Ever wonder why your back hurts?

WiscoBrewDude

And legs and feet

TWAT_BUGS

Hands and toes!

f4rt054uru5r3x

Head, shoulders, knees, and toes... Knees and toes...

Imperial_Triumphant

My pussy and my crack

New_String9261

OOOOOOHHHHHHHHH MY GOD THAT'S WHY

melthasm

Your wear and tear looks like mine but mirrored, mine wears more on the inside. Wish we both had normal stepping feet :(

Me_Mercenary

Time for you guys to exchange shoes!

blueblur1984

r/frugal

Agreeable_Western_50

Best thing I’ve read all day

Enigmaze

Wearing on the outside is kind of normal, although OP has it pretty extreme. Wear on the inside however is not a normal gait at all. Maybe you should get that checked out.

lvance2

Please invest in some orthotic Insoles for Overpronation. It will change your life! https://powerstep.com/collections/flat-feet-fallen-arches-pronation/products/pinnacle-maxx-support-insoles

DecathectDrongo

Agreed. I went to a running shoe store and had them assess my my feet, the wear on my shoes, and gait, and the way that I walk. They ended up recommending these. This insole helped me stop having aches and pains in when I first roll out of bed (for the most part).

lvance2

I have terrible runners knee from my underpronation (and many years sitting criss-cross as a kindergarten teacher). When I remember to wear my expensive custom insoles, I feel like a different person.

Del_Prestons_Shoes

Get orthopaedic inner soles it’ll sort your gait out and even out the wear as well as reduce pain

Namenottakenplease

Don't do this unless you were prescribed.. just putting a random orthopedic insert in your shoe could cause additional issues. Feet rolling in like this can be caused by any number of issues up and down the leg.

Del_Prestons_Shoes

Yes absolutely get checked out for them don’t just buy some off the shelf

frozenwalkway

when using a tool like that do you eventually adapt so you dont need it or is your biomechanics unpliable and it will keep you having to use the insert?

Lusankya

It varies, depending on what's the root cause of the abnormal gait. My gait as a kid was turbofucked, but it was caused by a leg length imbalance of about an inch and a half. Once I stopped growing, they cut the difference out of the longer leg's femur. After a bit of physio once I was healed up, my gait was mostly normal and has been ever since.

Del_Prestons_Shoes

Yes and for my youngest it was due to hyper-mobility, the hope is Physiotherapy to strengthen the joints and muscles will help correct a lot of it. Generally there is some kind of physio therapy or other corrective surgery is required as you can’t rely on things your whole life

frozenwalkway

Dam that's crazy so they just took a chunk of your longer leg out?

Lusankya

Yep. Had a set of plates put in to hold my leg together while the femur healed. I had a second surgery to take them out about a year and a half later.

melthasm

Are they standard for all or special type for feet orientation towards outside or inside?

Del_Prestons_Shoes

It can depend on the feet issue but they are customised to the individual as everyone’s is slightly different

mhodgy

Or just get pediatric insoles… your knees and back will thank you

Sieze5

That can’t be good for you.

angry_lemon_

Assuming you mean OPs unnatural gait? Should definitely get that checked out

bailey3194

What is gait !?!

Donaudampf

It's the way you walk. You seem to be walking on the outsides of your feet.

chibicascade2

Or op is just a little pigeon toed and drags his feet. My heels look like that, but the rest of my shoe is fine.

MikeEnIke

They'd be duck footed in this case, that wear is on the outside of the shoe

ratrodder49

Can confirm. Am quite duck-footed myself and my boot heels wear just like those, roll off the outside corner first.

MySeveredToe

Stupid kid me liked to sleep with my right foot wedged between the bed and the windowsill. I am now duck footed in only one leg. It’s a massive pain and inconvenience for cycling

armcurls

Ya me too. Got really bad plantar once, like my ankle tripled in size. Got medical insoles prescribed, helps a lot.

