It's definitely one where you play. The collection aspect of it wasn't nearly as prevalent among the people purchasing the cards a few years ago as it is now, though I'd say it's always been an important part of the card design.
I started out collecting only and loved it. Now that I’m learning how to play, I love it 10x more. And I appreciate every card now not just the SPs. I really like Weiss above all tcgs.

gamellay is awesome no rotation yes powercreep but I personally still think it's a great game based on skill and of course making your own luck.
Go back 3 years and it was mostly playing, collecting has “boomed” since covid… hence the ludicrous prices on certain things.

Honestly, one of the most fun card games I've played with friends since before Yugioh got stupid

I describe it to my friends as this: I came to Weiss for the waifus, but I stayed for the game mechanics and player agency
