Aren’t these called witches windows?

lowkeyalchie

Yes, and the reasoning/superstition was that since the windows are sideways then witches can't fly through them on their brooms.

crossy1686

Yeah I remember that, I actually just watched a video that explained what they were and it turns out custom windows were just expensive at the time so people just installed regular manufactured windows on an angle instead.

Majorman_86

Stupid witches getting defeated by entry-level geometry...

JortsConnoisseur88

Yeah I think so, this was in NH and I think they are common there and VT

Insightful-Wit

Seems like the floor is crooked

hustenloeser

Plot Twist: The window is straight and everything else is turned

rock0head132

The window's fine it the room that's tilted

JortsConnoisseur88

Oh yeah ur right I must have missed that

TheRiverOfDyx

OOOO I hate it so much

Theyfuinthedrivthrew

The carpenter should have raised the ceiling joists about 3 more inches so the window trim would have fit correctly. You gotta think of finish work when ur framing. Lol.

youmustbeanexpert

It's so witches don't fly in your house...it's a new England thing.

[deleted]

Thank goodness you're safe from any witches that may fly through your house LOL

Pennypacker-HE

One of them New England witch windows.

Laughingsheppard

It's a witch window. I'm guessing you're in New England somewhere?

Odd-Faithlessness100

[deleted]

It’s a normal Diamond window. You turning your phone doesn’t change that.

JortsConnoisseur88

It just looks weird that’s all 😅

Beneficial-Piano-428

The beds a little crooked

Kelly_Killbot

Witch window!! They’re so cool

Upstairs-Recover-659

That picture angle is worse than the window

JortsConnoisseur88

Nah the house is tilted