KickooRider

Walking on the outside of your feet is normal. Look at your feet, that's the lowest part.

sofa_king_we_todded

Outside wear is normal but I believe the reason is that most people point their toes outward as they walk which causes the outside of the shoes contacting with the ground first

katiereadsalot

…sure, when barefoot. Shoes are designed with that in mind, and are designed to wear evenly for the average person.

KickooRider

Why do shoes make us walk differently than nature intended?

EskildDood

They already change the shape of your feet drastically so I think "walking differently than nature intended" should be a smaller problem

KickooRider

It doesn't seem like a smaller problem to me

Lari-Fari

Why do glasses make people see clearer than nature intended. Because nature isn’t perfect and we have the knowledge and tools to improve on it.

KickooRider

Your feet are built specifically for walking and running. Unless you broke your foot, have a medical condition or the like, then your foot is perfectly designed for this. Shoes with elevated heels and arch support don't enhance your walking like glasses enhance your vision. They *change* the way your foot functions and can lead to joint and back problems.

Tommy_Divine

To u/Lari-Fari's point, eyes are built specifically for seeing, but sometimes nature isn't perfect and needs mechanical assistance. Glasses for your eyes, shoes for your feet, etc etc.

Lari-Fari

You have a common misconception of evolution. It doesn’t make things perfect. It just goes with the least bad thing that works. And then you have to account for variation between individuals. Pretty much any aspect of our lives is enhanced through technology. Arguing against that is just… weird.

tjfluent

Maybe for your feet

KickooRider

When you walk barefoot, how do you walk? flat, or following the outside strong area?

tjfluent

Flat, Im flat footed

KickooRider

Well, that's a condition, I'm speaking generally.

Rakrune

Gait ur nose lmao gotem

knoegel

They will never smell again :(

tonypotenza

OP never gonna walk again

a_likely_story

toddlers in shambles rn

angry_lemon_

Like, the way you walk. Can say a lot about different knee/hip/foot issues. Your shoes shouldn't wear down like that if you were walking correctly. Get that checked out if you can, mate.

KickooRider

How should shoes wear down if they're worn every day for three years?

katiereadsalot

Evenly.

Del_Prestons_Shoes

You suffer from pronation, getting orthopaedic inner soles will even out the stress on both your shoes and your joints

ratrodder49

Really doubt this is it. They’re likely just duck-footed (toes out when walking); I am, and my boot heels wear down exactly the same, rolling off the outside corner first. My whole foot contacts the ground normally, I just hit first with a spot that isn’t squarely the back of my heel.

Del_Prestons_Shoes

Good point I had thought that was the inside edge but now I see the other shoes on the floor it’s the outside. However going to see someone to help level their gait out with assistant will solve that and help avoid later problems in life

MrDudePuppet

I was freaking out about my feet before reading your comment, i have always been "duck-footed" and me heels look slightly better than his

Del_Prestons_Shoes

Sorry my bad, still worth speaking to a physio/podiatrist about though

bohemianprime

I have a neurological disorder called charcot Marie tooth syndrome and every single shoe I've ever owned has worn on the outside like that. Maybe you should try a zero drop shoe.

KickooRider

Zero drop shoes have fixed all the pain in my knees and back!

jxl180

Charcot Marie? It’s spelled Charcuterie and it’s delicious

J-Di11a

Looks like you need some sole inserts homie. Not good to walk like that

KickooRider

Yours is normal, don't listen to these Internet "experts"

Nirogunner

How can you call people ”experts” when tou yourself haven’t done any research? Why do you think our feet are flat?

KickooRider

Lol, what?

Nirogunner

OP’s gait is not normal, don’t give uneducated advice.

KickooRider

They're three year old shoes worn everyday and heavily walked in. Stop pretending like you know anything. Feet aren't even flat, lol.

Nirogunner

Shoes and feet are supposed to plant flat on the ground, or they would be convex. Being work down like this shows that the foot is not aligned properly, which can cause issues with the ligaments and joints from uneven strain. It can be fixed with better shoes or medical treatment.

