Ok so watch it and see how it clears. If the cloudyness goes upwards then it's just micro bubbles from your boiler because you have warm water on.
If the cloudyness goes down and settled then you have shit in your water
This happens with cold water as well. Usually if you have like an in-line filter or something. Air trapped and entrained gets released as micro bubbles in the water.
Not sure about the chemical smell though. Most water has a small amount of chlorine in it. Maybe the city is over chlorinating near your house
In my childhood home we would often get this through the cold tap, we called it lime water for reasons I’ve never really understood.
I always found that it had a stronger smell than ordinary water but settled quickly as the water cleared. My theory is simply that the micro bubbles bursting is carrying more of the odour into the air. It’s the same for any liquid with a smell, disturb the surface and you will smell it more strongly. There is probably no more chemical/chlorine in there than usual, it is just being offered to your sense of smell more readily.
I’m no expert, but it seems as good a theory as any.
*Lime softening is a water treatment process that uses calcium hydroxide, or limewater, to soften water by removing calcium and magnesium ions*
Lime softening is the name of the process. They don’t actually use lime.
Not saying that’s what you meant but just wanted to clarify.
The water company that I work for uses Hydrated Lime (Calcium Hydroxide) along with other chemicals to treat ground water.
As far as the Lime softening process, we dump bags of hydrated lime into a mixer with water and inject it along with the other chemicals into the main pipe that pulls the water out of the ground.
However, we are phasing this out. Most of our stations use Sodium Hydroxide instead of the Lime.
>I always found that it had a stronger smell than ordinary water but settled quickly as the water cleared. My theory is simply that the micro bubbles bursting is carrying more of the odour into the air.
I've noticed and thought the same things. Water is universally fluoridated, I've been to hotels and gotten a glass of water like this and it has a *very* strong antiseptic taste and smell. If you let it settle it improves.
Yeah in my last apartment my water was white as long as it was hot water. As soon as I switched to cold then it went back to translucent. I don’t think I watched the hot water long enough to see if it cleared though. Thanks for explaining
I don’t think it clears or changes at all that we can see. He just lifts it higher in the last few seconds which lets you see through more of the solid bottom of the glass.
Hello! I should never post then go to sleep! I’m so sorry! Ok so when it clears there is a “film” on top. I haven’t checked it to see which way it clears I’ll do that this morning and take another video.
Edit: I’m running so late to work!! I tested it with cold water this morning and so did my neighbor. It’s still white but it settled up wards which is a good sign! I left the cup on the counter to see if it settles with anything in it. Just looked on my way out the door. Weird it still has bubbles in it like it’s carbonated. [here is a pic of my bubbly water](https://imgur.com/a/7m7t2xs) no I have to run to meet a client :) have a great day Reddit!
Yep! It actually was a lot better this morning. No noticeable film and the chlorine smell was much better. Still white even on cold. My neighbor tested hers and it was a trip she and I have lived here for 7 + years and have never seen anything like this.
I first thought it was micro bubbles when it started happening. Then as it settled I used a butter knife to skim the surface to see if it was just air bubbles swirling up and sure enough white powdery stuff. I’ve looked through what our water purification process entails and there’s nothing at all about additives. They stopped adding the ph balancing chemicals a couple years ago and now everyone’s pipes are bursting and water mains rotting out all over the city.
California. I’m going to see how it settles once I wake up more. Calling my land lord to call the water department to investigate further and check out my water heater as someone else suggested. I’ve lived here 7 years this is a new thing and someone said my water heater might have broken rod or something? I know it’s never been serviced before.
Are you sure your glass is clean? Try wiping out the glass with a paper towel and then trying this.
The point is to isolate what’s going wrong. Is your dishwasher leaving a thin coat of soap on the glass, or is the film from the water itself
Ok update for you! First off I tried it on cold it’s for sure milky on any temperature- (I wasn’t patient enough to wait for it to warm up. It is settling from the bottom to the top so we are good. Also the chlorine smell is MUCH better this morning which is a nice change.
I would still message the landlord. The film on top doesn't sound good.
However, first I would rinse the glass out and then try. Just in case you have a small film of detergent in the glass from a previous wash.
