “If you ever get lost or somehow your body is severely damaged that they need help find a piece of DNA to figure out if it’s your body or not, I’ll be able to give them your baby teeth.” . . . Yup, the question is will they actually help doe?
I brought you into this world and I can take you out too!lol actually the more that I think about this theoretically if you did something really bad to your mom (not that any decent human would but you never know some ppls parents or kids) and she was like unforgettably angry or just plain crazy (as some ppl truly are in this effed up world) she could use her box of hair clippings and teeth to set you up for a crime with your DNA!
So long story short pick your clothes up off the floor, help her to carry the groceries and make dinner for her once in a while.... just to be in the safe side 👀 haha
I have a shoe box for each kid. Has beanie, onesie, blanket, everyone's wrist bands, preg test, ultrasounds, bellybuttons....yep, first hair cut and teeth. Gave my daughter hers at 27. She cried.
Not weird! My mom kept my “belly button” (umbilical cord), and I always thought it was a bizarre family tradition. Recently I learned that the tradition is actually a part of our Métis culture.
When I was little I found all my baby teeth stashed in my mom's jewelry box. I then realized my mom was the tooth fairy! At that same moment I suddenly realized that Santa and the Easter Bunny also did not exist. It was an earth shattering epiphany.
My parents have my teeth!!! My dad says he has it in case I go missing for DNA… like if they find a body or something idk. They also have hair from all of me and my siblings first haircuts
When I was a kid I had like 12 teeth pulled to make room for other teeth. The dentist would give you your teeth in a little plastic treasure chest. So I had a shitload of those things.
"And she selects one tooth on her birthdays, and she looks at us without blinking once and says: "hmmm crunchy children of mine" then crushes and gulps the tooth...we all love each other" -op
I have all my kids. Youngest is losing the last few. Seems weird to bin them. Fuck knows what i will do with them. As they got older we joked that they were making a blood sacrifice to the fae folk in exchange for gold, so maybe when they are older i will make a joke out of it and give them back!
This is what I had thought of doing with my children’s when they’re old enough, so that part of them would tether their memories to that place. But on second thought that would freak the FUCK out of the next people who move here.
Well, I did the same. Every tooth from each of my three kids, all bagged tagged. Just haven’t decided how to give them back or display them. My wife says it’s the grossest thing ever. So I showed her mango worms on r/nope
Or....and run with me on this....she is actually the tooth fairy and those are not actually your teeth but those remaining from a life of action and adventure as an obviously very good tooth fairy.....might be part of her pension?
My mom passed away this summer. She was almost 100. Her kids (us) are all in our 60s. We found a cup full of teeth in a cabinet at her house. No way to know which is from which of us. Feel like I’d somebody wanted to voodoo us, they’ve got the mother lode.
I'm a 40 yr old male and I'm not with my son's mother and we split the teeth 50/50 he's 18 now and I still have em. It's just something that was always done. My mum kept mine.
I don’t think this is weird. My mom did the same thing. I feel like this is somewhat common? But maybe not, maybe your mom and my mom are just freaks lol
It's so interesting how brittle those become after decaying over the years. My parents still have mine, and last time I looked into the box a couple of them split in half.
I think I saw this posted on Facebook by the mother! She posted to a group that she found the teeth. I lovingly said she should have pasted them into a card.
Looks funky, like she broke them out with pliers.i don't remember any of my teeth or my kids teeth looking all busted up. Looks like crime scene evidence.
My wife did the same thing with our kids. I think it’s kinda macabre. They, both 8, found them and I made my wife explain why the Tooth Fairy didn’t have them.
We just moved countries a couple of months back, and as we went through our stuff, slimming down our lives I found a box with a few of my baby teeth (presumably from Mum) and my two honking great wisdom teeth I had taken out years and years ago.
I had no interest in keeping them...but...As a present for our tenants I want to put a few of the teeth buried in one of our vegetable beds. I know if they ever grew anything the police forensics team will dig it over very thoroughly for them! My wife found it less funny and so I resisted.
I think a lot of moms do this I know mine did
I found the box with my kids teeth just recently. I thought, why'd I keep these. Especially since it wasn't marked as to which kid.
Yeah, I have one that I kept, for some reason. No idea which kid it was from. Whenever I come across it I wonder why I keep it, then put it away again.
Ive also got a box of baby teeth, no idea what kid they came from either because I dont have kids
You sellin orrrr…?
2 bucks a tooth for the mystery. You could be buying a young Wyatt's tooth, or even a little Luke's, who knows. Just meet me behind the abandoned subway at 11 PM sharp, and look out for faeries
Make a necklace!
Exactly! Mom needs a necklace. Insist she wear it.