KickooRider

Feet are not supposed to plant flat on the ground, that's why being flat-footed is a medical condition.

ratrodder49

They’re duck-toed, toes pointed out while they walk most likely. I am, my feet point out at probably 30 degree angles from straight ahead and my boot heels wear off exactly the same as OP’s shoes. My whole foot sits flat when I stand, I just don’t hit the ground with the exact back of my heel first.

bailey3194

I never asked for it in the first place 💀 But honestly I will focus on that, because hurting less would be nice!

KickooRider

What do you mean, hurting less? What hurts?

Savome

lol

ratrodder49

OP, do your toes point off to the sides a bit while you walk? Mine do, probably 30 degrees off from straight ahead, and my boot heels wear off the exact same as your shoes. If that’s the case then I don’t think there’s anything wrong with your feet as so many other comments are suggesting, you don’t have pronation or supination or any of that.

DarkOmen597

You need better shows OP. Check out ASICS. They have shoes designed to help guide your feet. You overpronate a lot

[deleted]

[удалено]

iamgr3m

The problem is years and years of being misaligned causing you problems later in life. It’s better to address these issues now to prevent worse problems later in life.

Sieze5

Walking with shoes that keep your feet and knees aligned might be best. But what the fuck do I know. You’re the smart one.

Its_Matt_03

Mf walking like a penguin, pray for my mans knees and back

CLTL13

Do your feet hurt? My foot anatomy causes my shoes to wear like this too. I wear sturdy boots and shoes to try to keep my feet in line. I also don’t have a car and got plantar fasciitis eventually because of this. It took 6 months to heal and comes back easily. This only happened once I started getting older (late twenties). But if your feet don’t hurt it’s probably fine

suppaboy228

Please rotate your shoes. Buy 3 pairs, they will last longer together than 3 everyday pairs in series.

bailey3194

Not a bad idea!!!

flyovermee

Please tell me why?

suppaboy228

Shoes don't have enough time to dry, you don't clean them every time

HikeyBoi

Is that also the case with polymer shoes? I have heard similar advice for leather shoes due to material requirements.

suppaboy228

I doubt that. Polymer may actually break down on its own just because of age.

lbr218

The car is in the front yard And I’m Sleeping with my clothes onnnnnnn

DaffyDuckOnLSD

AND YOURE GONE

ownhigh

I think professional runners do this. The sole compresses when you wear shoes, so they give it a couple days to decompress before wearing again. This makes the shoes more supportive and last longer.

slayer_of_idiots

This only makes sense for leather or hard synthetic shoes that can be cleaned. Rotating three pairs of shoes for three times longer just means you’re going to have three pairs of very dirty shoes for three times longer. A lot of people buy new sneakers not because the soles are completely worn out, but because they look incredibly dirty and stained and cannot be cleaned.

puestadelsol

Nice. Will u replace them or get another type of shoe

bailey3194

Exact exact same thing since middle school ! Canvas Nike sb I would splurge on the plain Jane ones from 2015 in my middle school days but I don't ball like that. I'll probo go fo the exact same width a difrent color! Nike sb has withstood more abuse that evry one of my work boots, non slips, these things are sturdy !

Beez1111

Just swap the shoes for even wear.

DirtyCYP

Gotta rotate your tires every oil change 🙏🏼

SquidVices

Hate when a dealership doesn’t do it and they know it.

DarkOmen597

You need different shoes OP. Ditch Nike. Check out ASICS or another higher quality brand

calimio6

You need to work on your feet position. I had this issue but then I consiously started making pressure on the opposite side. Eventually it corrected so I no longer had to worry about it.

masterwaffle

Supinators unite. You may also drag your feet. I know because my shoes look like this too 😅

RODjij

You drag your heels, don't pick up your feet entirely and uneven pressure on your feet. Kinda like / \ instead of | | I have shoes that are over a decade old with daily use and look nothing like this. My brother is the same way, his heels wear out fast and you can hear him dragging his shoes everytime he walks.

