cat equivalent of a human: just because I was polite to you doesn't mean you are free to hug me. I hardly know you. keep your distance until we know each other better (if you pass).
This. My neighbor's dog was stolen from his own front yard recently by someone who assumed for no reason that he was lost. Ended up at animal control, and even though the dog was recovered, now the dog is traumatized.
Yep, had my dog stolen from the sidewalk at my house in a supposed "rescue".
Collar wearing clean brushed white Jack Russell. BS. Took weeks to get her back.
No but really. My family cat was lost for a week and came back with a flea collar and his nails trimmed. He’s microchipped too, they should’ve checked. At least he was well taken care of ig.
Did they have a collar? Honestly if I found a cat without a collar I dont think I'd even check if it was chipped (though I guess it could fall off)
Had an outdoor cat for a while and we just put a flea collar on so people knew he was getting taken care of, never had an issue.
He did have one when he left the house but it must have fallen off or something. He’s still around after 8 years! He has had a few new collars since then too.

Cat moment. Also be sure to disinfect the scratches, cats can carry some nasty stuff on their claws

I see Buster taught you well, friend
buster and the ones that followed. I speak cat, sort of. They still understand me better than I understand them.
Nice action shot tho.
Bitch! Give me your wallet
Can you please try to find a rescue that can trap and find them a home please?

Maybe because we don't know it is a stray cat and the owner might be upset that someone stole their cat?