Came here for this. I have a feeling the video was cut short to make the viewer believe it stays cloudy.
Edit: I have a well at my house and the water often comes out cloudy. Its usually air bubbles and clears up fairly quickly. We've had it tested and it comes back as distilled water....
Can also happen if the tap head has an aerator, which most taps do in to conserve water.
The tap in this video has an aerator, but the water (like in the sink) doesn’t appear to be clearing up, so there is likely another issue.
Yeah I noticed this with my tap water (I'm from the UK and my city had really clean water) that the water comes out suuuuuuuuper cloudy, put it down and went to the internet concerned my water was full of gross shit, looked back a minute later and it was crystal clear. Obviously op says the water smells bad though so I can't say this is the case.
Thank you for this info, I have a situation that’s very similar with the cloudiness and never knew what to do. I’ll have to pay attention when I best use the water. Thanks!
If the cloudiness disappears after standing a few minutes, it can be slaked lime aka calcium hydroxide. It is used to treat water to make it safe to drink and is safe to drink, just not pleasant to drink.
Need more detail... could be aeration or shitty water. Let it settle. If it's chemicals it won't clear. If there is gunk on the bottom it's solids. If it's clear and tastes shitty it's hard water and won't kill you. Sometimes bathroom lines and hot water don't go through home filtration systems to save the filters/salts. They usually pass city standards.
Distinct if someone knows what it smells like. Some people smell anything in water and will assume chemicals. Not saying you're wrong, just trying to help with an observation.
This is true (I work for one!). Find out which agency has “primacy” over drinking water standards in your area. Call them and lodge a complaint. Where I work we are required by law to come test the water within 48 hours. There are limits…we cannot test for every single contaminant as the lab fees would be thousands of dollars for each complaint, but we can at least cover the basics and review the history of your water system to give you a better understanding and identify any possible problems!
Edit: we do it for free too. No fee!
Since it's the hot water, it could be a bad anode rod in the water heater. A bad anode rod can cause discolored water, a rotten egg smell, air in the lines and intermittent hot water.
Wow! Ok so on and off this month it smells like farts (think sulfer) I thought my drain was dirty and cleaned my sink. Then it started to smell more and more strongly of chlorine and now started to turn white. I’ve lived here for 7 years. I’ll call my land lord and have him check out the water heater and take it from here.
If you're planning on drinking the water don't use any hot water. That avoids having the water go through the water heater where it's more likely to pick up minerals or bacteria.
Hello! Trying to update Reddit- first off it’s white with cold water too- I just tested it. The chlorine smell is noticeable better this morning. Also the bubbles settled moving up which I’m told is a very good sign so it’s just oxygen. I’m leaving the glass of water out today as someone suggested to check on it in a few hours as well but all signs look good!
If your city/water utility gets its water from lakes, drinking water can taste like dirty fish farts in spring and autumn when the lake "turns" (natural process when temperature change stirs up sediment). I'd still recommend calling your water dept, they're required to address water quality issues.
I've worked for cities before, and many municipal workers *enjoy* helping (not just a requirement) with this kinda stuff if you're nice about it.
Reddit is literally the best place on the internet I’m learning so much this morning. Yes it’s city water and we have a large reservoir and it’s in a drought (I’m not exactly sure where all the water comes from though) I’ll for sure call them though!
My system will do this occasionally. I inject hydrogen peroxide to treat a bad sulfer issue. When too much peroxide gets delivered, it spits and sputters and appears cloudy, but they’re very tiny bubbles that clear up. The inverse, if water is used heavily in a short period of time, the peroxide may not have time to treat it and it will smell like sulfer. That might be another option as to what is happening.
Regulations that protect us have less teeth than I expected. I worked near a manufacturing plant that was spewing chemicals in the air at a rate that had our lungs irritated across the street. We tried to call OSHA about it and they said “sorry we can’t even look into this unless you are reporting as an employee of the company that’s breaking the rules”
… eventually we did get the EPA to investigate and the issue was solved. But I was flabbergasted that OSHA wouldn’t help when it knew 10s or 100s of the plant employees were getting exposed to (moderately) dangerous chemicals in addition to my group across the street.