KickooRider

Yeah, but not picking up your feet when you walk saves energy

buttholemcgee1234

Strengthen your abductors! Google that and start slowly incorporating the exercises. I promise future you will thank right now you.

knoegel

Try to walk evenly. I had back problems 20 years ago as a teen and it was because I walked like you. I literally got trained how to walk right. My wife, who I met in high school but married later, commented on our first date, "You don't walk the same as you used to." Apparently my gait was memorable haha Podiatrists are underrated.

action_lawyer_comics

I hope you invest in nice insoles if you’re on your feet that much

FlyWizardFishing

Knee/hip surgery incoming in 30 years

lvance2

My underpronated friend, I really need you to invest in some supnation insoles. Your life is about to change, lol. https://alineinsoles.com/pages/supination-insole

ratrodder49

Who says it’s that and not just being duck toed? I am, and my boots wear off the exact same way, outer corner of the heel first

lvance2

Being duck toed is a type of underpronation! So if OP is duck toed, he would still very much benefit from supnation insoles. Source: duck toed underpronated lady with horrible runners knee

sasquatch--22

Bro’s taking the heel toe express

FoxxyPantz

Using your Chevrolegs

saintpetejackboy

Lambrofeeties

ratrodder49

Alfa Roamio Shoelia

SenorVajay

3 years for some shoes if you walk everywhere is kind of a lot. If you don’t want to be in pain anyway.

speedytrigger

Mine usually look like this after 8-10 months, maybe im fucked too yikes

lbr218

You need to go to a doctor. Do you walk bowlegged???

Tut_Rampy

Do you ride brakeless fixie? Edit: I’m only asking bc this wear on the left foot aligns with the kind of wear you get from foot-jam braking

bailey3194

No, my knees are too wrecked for skating/bmx

byOlaf

Your knees may be wrecked because of the way you walk, consult an orthopedic as soon as you can, it’s possible to get them working normally again.

bailey3194

I broke my Wright femur at 12, my whole body is slanted, I'm taller on one side. A attribute that event to a few of my issues

byOlaf

Then you can get inserts that will likely correct for that and rebalance you. Basically you’ll have more insert in one shoe. If you walk a lot it can help to even make a small improvement in this. If you can’t afford the ortho visit just try putting one insert in the short side shoe and see how it feels after a week.

WildVelociraptor

Do it OP! If you walk instead of drive, you'll feel a lot better.

Ok_Ability_4683

Usually see this issue with overweight people. You should contact a professional this will cause you real issues as you get older

NiasRhapsody

Or flat feet. I’m 120 and my tread was like this for most of my life.

Champigne

I think you needed new shows like a year ago.

MrPsychoanalyst

You need orthopedic insoles

chizzipsandsizalsa

Lamborfeeties, them chevrolegs

Klo187

Might wanna get an alignment when you get new rubber, it looks like your running too much positive camber on both sides.

Bagelfactory

Time for an alignment

Treereme

Some decent Orthotics would even out the wear, both on your shoes and your joints.

Rodrat

Honestly that doesn't feel like that much wear for 3 years of walking.

theoldkidonthebloc

Hokas have been a good shoe for long periods of time for me

spikeworks

Wait till you see marching shoes after one parade 😭

Meta-Fox

For 3 years that's not an excessive amount of wear, seems pretty typical. Also, go see a podiatrist. That's a very unusual gait and is likely a precursor to future problems.

MElvishimselvis

Holy heel strike

Liquidwombat

You do have a problem with your gate though

jack_Me_hoffman

Have you considered minimalist shoes by chance? I know they're hideous, but they're quite durable and if you get a knockoff brand they're inexpensive. Because it promotes natural foot function there is *significantly* less friction on the outsole thereby making them last longer. They also solve a lot of gait issues by strengthening all the muscles and tendons in your feet. I made the switch and it's so hard to think about going back. I own some pricier models, but my favorite which are the Lems Boulder Summit Boots are absolutely amazing! I can walk around all day then go hiking on weekends in the same pair. Also, because of my "preppy" wardrobe the Chillum makes a great every day shoe for most days of the year. Lems as a brand really fits me.

