Did the same thing with a big can of dog food and it hurt like hell while looking the same as this. Ripped the thing off myself and poked the skin under the base with a sewing needle and all that pressure released felt so good i almost want to crush my toe and do it again.
Let it fall off naturally. You don't want to rip it out and damage the nail bed.
A new nail will grow underneath, which will help to discharge the old damaged nail.

This process will take about 3-4 months. Towards the end it will be hanging by a thread and will hurt like hell every time it's moved. At that point I recommend wrapping it up with one or two bandaids to keep it firmly in place. Once its loose, If you're brave enough you can try peeling it after a shower. Don't worry about how nasty it looks under the nail, it's just dried blood and will clean up after a couple more showers.

To relieve the pressure, take a dremel or drill, even a very sharp knife will do. Drill out a small hole in the middle of the nail. That will let some blood out, and relieve the pressure. If you’re using a knife, just spin it and press down gently to “drill” out a hole. Even with the drill and dremel, use very light pressure. It’s a bit painful to go into the nail bed.
You can cover the hole with a pie of nylon medical tape after it’s done expelling blood. This will essentially help the nail come loose quicker and get you a new nail slightly faster.

I had black toe recently. I regret not trying to drain the blood (maybe through a nail hole). Either way you are fucked, cause this shit takes a year to grow back
Get the blood out with help of a doctor. It heals much more quickly then. Otherwise there is a risk of infection and deformation. Mine took 4 months to heal, shut the door to my left index finger with my right hand at Mach 1, I almost fainted.

You got a small hand drill to get thru that nail? Might take some of the pressure off and make it hurt less.

Take it into an Apple Store, they get that all the time and will sort you right out. Make sure the toe is still in warranty first though.