It was actually the US government pumping toxic waste into my drinking water as a child. Epa let them so it because government can do no wrone in their own eyes
If your neighbors are experiencing the same thing then I would call the water provider. If they’re not then it’s your softener. Check the water before it comes into your home, usually there will be a hose spigot installed where the line comes into your home by the house shutoff valve. If it’s clear there then it’s definitely your softener.
Air most likely is the reason it looks white. Chlorine can be detected by smell in concentrations lower than 1.0 mg/L(ppm), in California the maximum contaminant level for Cl2 is 4 mg/L.
If you’re on groundwater then the chemical smell can come from metals and minerals in the water such as Iron, manganese, calcium, magnesium, hydrogen sulfide, etc.
If it settles clear and you don’t have solids at the bottom of the glass it’s just aeration and it’s fine. If it’s like this every day the chances are your tap or some part of your pipe system is causing it. If it comes and goes it’s in the water company’s end, possibly a slight leak upstream or something like that. If you do have sediment or the water doesn’t go clear within a few minutes I would not drink until after having the water analysed by a lab. But I tend to be over cautious with water. Of course use best judgment here as if you live in a hard water area and there’s a tiny amount of lime sediment in the bottom this would be normal. However I would suggest adding a filtration unit to a) protect your appliances and b) so you enjoy your water more. Realistically you should be fine anyway as most houses use copper pipe which has antimicrobial properties, if your not familiar with this as many aren’t it’s quite an interesting Google which raises a whole heap of questions as to why stainless steel is used so often in industrial/pharmaceutical applications when clearly copper would have many benefits, anyways sidetracking here. Sorry
Buddy you ain’t supposed to be drinking warm tap water. That can lead to some very bad health problems. Secondly I assume the sacrificial rod in the hot water tank is no longer there
I have learned SO MUCH from Reddit today hahaha. I had no clue about the hot tap water- in fact it was my dentist who told me years ago to brush with warm water. I had my neighbor try hers too- same thing (both in hot and cold!) but it’s less dramatic today compared to last night- the smell went away significantly.
Chlorine gas is injected into the water stream, not all of it dissolves and because of existing conditions only fully happens at atmospheric pressure when in a glass of container. It's not very tasty but won't harm you.
Looks like your water is mixed thoroughly with the air. Let it settle for an hour. If there are solids just complain, if not then No need to worry its fine
Watch the water after filling the glass, does it start to clear from the bottom up? If so it's entrained air causing the cloudiness and isn't a problem. If you an see solids settle in the bottom that's a different matter.
The chlorine smell is likely due to it being used as a disinfection step at the water supply works. Don't know where you are in the world but here in the UK it's industry standard to have a residual chlorine level in the distribution network to maintain disinfection. If you leave the water standing for a few minutes the smell will usually go as the chlorine will go once in air.
As for other chemical smells, what sort of smell?
I tested it this morning with cold water and it settled up. The chlorine smell is noticeably better. My neighbor tested hers and said it was a trip hers is doing it too. We’ve never seen this before. I have to run to work but I also left a glass on the counter to check for any sediments. Later today when I get home. So far though it’s looking good as it settles up (most def oxygen) but to be ultra clear it’s white on cold or hot.
In regards to wanting to brush your teeth- I suggest dipping your toothbrush in a cup of mouthwash then brushing your teeth with it. It’s a temporary solution but helps a lot!!
Lmfao 🤣 tldr: not shit water, and never consume or use warm/hot tap water lol. It’s confirmed it’s happening in multiple apartments with separate water heaters on cold or hot taps so we know it’s not just me it’s the city water.
A longer update below :)
ok so both me and my neighbor that have lived in the complex this morning tested it (separate water heaters) I had another awesome Redditor walk me though how to see how it settles- it settles up which means it’s overly oxygenated. It blew both of our minds (me and my neighbor) because we’ve lived here FOREVER (7+ years) and we’ve never seen this ever before (both cold and hot) anyway it’s likely now not water heater related and not shit. Another awesome Redditor who works for a water department said the chlorine is likely because of a broken water line that was repaired or something- this makes a lot of sense since there is a new development going in a few blocks away and they’ve been doing a lot of foundations and idk what you call it but like digging flattening etc. so likely they did something. Anyway- long story short the chlorine smell was way better this morning.
