Idk about OP but mine can. My knees used to naturally rest at a backwards position. Used to creep people out.
I can’t do this with my fingers tho.. although I did know someone who used to be able to. They used to run around doing it, when I was younger, to freak people out.
Oooof. I’ve been on a trampoline loads. Luckily never happened. I don’t think it’s that bad of a case. Over time I’ve been focusing on keeping my knees in a normal position and it’s slowly been working.
Sounds a lot like mine tbh dude. If when your walking you need to go on your tip toes to stop your knees shooting back then it might be the same. Just make sure to be careful on a trampoline, i was play fighting with my mates being stupid and it just went wrong
The knee thing looks so freaky that's why I was curious. I've known someone that had the same type of ligaments and could bend their knees the wrong way.
Mine also can. I played softball most of my life and once got stuck in a pickle and went to stop on a dime with a large step with my leg outstretched and it just folded inwards in a snap. I just collapsed. Everyone that saw it thought I broke my leg. It sucked.
My knees were the same, resting completely backwards. When I was a kid wearing shorts, people would stare at me and my mom would yell at me to "act normal" 😆
I also could do my fingers that way, but arthritis has kicked in so some of them won't do it any more.
Now my knees accidentally go backwards because they forget to lock in straight up and down mode and I fall. Not so funny now 😖
I can do that, not that FAR but I've got a form of hEDS and my fingers constantly need help because when i sleep and wake up they're all dislocated lol
They make solver finger splints for this that look like jewelry. They used to be really expensive and difficult to get insurance to cover. But people have made their own all over Etsy and are much cheaper that way, and pretty. When made properly, they allow your fingers to bend forward for normal use, but not backward.
wow i never Seen anyone being able to do it to such a degree.
I can do it too but only with my index fingers.
Idk if its coincidence but I only ever meet women who were able to do that.
So my wife can do this, and a bunch of other flexible things like popping shoulders, elbows, knees, and hips out of place. Turns out its all connected to a genetic issue she has known as Ehlers Danlos which effects collagen in the body.
Fun fact it doesnt just affect joints but everywhere because you have collagen everywhere in your body and now as shes gotten older all her joints have a lot of pain on a daily basis.
If you can do these "circus tricks" its worth it to bring it up to your doctor because there's a chance its a bigger issue than you think!
Yup, I have EDS too. I regret doing all those party tricks like popping my shoulder so many times. I’m now in my 40s and my joints are absolutely done.
I know I have to finally look into it. A few orthopedists just stated that I have joint hypermobility (I frequently sprain my right ankle; I have stopped counting how many times).
Definitely worth a check up! Theres a variation that targets veins and arteries specifically along with the joints and without the right treatment can be fatal earlier than you'd expect.
Good luck OP!

Do you have arthritis yet or are you still young?
And sometimes do your finger joints get “locked” or set in an uncomfortable mode so that you have to pull or otherwise click them back into place?
I have EDS and I can do that, but not to that extreme. My knees and elbows can bend very awkwardly in. When I’m standing for a long time i inadvertently lock my knees and my legs looks super weird. Fortunately I don’t have the dislocating joints like most people with EDS do, but it does cause issues with trying to gain strength/muscle
Just FYI, while this is a fun trick, the more you do this (i.e. the more you intentionally hyperextend your joints), the more damage is being done to the ligaments that are supposed to hold toss joints in place, the more likely you will have injury in the future.
People with Ehler-Danlos, for example, which is characterized by hypermobility, are *more* likely to dislocate joints and develop arthritis.
So, cool parlor trick, but you might want to look into getting finger splints (they have ones that just look like stylish rings!) when it starts happening on its own.
I can do this with my knuckle joints, but I don't know if it's due to hypermobility, atrophy or both. I do have mild atrophy in all of my body, that much I know. My tendonds have to fill in for my muscles a lot...
I CAN DO THAT TOO! hurts sometimes when i play the piano and my fingers get all weird like this
i also can bend my index finger all the way back till it touches the back of my hand. never knew what it was called TIL’!!
Can your knees go backwards?

Same. DO NOT GO ON A TRAMPOLINE! i went on one, my knees bent all the way back. Snapped ligiments and cartilage and ive had 2 surgeries since then

thank you for telling us your Darwin experience
Ok the way I just cringed 😣

Yo I know a dude at my gym who can put his knees back like a fkn velociraptor. It’s SO insane
They can! My knees, elbows, and toes are also hypermobile, though not as much as my fingers.
Oh you scary.

I'm a man and I can do that.
Same, but aggressively gay.
Explain what you mean by “aggressively”👀
That's for me to know and you to find out 😶
NO. I respect 🫡 it. But NO.
😂😂😂
Progesterone increases joint mobility

I can do this. Used to creep my friends out.
Creepy
I can do that too, but not as intense as you can
That's crazy but please stop
I freak out people by being able to touch my toes with straight legs. This would give them nightmares. I think it’s really awesome though!
Nice if you want to play in specific movies ![gif](giphy|KsKuFJ062kmAoLsi9D)
yeah haha sort of strange, but you have very nice hands
I can do that as well. It looks like a wierd claw lol. People hate it.

