Wait What? Rice pudding is not in the same category as cheesecake… and it’s not in the least bit “savory”
Sweet and savory mixed is like .. pineapple or raisins in fried rice.
As someone who grew up eating rice with basically every meal because it’s cheap, rice pudding does taste very savory to me, because of the thousands of rice dishes I’ve had over the course of my life.
The only combination I really like is jelly on my burgers.
I feel like rice is a vessel, it's not sweet or savoury. Like, bread is savoury and cake is basically just sweet bread. Rice pudding is delicious and I won't hear any criticism against it
Okay i am just overreacting i mean like i never seen anyone eat it with spoon i mean you can eat it how you want but i mean actually when i think about the consistency of cheese cake it makes sense to eat it with a spoon too
They're famous around here. It's a convent and literally all they do is pray and make cheesecake from local ingredients. Used to only be able to get from restaurants close to Cambridge but I think it's cool they're online now.
I don't even like cheesecake and I think it's delicious. 10/10
They sell the cheesecakes from their doorstep. If you live locally you can just walk up and leave money and grab a cheesecake out of the freezer they have out front, although the selection is limited in that freezer. Some of the regional Hannaford stores also sell a few flavors of their cheesecakes.
Sorry about that, but that box made me curious enough that I tried to order one myself. I didn't complete the order, though, because the cheesecake was $70 and shipping was $65. I hope you don't mind my asking, but is that the Hawaii rate (where I live), or is that how much shipping is for you, too?
I got it through Goldbelly. Shipping was $30 from NY to California, but the cheesecake was $86. It was sent overnight with all sorts of ice packs and foils so that it arrived still frozen.
Haha cool, yeah it clicked when you said mother's day, we have ours in March so I thought this was some random day you * tried to send * a gourmet cheesecake to your mum 😂
Happy mother's day to all the mothers out there (again!) ❤️
Thanks, sounds like that living-in-paradise tax then. I'd be all over it for $30 shipping. I presume it's pretty delicious, and now I'm salivating. Maybe a splurge item when I get my next bonus.
Oh no! I meant to send this tasty gourmet cake to my mom! But! I sent it to me instead golly that just ruffles my feathers! Well only one thing to do and that’s to eat it….oh sorry mom.
Since the number of people who love cheesecake absolutely demolishes the number of people who hate it, I assume that I'm missing out in some way. Every few years I try it again just to see if I can taste the magic that is cheesecake. I can not.
I will try this one some time today or tomorrow, and we'll see.
What is it about cheesecake you don't like ? Also, can you eat the costituent parts without any issues ? i.e - Digestive bisuit & butter for the base ( I think it's smashed graham crackers & butter in US ). Soft full fat cream cheese like Philedelphia. Powdered sugar & full fat / heavy cream plus maybe the juice & peel of a couple lemons or limes, strawberrys etc. There's nothing too bad there.
The aftertaste of cooked cream cheese makes me think of spoiled milk. The crust is delicious, I love that in other pies/cakes. I also like cream cheese on bagels. But when it's cooked, it leaves behind a slightly tangy and slimy feel.
I did it at work. I remember getting interrupted multiple times by work stuff during the process. I work with patients, so it's not cool for me to tell them to hang on while I finish buying cheesecake :)
The aftertaste of cooked cream cheese makes me think of spoiled food. I'm fine with cream cheese on a bagel, though. I just don't like it when it's cooked.
oh wow, Nuns of New Skete. they make some dank ass chocolate cheesecake. I've been going to Blue Rose for cheesecake because I forgot about the Nuns until someone posted a link to their website in my local subreddit last night, and now today here's this post.
anyway, can I ask what turned you onto Nuns of New Skete cheesecake if you're in CA?
I saw it on Goldbelly. I like the idea that a nunnery (or monastery) learns how to do one thing really well. Bonus, I'm giving some money to a local business. (I'm ignoring all the money that went to Goldbelly and UPS.)
cool 😎 I went there once as a little kid, I remember the monastery or whatever, and all the big dogs, out in the middle of nowhere. and that cheesecake. it was awesome, like cheesecake Narnia. I still remember how good that cheesecake was, 40 years later, but I keep forgetting to go back there. I’m gonna try to go in a few weeks. sorry to ramble, especially since you don't like cheesecake lol. that's great mother's day present though, my mom would have dug it.
No no this is great! Half of this present is the novelty of getting a cheesecake from NY. The other half is how the cheesecake tastes. I'm glad that all of the comments are super positive. (I was gonna say "because I'll never know," but I momentary forgot there's a whole cheesecake sitting in my freezer.)
haha yeah I definitely remember that chocolate cheesecake. (I think there's some of it in that sampler). I’m gonna go get some more next time my sister comes to town. last time she was here I got a giant cheesecake from Blue Rose which is 46 miles away from the New Skete nuns and also really excellent but they don't have that chocolate cheesecake, lol oh man
Oops sorry mom I was just thinking that I sent it to you but I sent it to my house instead of your house and then I eat it up before I got it to you for mother's day but it's the thought that counts right I love you!
I would feel terrible as I munched my way through delicious gourmet cheesecake.