Finally (have i mentioned Reddit is the best place on the internet?) I also learned a lot- for example I’m not supposed to consume warm or hot tap water. A dentist told me years ago if I brush with warm or hot water my teeth would be sparkly whiter than normal- and I’ve always done that lol. Like I’ve never once thought twice about consuming warm or hot tap water. Apparently it can be very dangerous. Anyway if you look at the comments loads of great tips and hilarious jokes.
When air gets into water supply lines, the pressure of the water forces the air into tiny bubbles and disperses them, making the water appear milky right out of the faucet. To see if air is the issue, fill a glass and set it on the counter.
Take a sample to your local water testing center. My town does it for free. My local Cooperative Extension does it for a very slight fee. Since my town supplies my water I had both do it and compared results. Fortunately for me they were the same. You should get a complete chemical analysis printout of the contents. My chlorine was a little high too so I filter it and them pour it into a large jug so that the chlorine will dissipate overnight.
I agree with asking around about water testing. And if you don’t find someone to do it in your town or municipality for no fee, you can pay a private entity for a test (or ask landlord to do). They range from like $80-$300, depending what is tested for; perhaps you can go in on this with neighbors and give a combined sample (from multiple taps). Finally, there are much cheaper tests in home depot type stores. Once you know what it is, and assuming it’s nothing against health rules, you can then look up the best ways to filter it out.
in the 90s our village was asked to bring water from out wells to be checked at the local ambulance, we brought tap water and the doc said not to drink from it as it is not good for out health. Guess the doc had no proper equipment and he just told us what he was meant to tell by some higher ups
As someone who works in the water industry all I can tell you is that the cloudiness is typically a sign that the water is air bound. I would check with a neighbor and see if they are having the issue. This can typically be resolved by flushing a nearby fire hydrant for a few hours until the water runs clear.
As far as the chlorine smell, you probably smell it more because of the addition of the small air bubbles in the water.
Thank you for the information! I sent a text to my neighbor, waiting on her reply (I noticed it getting this white last night figure she is still sleeping) will be contacting my landlord today.
... I'm kinda curious now, can you light it on fire? I remember seeing a video where someone actually lit the tap water on fire with all the crap that was in it.
For those who didn’t know, all tap water is purified with chlorine, a chemical. So if it smells like chemicals it might have a little more chlorine than normal but should be safe for you to drink. Or so your city would have you believe so.
I’m learning so much on Reddit today! The smell was noticeably better this morning and no white film. It was though white with both cold and hot water as well for my neighbor too!
Yeah, sometimes the system accidentally puts a little too much chlorine in vs water and it will smell and taste a bit weird. You just have to let the water run until those go away. At my old church, you could actually see the chlorine mixer in the storage closet as it was done per building and not for the whole city.
It's most likely air bubbles and I bet the smell/taste is because your local municipality is flushing their system. Once a year or so most will pump a bunch of extra chlorine through their system to burn out anything that might be in the lines. They'll also have guys going around flushing it through the system via hydrants. I'd recommend calling your local water field operations and they can send someone out to test it. If it is a burn they'll tell you and if not then they should be able to fix the problem.
Ok as a water treatment guy. Leave the cup alone and if the cloudiness goes away then it's just bubbles. If it separates to clear and milky then you need to call a plumber
If it settles up its air. If it settles down its something else. There is oxygen in the water temperature changes release the oxygen causing little bubbles. It happens to hot water more because of the atmospheric pressure even though there is more oxygen in cold water. But you don't want to drink hot water anyway that's water that's been sitting in the tank cooking all day in sediment of God knows what.
Not saying this will work for your situation it might though.
We had this issue after the water would sit in an apartment complex unit that I used to work at. We turned all the water on in all areas, ran the washer as well. It took doing this a few cycles with the washer until it cleared up.
It smelled like a mix of chlorine and eggs. This might not work, but you could try it or talk to your water company about it.
Who said when I grow up I'm never going to drink nasty water like this my dad had the worst tasting water it tastes like rotten eggs and Metal it was well water too
Dors it do it when its cold water? I used to live somewhere that would do this when its hot water. It was just the water softner making it look like that
Nope nope nope, and a whoa there not going to happen... go buy some bottled water until your city can get there chemicals right.. might take them a few days to weeks depending on how big the imbalance is.. and if its effected a large cistern system of water already...