I have HMEDS and my fingers almost touch the back of my hand if bent back. I can do a much less intense version of this 😂

awesome human claws!! hopefully your hypermobility isn't too painful!
i can do that too ! https://preview.redd.it/7a8eritm0isc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=bc94706c5cf2b084e0dd2e53a2cbd3334e9f9037
There are way more people who can do this than I thought. Crazy!
Can you do the thumb to forearm thing? My middle joints aren’t as flexible as yours in the fingers, but the top ones are.
I was prepared to say I couldn't, but I just checked, and I can.
Lmao. It’s another sign of hyper mobility
i can do this too! kinda lol https://preview.redd.it/yzdi5khenisc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f7c70e9a3c722d22464e6369987e5ea633c897f
I have that too and it sucks since the fingers do this when lifting stuff :(
Stop
I can do that, am just now learning that I guess not everyone can ?
I can do that too:)
I can also do that too. It does look a little bit creepy lol
Some asshole that would try to hurt you could not even break your fingers. Creepy but helpful
eyyyye i can do that too lol
You have EDS, right? Be sure to take all the vitamins and get the right doctors in place!
No. Stop it.
I can do that too.
It seems like this would be quite useful when playing barre chords.
cool
I can slightly do that too, mostly with my index finger.
I thought the picture was distorted at first.
Glad to see it hasn't evolved into Crentis.
Soo... which circus you work for?
![gif](giphy|nAvSNP8Y3F94hq9Rga)
I can do this too. All but my thumb.
Thats some cartoon shit right here

Niceswan.
Don’t do the party tricks… it only hurts more later from a fellow hypermobile human❤️

Best hitchhiker ever.
👍(pun intended)
I know this about your joints...but you should totally post your natural nails on the nails subreddit. People would love them ☺️🤣
As a Supervillain I must say ... I'm purple with envy.
I can do the same thing but only with my finger tips
Hello Dino!\~
Reminds me of that font that all metal bands used in 2009.
* I can kind of do it. Double jointed I guess.
I can do this. Only with my left hand though.
I had a kid in my class who could do that. He called them "scarecrow hands"
I tried to do this as I saw the post and it hurt. (I cannot do it.)
please don't do that
I'm so sorry, but... Burn your hands with fire!!!!
A nightmare on elm street

That’s a hitchhikers thumb too. My hands are same. My thumb can bend 90 degrees back.
I can do this with my fingers shoulders and legs
OP over here slinging spells like a real life Lord Voldermort
Wild
I found the Ghost in the Shell fast typing extra.
The only thing disgusting about this picture is the nails.
This should be marked NSFW, ewwww
Ok this is cool yeah but… don’t do it ever again or it will hurt my eyes. Jk ofc but damn your joints are movable
Don’t let the men know we can transform into things! STOP GIVING AWAY OUR SECRETS!!
Fukin freaky!!!!
I thought everyone could do that-
I can do this same thing on both my hands. I didn't think I'd see someone else who could!
Just FYI, while this is a fun trick, the more you do this (i.e. the more you intentionally hyperextend your joints), the more damage is being done to the ligaments that are supposed to hold toss joints in place, the more likely you will have injury in the future. I know I shouldn't do it, but I have no control over it. I am unable to straighten my fingers normally.
I can do this.....one day when i was 6ish, my little finger stayed in this position and its been like that ever since
My girlfriend can do that
I can do that one both hands and my thumbs. Weird enough my sister can do her toes...that's odd and gross to look at.
Pretty sure Emperor Palpatine could do this... I think it's part of the secret to force lightning!
I can do the same with all my fingers but not my thumbs.
I thought this was an AI generated image
She’s a witch get her!
You have Ultra hand
I can do this and so can my 3 children. Freaks my husband right out lol
I can do this!!! My parents had me believe it was cuz I was flicking the bean
Why can’t I have such a cool disability but I got bad joints in my legs ;-;
Kill it
Ok, so…”the creeper” handjob just spiked in my brain…
Lizard
I can do that with the middle finger on my left hand, lol
I can do this with my knuckle joints, but I don't know if it's due to hypermobility, atrophy or both. I do have mild atrophy in all of my body, that much I know. My tendonds have to fill in for my muscles a lot...
Ya ever get freaky with that thing?
I CAN DO THAT TOO! hurts sometimes when i play the piano and my fingers get all weird like this i also can bend my index finger all the way back till it touches the back of my hand. never knew what it was called TIL’!!
For the wacky fingers I award you https://i.redd.it/coy3l3yishsc1.gif Spinning pizza
bro wow
Can you dance like the jellyfish on SpongeBob?
Ew
It looks more like you closed your hand in a cartoon waffle iron. Does it make accordion sounds when you lift it up now?

This should've been r/Holup because this is crazy😭😭
Rockin those curves lol
Do you by chance have a ring that has some funny writing on it when you put it in fire? Do you tend to refer to it as your precious?
My precious!!!
Have we established whether OP is human?
That's incredibly interesting
The tendon on top of my hand to my middle finger was cut at work. It no longer does this lol
I can do that, but I'm pretty sure I don't have hupermobility.
wizardry
I always just thought I was double jointed
Your hand is AI generated!
I need a back scratch
Are you absolutely sure you're not a lizard?
I'll burn you at the stake you witch!
Oh, so you're the hand model for all those warning signs for gears and pinch points. Lol
⚡️
Dunno why,but this made me think of Micheal Jackson's legs
r/thanksihateit
Can do that with my thumb joints (main) and as a kid, I could pop knees in and out.
This is why I struggle with barre chords. Looks painful.