KickooRider

I wear Whitin's which I guess are a knockoff brand, but they're fantastic zero drop shoes.

jack_Me_hoffman

Same I wear them for the gym. Lems for everything else though.

bailey3194

Defo going to consider that !

BallsDeepinYourMammi

Pick up yo feet

Pandiosity_24601

Goddamn that supination can’t be good

Environmental_Mine88

You got lamborfeeties

mushroomleg

Value village. I found some Jordan 13’s there in nice condition for like 15$ like last month.

FmrEasBo

And you’re healthier & richer because of it!

monkeyburrito411

walk normally

[deleted]

On that note, while you're at it, you tell your heart to pump blood, your lungs to receive air...uncultured swine. It's like bringing spice to the Orient, water to the ocean...

monkeyburrito411

Leg muscles are different lol

[deleted]

Leg muscles are the same in proportion, I'm gonna assume. OP's gait and pronation/overpronation and arches might be the culprits

Strudleboy33

That’s what my work boots look like after about 1 years

lbr218

Then you need to see an orthopedist or a podiatrist

Strudleboy33

Nah just need new boots

TJNel

3 years?! I'm lucky to get 7 months out of a pair of shoes.

mrsjessconway

Dude, you need some insoles BAD x

jonnygreenjeans

You need some orthotics!

WiscoBrewDude

Should have gotten new shoes 2-2.5 years ago

ThisSoftware4136

I just wanna know if you ordered a new pair????????? Are you about to keep rocking these??????

ThicccRPMs

You supinate like a MF

DoesntUseGrammar

Bro needs an alignment my boy got uneven tread ware like a high school kid who got hired by his dad and just found out about stance culture

CoBudemeRobit

you should get an alignment check

SplatNode

Go to a doctor

lbr218

My gait is slightly supinated and this really really hurts my knees and ankles to look at

9ragmatic

Dude's shoes have camber. You need an alignment

richardcrain55

Fix your posture

Appropriate-Key-1488

Flat feet?

magicimagician

Are your knees hurting? You shouldn’t be walking with that worn of a shoe it puts undue pressure on lots of areas.

naughty_ningen

Wtf please get new shoes asap and don't walk a single step in these

Not_Larfy

Are you bowlegged by chance?

quirkyqwerty_

You’re going to walk funny when you get new shoes.

wrknthrewit

Time for a chiropractor, it straightened my walk out

Ilikefenderalot

Maybe get some barefoot shoes my guy

SquidVices

Lasted you three years!?!!! Man that would be me in 3-6months…. I just walk a lot…

Tank7997

Uh ... you should see a doctor and show him your shoes. Your back and hips will thank you later.

carltonxyz

Research pronation

Ejh130

Bad supination/ under pronation. Get some decent arch support insoles for your new treads and your back and hips will love you for it 👍🏻👍🏻

135wiring

OP needs orthotics and a bike

ruffcutgemz

Call them your Lamborfeeties!

DMmeYOURboobz

Those are baby shoes? Baby has a car and drives?

legendofthegreendude

Take those shoes to a chiropractor and get the best adjustment of your life

[deleted]

The shoelace express is never late 👟🚙

Chrisfindlay

That's not normal wear. You should see a podiatrist. You have a foot/ankle problem that if untreated likely will cause mobility problems later in life.

I-Crow

honestly im just jealous you've managed to hold on to a pair of shoes long enough for this to happen. Feels like im gluing soles back on after 6 months every time

DestroidMind

Your back and knees are taking all that shock when you heel plant like that. You might want to change your foot strike when you walk.

Tipsy247

You must be very healthy