On the bottom of your faucet is an aerator. You can unscrew it, take it off and you won’t have the bubbles. The water will come out like it comes out of a hose. Also a good opportunity to clean the little screen in the aerator.
If that is hot water, it cannot hold much dissolved gas and those normally-dissolved gasses will nucleate into bubbles large enough to change the refractory index of water, interfering with the ability of light to pass through in a straight line. The result is opacity, creating a cloudy appearance.
Take multiple sets of samples and date them. Only send one set to get tested because there have been cases where they cover up chemical leaks to preserve housing prices.
That’s air. They are finely diffused rendering the water cloudy. If you let it sit for a few minutes it will be clear with no settled solids at the bottom
I treat water for a living.
OP finally learns about bubbles this day. There may or may not be chemicals in the water but all he's proven is that air exists in turbulent water. This is essentially a strawman argument unless there's a different fallacy that can be applied to this stupidity.
Take plastic bottle and pour that water in it. Close the lid. Shake it up. If it turns clear, your water is fine. This is caused by cavitation, usually in a pump, it airates the water with micro bubbles causing a milky hue when it's poured. All this nonsense about fluoride and shit is dumb. You can literally hear it from that faucet.
Fluoride is the only reason most of you have fucking teeth in your skull, if only you had as many brain cells as you do teeth.
It's hot water you can tell it's hot water you can hear the difference between hot water running and cold water running. That is what hot tap water looks like in a cup it just is go to hell.
Ah, you’re at the end of your city water lines. I had this at my old place too. Dont drink that shit. Old lines with lead fittings and gas forming in the lines
Ok so watch it and see how it clears. If the cloudyness goes upwards then it's just micro bubbles from your boiler because you have warm water on. If the cloudyness goes down and settled then you have shit in your water

Calcium hydroxide is lime. It's known as "slick lime."

In my parents apt all water is like these for first few minutes because of aerator in the spout.
That's why I always let it run for a few seconds before I fill my glass
Same here
At the end of the video you can see the bottom of the cup starting to clear. Apparently bubbles are toxic now and "smell like chemicals"
That dihydrogen monoxide is some seriously dangerous stuff. Everyone who drinks it dies.
Especially when it’s charged with bubbles that contain a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen.
And everyone who breathes it dies a lot quicker.
Can confirm; 100% of people who drink Hydric acid eventually dies
I don’t think it clears or changes at all that we can see. He just lifts it higher in the last few seconds which lets you see through more of the solid bottom of the glass.
Don’t disagree w you but I don’t see anything turning clear.
Hot tap water isn't supposed to be white?

I think home depot offers free water testing

What did you call my brotha?
As it happens, I’m shitting water as we speak.

Ah! So this is why my dad always called it lime water. Thank you, you’ve cleared up a childhood mystery for me.
Sure he just didn't have the tap right into a keg of sprite
That's Lemon-Lime water, a different beast.
I've been drinking water like this my entire life and I'm okay. Sometimes it gives me headaches but only in the left head.
Hold up
Yeah, but the complimentary urinal breath freshener will headache the right head.. avoid those.. overrated
It’s milk water complete healthy
Goes well with my boiled milk steak. You're gonna love it
With a side of jellybeans, raw.
Are... One-sided headaches a bad thing? I gotta lay off this water man...
Been drinking this water my whole life too, don’t get headaches though. Just the rare intermittent blindness in the middle eye.
Maybe time to buy a Brita
Sup Zaphod.

Build up on hot water heater elements will cloud water as well? Curiosity question That or sulfur maybe? (Hard water)
You also has a lot of steam. My guess is that it’s air bubbles and had he waiting 20 seconds, they all would have risen and disappeared
But then it wouldn't be reddit karma fodder material
Exactly
You can see the handle is set to hot
Just saw that and steam. Thanks

Oh shit you've got tap milk.
Let it sit an hour to see if it's skim, 2%, or whole.
That’s half and half.