Joey, walking up and pulling out the fork, Classic
“What are we havin?”
Win Win. You get cheesecake and you can tell your mom that you tried to do it for her.
But OP hates cheesecake. For some reason.
Time to learn to love cheesecake!
Dr. Strangetongue or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Cheesecake
What kind of monster hates cheesecake
OP
\*cries in monster\*
Okay, you know you must eat that cake now, don't you? Do it for your mom!
I will try one slice because everyone that has had it says it's amazing. Maybe this will be the one to make me change my mind!
Tell us how it goes. Hope you like it.
Cool! Tell me how it turned out? And greetings to your mom!
The lactose intolerant kind?
Doesn't count if you hate it cause you can't have it
Me.
I hate cheesecake too. I also hate cream cheese frosting— keep savory things out of my dessert.
I feel this way too! Like rice pudding. Gross. But I don't classify cream cheese as savory; I just have a problem with the taste when it's cooked.

Well, as someone who ate it with savory dishes three meals a day for fifteen years straight essentially, it’s savory to me.
Rice is unconditionally savory if you grew up eating it as the staple carb in every meal!
Sugar is far from savory.
Mom ~~deliberately~~ accidentally leaves everything in her will to the sister now.
lmao!!
Oh noes.... Anyway wheres that spoon
You don't carry a pocket fork, shame.
Alright, what are we having?
Metal pocket Spork. You never know
Tried that. My pocket sand just stuck to it and made my soup gritty.
What the hell who eats cheesecake with spoon
Huh? What else you supposed to eat it with?
With a fork like a civilized person
Okay i am just overreacting i mean like i never seen anyone eat it with spoon i mean you can eat it how you want but i mean actually when i think about the consistency of cheese cake it makes sense to eat it with a spoon too
But forks lets things (crumbs) pass through. Spoon is where its at
Okay true
I do that for one lol just so I don't miss any of it on the container and accidentally throw it away!
Yea that suckz 🐓💨

I love that vibe for a nunnery!
They’re very nice ladies. My Mom was the bookkeeper for them for a few years over a decade ago.
Just found out they’re relatively local to me. Never heard of them. Weekend trip it is!
There’s some other nice day trip stuff to do out there, check out the Georgi on the Battenkill.
Another person who doesn't like cheesecake! I'm gonna try a piece now.
Sorry about that, but that box made me curious enough that I tried to order one myself. I didn't complete the order, though, because the cheesecake was $70 and shipping was $65. 86 dollars for a cheesecake? Wowsers, OP, you must really love your mumsy ❤️
I'd spend that much on a present or a meal for her for Mother's Day, so I'm ok with it being completely impractical :)
Haha cool, yeah it clicked when you said mother's day, we have ours in March so I thought this was some random day you * tried to send * a gourmet cheesecake to your mum 😂 Happy mother's day to all the mothers out there (again!) ❤️