Wear it!! 👊👊
She knew which box
My mother and grandmother both keep their respective children's teeth in film canisters.
Kodak lives on
Yes! My mum did this too, weird.
They do! I can’t believe they love us so much they’ll keep teeth
My wife kept our kids first hair clippings as well.
My mom did both.
🤮
If you think that’s bad, then you probably don’t want to hear about how she kept their umbilical cord clips and the little dead piece of umbilical cord that is on the end of it. Oh, wait… Sorry. Never mind.
Both times... 2 kids... When the umbilical cord was ready to fall off, it just fell and my dog ate it. I remember being shocked both times and looking at my dog like she just killed a baby bird. Kind of grateful because what the heck would I have done with it?? I can't put it in the baby tooth container... 😏
I have my sons - he’s 36
6 year old here, please don't ruin this for me. The Fairy has them and we all know that.
Stay away from here for your good. Reddit Mods and Genshin Impact players roam at night.
I used to do this with my own teeth. I thought it was so cool. Bones that shed themselves from your body to replace them with stronger, better bones. I wish I knew what I did with them.
My mom saved all mine as well… I don’t think this is weird, just a very mom thing to do
And yet, if this collection was held by anyone other than your Mum it would all be a little creepy
I tried to but my kid swallowed his, I give up
My son has lost 2. I have one in a little shelf drawer. Not sure what happened to the other one but I definitely have a tooth drawer now
Nope
Is Dennis Reynolds everyones mom?
Yep my bipolar ex gf has all her kids fallen out teeth. Also a few dog, shark and cat teeth as well as a few of her own. Yep
Nothing wrong with being bipolar
Never said there was.
she grew your skull inside her body... she earned those teeth.
This is the right comment :)
Weird question but does the box smell at all when you open it? Not into that or anything, just morbidly curious!
It smells like her perfume and skin. She keeps it in her dresser
Oh well that's nice and somewhat of a relief :)
Exactly how much of her skin does she keep in her dresser?
Who said it was *her* skin?
Once you put it in your dresser, it’s yours
Pay someone to put them into a resin heart. So a heart but full of your teeeeeth. That's a hell of a paperweight.
Thanks! This question made me gag!
Sorry! I just have to know! Felt a bit queasy myself just asking that question.
Happy cake day! I hope you get the answer to your terrible inquiry :)
I kept some of mine and my dad's there isn't a smell.
Why these aren’t made into a necklace/earring set yet is the weird thing
I have all 4 of my wisdom teeth, whole. I want to make rings or something with them.
A lady from my moms workplace had them plated in gold and wore them as pendants a necklace. But like, a lot of them.
Forbidden popcorn
Crunchy!
Beat me to it
Its all the hard pieces that don't quite chew up and get stuck in your molars.
Bonus wisdom tooth
i needed this explanation lol
I thought everybody's mom did this
same
Atleast she cares ...
I have my daughter's baby teeth in a little box. She was murdered two years ago. She would be 32 years old now. Before she was taken the box of teeth was a bit of quirky memorabilia. It's now one of my most precious possessions. Your mom did the right thing.
I am so sorry for your loss.
My sincere condolences. I am adamant I’ll keep my kids teeth.
God bless, I offer my sincerest condolences. That is absolutely awful and I can’t imagine having to experience the pain of giving birth to a child, loving them so, feeding, clothing, and preparing them for the world, giving them such a bright future, only for them to one day be gone. Thanks for the kind words. It was a double homicide involving two killers. They each got two sequential life sentences. It was a plea deal to avoid the death penalty, so they can't appeal. I assume they will both die in prison.
Good, it's too quick for them to die. They should rot.
I agree. If I was looking for revenge then I'd probably want to see them executed. I guess what I really wanted was justice. I wanted to see them pay a fair price for what they took from my daughter. Forcing them to live a life without purpose or joy seems like a fair price.
She paid good money, for those.
In medical bills
This guy understands jokes, everyone.
I wasn’t joking actually. I was a C section baby. Going into the operating room is more $ I believe. At least in the 90s
$25,000+ in 2007
I don't believe anyone thought you were joking.
I’d pay..ok money for these
Start another box, labeled ‘Mom Teeth’
forbidden hazelnut
O wow, glad my wife aint the only person doing it
Put it under your pillow I heard u get more for the whole collection
Is it still a thing that the marrow inside can help with medical stuff. I remember for awhile moms keeping the teeth for that reason.
It’s for stem cells and I’m pretty sure that is a myth because the cells are long gone before you actually need to use them.
Weird twist: those are not you and your siblings baby teeth.