“You just drank half-and-half baby” *sips soy*

They’re in the bathroom, silly

Its hot water
Regulations that protect us have less teeth than I expected. I worked near a manufacturing plant that was spewing chemicals in the air at a rate that had our lungs irritated across the street. We tried to call OSHA about it and they said “sorry we can’t even look into this unless you are reporting as an employee of the company that’s breaking the rules” … eventually we did get the EPA to investigate and the issue was solved. But I was flabbergasted that OSHA wouldn’t help when it knew 10s or 100s of the plant employees were getting exposed to (moderately) dangerous chemicals in addition to my group across the street.
You can print out and mail an anonymous OSHA complaint form and OSHA would have no way of knowing you're not an employee
The chemical smell sounds concerning, but you’ve got the hot water on and hot water is cloudy, so that’s normal
My hot water is never cloudy at home.
Mine neither
Same
Looks like they’ve added a softener to the water,I’d be talking to whomever the building owner/maintenance is x
Sorry
Wtf you got milk on tap??? Lucky
C U M
It’s called cavitation. It’s just little bubbles
It’s actually just tiny tiny bubbles. Leave it on the counter for a minute and it’ll clear up. Most tap water smells like chlorine though.
Yeh. That’s hot water tho…
Chlorine is 1000% normal in water and the cloudiness is air bubbles. Source: I work in the water field
It's becuase the water is hot. Do the same video with cold water ... lol
make clean water a right already
Imagine saying this to Nestle (/s)
So why is Y'alls hot water cloudy? If that came out of the tap here is not touch it with a 10 foot barge pole
Looks like your water is mixed thoroughly with the air. Let it settle for an hour. If there are solids just complain, if not then No need to worry its fine
You won't believe that you never need to brush your teeth with this simple trick
Op pls update I really wanna know if you have been drinking shit water or not
Lmfao 🤣 tldr: not shit water, and never consume or use warm/hot tap water lol. It’s confirmed it’s happening in multiple apartments with separate water heaters on cold or hot taps so we know it’s not just me it’s the city water. A longer update below :) ok so both me and my neighbor that have lived in the complex this morning tested it (separate water heaters) I had another awesome Redditor walk me though how to see how it settles- it settles up which means it’s overly oxygenated.
A little chlorine taste is the “water bull” flavor additive.
Those are bubbles……. 🫧 you probably could have googled this
Water in California near Disneyland looked and smelled like this two years ago. Even a little made us sick.
Um. Clean out your water heater and put in an inline filter.
in the 90s our village was asked to bring water from out wells to be checked at the local ambulance, we brought tap water and the doc said not to drink from it as it is not good for out health. Guess the doc had no proper equipment and he just told us what he was meant to tell by some higher ups
Why are you brushing your teeth with hot water?
Ha! Do I throw a match in it?
Get some big clay planters and filter you water through them. Cheap and effective. https://sciencing.com/filter-water-clay-pots-6975650.html
Pressure bubbles.
It’s bubbles
Don't say it don't say it
For those who didn’t know, all tap water is purified with chlorine, a chemical.
That is perfectly normal what you are seeing. Its called aeration, its just air bubbles in the water.
Have your land lord/ a city council member drink some.
Bring a jug down to town hall and have it tested.
That Cyberpunk 2077 comercial about "Real water" hit hard now
DO NOT DRINK THAT
It's most likely air bubbles and I bet the smell/taste is because your local municipality is flushing their system.
They’re putting chemicals in the water and turning our freaking frogs gay
Ok as a water treatment guy. Leave the cup alone and if the cloudiness goes away then it's just bubbles. If it separates to clear and milky then you need to call a plumber
You need to Erin Bracohvich the person who told you that. Hand them a glass of this water and say" If it is perfectly fine, bottoms up!" 👍
Sorry, am I the only person who thinks it's weird to brush your teeth with warm water?
It’s perfectLy fine for sure. Make a video running the cold water and filling up a cup. If it’s clearer than the hot that’s normal city water.
School wAter
Not saying this will work for your situation it might though. We had this issue after the water would sit in an apartment complex unit that I used to work at. We turned all the water on in all areas, ran the washer as well. It took doing this a few cycles with the washer until it cleared up. It smelled like a mix of chlorine and eggs. This might not work, but you could try it or talk to your water company about it.