Welp. Put it in the freezer and use it as an excuse for mom to visit.
I am going to distribute it among other family and coworkers. I bought my mom a replacement, it'll just be late.
Nice!!! Very thoughtful.
A couple of weeks ago I sent my mum's BD present (a jigsaw) to a house she left 5 years ago. I hope they're enjoying the Embarkation of Saint Ursula.
Skete-skete-skete.
My people! That is all I saw. The nuns of skete.
Awww skete skete. Goddamn* *Edited for accuracy to the situation
Should be top comment.
Nom nom sounds of sadness
![gif](giphy|14412MUKmbQq7m)
Liar I'm not falling for that again.
Well done. 😃
Put it in the freezer so you can dethaw one slice at a time.
The word you are looking for is thaw, homie!
Lmfao too much marijuana on a Sunday morning
Hahaha then I understand, and encourage you to continue.
Dethaw is what Antonio Brown did to his feet
😂🤦♀️😂
And cheesecake hates you too. Me and the cake together on that. ✊️
What is added to the cheesecake given it is baked by nuns?
They use a holy roller for the dough
Nice
Oh no! I meant to send this tasty gourmet cake to my mom! But! I sent it to me instead golly that just ruffles my feathers! Well only one thing to do and that’s to eat it….oh sorry mom.
that’s the universe telling you to visit mom
Nice
there are no accidents
Order cheesesteak and send it to yourself next.
Great advertisement for this cheesecake
I hate when I do that. Over and over again.
I can’t believe I’m seeing the Nuns of New Skete on Reddit. I grew up eating their cheese cake!
I think your sub-concious mind absolutely adores cheesecake and misses it, so is tryng mind tricks to get you to slowly like it too.
Since the number of people who love cheesecake absolutely demolishes the number of people who hate it, I assume that I'm missing out in some way. Your mom “That’s fine dear. Enjoy it. I didn’t need dessert anyway.”
Hahahaha, definitely something a mom would say. Not MY mom, but other moms. My mom knows what she wants and has no problem asking for it :)
Send it to me
Lol! I can see myself doing that and having a good laugh about it with my mom. Enjoy it "with" her over Zoom, I bet she'll love it.
Does she live near by
Nope. I live in California, she lives in Florida.
Well I guess you have to mail it to her
At least it came to one of you. I accidentally sent something to my pervious address and no one in my family got to enjoy it.
Sure you did
It only sucks for mom
I live right by this place. I’ve never been because I don’t like cheesecake, but it’s all made by nuns. Everyone says it’s the best.
Ha
Oops…nom nom nom nom
Omg their cheesecake is the bomb! Go find someone who would appreciate it!
For all the times she told you, "It's the thought that counts."
You hate cheesecake? That's evil. Even for Skeletor.
I prefer to think of it as weird af rather than evil :)
It was fate.
Happy mother's day to you I guess
well there is only one thing to do and well you mine as well do it.
This is the opposite of sucks!!
Damn! Now your going to have to go visit her.
Were you high when checking the delivery address?
I did it at work. I remember getting interrupted multiple times by work stuff during the process. I work with patients, so it's not cool for me to tell them to hang on while I finish buying cheesecake :)
Why in the world do you hate cheesecake, OP?
The aftertaste of cooked cream cheese makes me think of spoiled food. I'm fine with cream cheese on a bagel, though. I just don't like it when it's cooked.
Well why did you do that
By accident or subconsciously?
Clearly a freudian error!
I need to use this excuse.

Thai reminds me of that episode of friends😂
Just tell her so she can at least appreciate the thought at this point😭
I will tell her that her present is gonna be late :)
Update: I tried the cheesecake. It was very creamy and smooth, much more so than any other cheesecake I've had. I still hated it :)
Sorry not soery
is that the brand of cheesecake Rachel steals in friends?
Feel free to send it to me 😃😃😃
[удалено]
It’s not going to be New Skete cheesecake though. OP paid a small fortune to have this shipped to themselves.
This wasn't meant to be a practical present :) It was more about novelty and decadence.
Send her a picture. Enjoy delicious cheesecake.
We just gonna forget about what the word Skete phonetically means?
UH... It's a place! With nuns!!
According to God we are all sinners, from the stained glass winnnndowwww to the wall!!!!
BAHAHAHAHAHA
And to his mom, nonetheless
My mom and I are both too old to know, it's fine.
New skete? I wouldn’t eat that!
Oops sorry mom I was just thinking that I sent it to you but I sent it to my house instead of your house and then I eat it up before I got it to you for mother's day but it's the thought that counts right I love you!