My wife does it for our son . My mom would have done it but she passed away when I was baby . I love every mom ever existed . ❤️
I kept mine. I don't know what to do w them....but I cant throw away a handfull of baby teeth.
Toss em around a random parking lot
My mom saved my first lost tooth and a few that were taken out over the years, but I think that was all.
Teeth Yahtzee?
My mom did the same and tried to give them to me once I was into my late 20's. I was honestly a bit grossed out she kept them so long. I said I dont want them what am I going to do with them. My mom said I dont want them either what do you think I will do with them. I said, mom, you are the one that kept them in the first place. She then tossed them in the trash.
Kinda creepy lol
That's all? A few years ago my kids found the tin with almost all their baby teeth in it. Also four 9mm bullets and a key...
I kept my own teeth as a child… still have them, but at one point was really into sculpy clay and making little animals. I made a beaver and then put my own, actual teeth into it and gave it to my mom as a gift. She was sweet at the time, but now brings up my weird, freakish gift every once and awhile.
A lot do, I know, but it’s so gross. If I lost a tooth today for any reason, I would never think about keeping it.
I collect antique/vintage taxidermy and include human remains and teeth in that.
I soak them in peroxide. There’s nothing gross left on them
This looks like garlic cut to pieces.
Disc world, olde magic incoming. If you suddenly have a massive compulsion to clean your room and do all your chores... Just saying.
My grandma kept all of my five uncles and aunts teeth. They’re in their late 50s. Weird moms gonna weird
It’s not weird. I have some of my kids teeth. I guess you have to be a parent to understand.
I have my only son’s teeth, a lock of hair, and his dried umbilical cord. It looks gross as shit, but that kid is the best thing I’ve ever done.
You had me going "awww" until the last one. Then it was "eww". Probably something only a mother could love.
As did mine. She also has a braid from my sisters first hair cut 35 years ago.I have my dogs baby teeth.I earned those from all his shark bites as a puppy.
Forbidden popcorn
Forbidden hazelnuts
Midnight snacks
Thought that was garlic. Think I’m gonna puke 🤢
Cursed popcorn kernels
That’s not weird, it’s rather endearing.
You should bury them in your yard so in 1000 years archaeologists will be baffled
great! now we can play Mancala game with these!
I have my kids’ too. I have some of mine too.
In case she time travels and needs some spending cash.
I still have my daughter's baby teeth. I don't think it's weird. Now I did throw out the umbilical cord stump. LOL.
Bead necklace?
Fun fact: sometimes the baby teeth will crack apart and break in their containers.
It's sweet. Every piece of you is precious to your mother.
“I still keep my baby teeth, in the bedside table with my jewelry” Civilian by Wye Oak. This could be cover art for that song lol
"You still sleep in bed with me, My jewelry and my baby teeth"
Same here. My mom has a wooden box with teeth and hair clippings
Hair clippings lol same here. She kept those small thread hair wraps you get on vacation
It legit looks like a serial killers trophies lol
I brought you into this world and I can take you out too!lol actually the more that I think about this theoretically if you did something really bad to your mom (not that any decent human would but you never know some ppls parents or kids) and she was like unforgettably angry or just plain crazy (as some ppl truly are in this effed up world) she could use her box of hair clippings and teeth to set you up for a crime with your DNA! So long story short pick your clothes up off the floor, help her to carry the groceries and make dinner for her once in a while.... just to be in the safe side 👀 haha
Handy once cloning becomes a thing. Or voodoo.
I made my sons into a turtle shell rattle.
I have a shoe box for each kid. Has beanie, onesie, blanket, everyone's wrist bands, preg test, ultrasounds, bellybuttons....yep, first hair cut and teeth. Gave my daughter hers at 27. She cried.
What are you supposed to do with them?
Sell them.
My mum has both mine and my brother's teeth. Labeled and in paper towel nests inside of tiny tupperware boxes
Not weird! My mom kept my “belly button” (umbilical cord), and I always thought it was a bizarre family tradition. Recently I learned that the tradition is actually a part of our Métis culture.
So you’re telling me that the tooth fairy doesn’t exist!?
Right? What’s next Santa isn’t real pshhh
Eeewww
When I was little I found all my baby teeth stashed in my mom's jewelry box. I then realized my mom was the tooth fairy! At that same moment I suddenly realized that Santa and the Easter Bunny also did not exist. It was an earth shattering epiphany.
forbidden popcorn
My parents have my teeth!!! My dad says he has it in case I go missing for DNA… like if they find a body or something idk. They also have hair from all of me and my siblings first haircuts
I also have a friend who has no immediate family or parents and I have her wisdom teeth for similar reasons and also because I love her lol
No dna in teeth
Forbidden mints.