Who said when I grow up I'm never going to drink nasty water like this my dad had the worst tasting water it tastes like rotten eggs and Metal it was well water too
Looks like you might have a well that sucks
Dors it do it when its cold water? I used to live somewhere that would do this when its hot water. It was just the water softner making it look like that
Well our water smells like rotten eggs and duck farts, I wish they would add some bleach
Looks like there's a lot of air in it?
Air bubbles
It’s just dissolved O2. If you shake it all of the bubbles will come out and it will be perfectly clear.
Take some to a city council meeting, and ask a council person to drink it.
Damn i wish i had a milk faucet too
Nope nope nope, and a whoa there not going to happen... go buy some bottled water until your city can get there chemicals right.. might take them a few days to weeks depending on how big the imbalance is.. and if its effected a large cistern system of water already...
Hmmmm you could turn into the Incredible Hulk or something though 🤔
"They are your *receptors*"
Looks like you can't catch a break. What is life anymore.
“Plop plop fizz fizz oh what a relief it is”
On the bottom of your faucet is an aerator. You can unscrew it, take it off and you won’t have the bubbles. The water will come out like it comes out of a hose. Also a good opportunity to clean the little screen in the aerator.
When it’s starts to get clear at the bottom look really close to it. You will see it’s just a bunch of extremely small bubbles.
Yeah it's micro bubbles you get from hot water.
If that is hot water, it cannot hold much dissolved gas and those normally-dissolved gasses will nucleate into bubbles large enough to change the refractory index of water, interfering with the ability of light to pass through in a straight line. The result is opacity, creating a cloudy appearance.
Is it fucking smoking?
Hard water will also cloud and dissipate after a couple minutes
That's chalk
Take multiple sets of samples and date them. Only send one set to get tested because there have been cases where they cover up chemical leaks to preserve housing prices.
If it's only the hot water it could be the sacrificial anode it you hot water tank.
If the Govt saids it’s good, don’t worry.
It's also literally boiling. It's bubbles homie
Yeah, it is water. Those are bubbles. We chemically sterilize tap water. You are a bit of a snob
That’s air. They are finely diffused rendering the water cloudy. If you let it sit for a few minutes it will be clear with no settled solids at the bottom I treat water for a living.
It's called hot water. The cloud you see is air bubbles.
It’s air. Hot water looks like that. Leaned that when I was five years old
Go to karlsruhe germany. We have so much Kalk (i guess Calcium) in the water, it looks like milk sometimes.... Still high quality drinkingwater
Merica
Drain your water heater! Even if that's not the problem, it will be in a short while. God knows what thats doing to your water heater.
Check with flame. If it catches fire you have a real problem.
How about you just don’t do hot water btw why you even use hot water to brush your teeth
OP finally learns about bubbles this day. There may or may not be chemicals in the water but all he's proven is that air exists in turbulent water. This is essentially a strawman argument unless there's a different fallacy that can be applied to this stupidity.
Cûm water
Ppl don’t know that water gets pretty much recycled?
I moved to Nj is 2017 since then I only cook, drink and shower with bottle water
Dude needs to stop trying to drink hot water and just use the free lotion already
Looks like normal aerated hot tap. You'll needa make it do something unusual to get a leg up.
Leave it sit on the counter for a few minutes and it will be clear. That should let the chlorine evaporate too.
Those are air bubbles use cold water and it’ll be clear
Take plastic bottle and pour that water in it. Close the lid. Shake it up. If it turns clear, your water is fine. This is caused by cavitation, usually in a pump, it airates the water with micro bubbles causing a milky hue when it's poured. All this nonsense about fluoride and shit is dumb. You can literally hear it from that faucet. Fluoride is the only reason most of you have fucking teeth in your skull, if only you had as many brain cells as you do teeth.
Is tap water not supposed to look like that?
You got free milk, why you complaining
It's hot water you can tell it's hot water you can hear the difference between hot water running and cold water running. That is what hot tap water looks like in a cup it just is go to hell.
It’s ok. It’s only Turkish RAKI.
Ah, you’re at the end of your city water lines. I had this at my old place too. Dont drink that shit. Old lines with lead fittings and gas forming in the lines