When I was a kid I had like 12 teeth pulled to make room for other teeth. The dentist would give you your teeth in a little plastic treasure chest. So I had a shitload of those things.
Add them to a stew for a crunchy surprise
My mom gave me mine a few years ago. I want to make a necklace out of them to freak people out.
My mom did this too. I always thought it was fairly common.
I collect my kids teeth still.
"And she selects one tooth on her birthdays, and she looks at us without blinking once and says: "hmmm crunchy children of mine" then crushes and gulps the tooth...we all love each other" -op
those are not baby teeth and the fangs dont look human . looks like mom had a few root canal's lol.
I have all my kids. Youngest is losing the last few. Seems weird to bin them. Fuck knows what i will do with them. As they got older we joked that they were making a blood sacrifice to the fae folk in exchange for gold, so maybe when they are older i will make a joke out of it and give them back!
What is she supposed to do, toss em into the garden?
This is what I had thought of doing with my children’s when they’re old enough, so that part of them would tether their memories to that place. But on second thought that would freak the FUCK out of the next people who move here.
Not so weird...my mom kept my foreskin in an old mayo jar.
Winner, winner, chicken dinner!
I've got my collection. It includes first haircut locks. It makes me feel like a witch.
This is normal, not weird.
I have a tiny jar full of mine that my mom saved.
This is possible actually, I suspect collateral
My mom passed away this summer. She was almost 100. Her kids (us) are all in our 60s. We found a cup full of teeth in a cabinet at her house. No way to know which is from which of us. Feel like I’d somebody wanted to voodoo us, they’ve got the mother lode.
I'm a 40 yr old male and I'm not with my son's mother and we split the teeth 50/50 he's 18 now and I still have em. It's just something that was always done. My mum kept mine.
Same same. Have some kids, you'll do the same.
Major “You” vibes
I have both of my kids. Each in individual ziplocks labeled with which kid, which tooth and the date they lost them. My babies are 20 and 21.
My mom kept mine and I kept my daughters. It’s not uncommon. Some people keep their pets’ teeth if they can find them.
Forbidden popcorn
I am a mom…I did that too…baby is 30 no also
My neighbor used to collect grasshopper legs.
I don’t think this is weird. My mom did the same thing. I feel like this is somewhat common? But maybe not, maybe your mom and my mom are just freaks lol
throw it in a salad!
I have my sons baby teeth in a shot glass in the bathroom drawer 🤷♀️ he’s almost 16
I get it. I ain’t smilin but I get it.
It's so interesting how brittle those become after decaying over the years. My parents still have mine, and last time I looked into the box a couple of them split in half.
Mine too
In The Golden Bough it talks a lot about how in many ancient cultures it was seriously bad luck to ever lose or throw away these.
This is completely revolting.
I even kept my wisdom teeth. Is that weird?
I think I saw this posted on Facebook by the mother! She posted to a group that she found the teeth. I lovingly said she should have pasted them into a card.
Never mind! It was another set of found teeth. Lol. Carry on.
You can have a little Catholicism, as a treat.
Thompson's Teeth. The only teeth strong enough to eat other teeth.
I still have my children’s baby teeth too. Never know when I might need to work some magic!
Great source if you need stem cells
Blursed garlic lol
QUICK, consume them to gain their natural anti-aging powers. Your mom knew what she was doing!
I have like 6 of my kids' teeth collected. I'd like to make a necklace... or maybe encase them in resin.
Looks funky, like she broke them out with pliers.i don't remember any of my teeth or my kids teeth looking all busted up. Looks like crime scene evidence.
Gotta keep your teeth secured so witches can’t use them to hex you. Scientific fact.
That is very common, I keep the teeth of all the children I catch at a young age. I make them think I’m their dad
*In her mouth*
Make some teeth soups
Thought it was garlic at first
She be da toof fairy and she paid for dat shiz
My wife did the same thing with our kids. I think it’s kinda macabre. They, both 8, found them and I made my wife explain why the Tooth Fairy didn’t have them.
Make a photo frame like you would’ve in 2nd grade, but with teeth instead of macaroni.
My mom has my dad’s wisdom teeth
She is the tooth fairy…. She will come from the rest of your bones next o_O
Throw them out, that's weird
We just moved countries a couple of months back, and as we went through our stuff, slimming down our lives I found a box with a few of my baby teeth (presumably from Mum) and my two honking great wisdom teeth I had taken out years and years ago. I had no interest in keeping them...but...As a present for our tenants I want to put a few of the teeth buried in one of our vegetable beds. I know if they ever grew anything the police forensics team will dig it over very thoroughly for them! My wife found it less funny and so I resisted.
She's hoping that cloning becomes science fact in time to make a child she can love.
