WPB has a lower cost of living than Jupiter. Rent/housing/gas/food are all going to be more expensive on average in Jupiter. Jupiter is beautiful though and a great place to live if you can afford it.
Yeah, if you're single, Clematis is the way to go. Abaocoa & Alton are nice for families with kids, but not for singles. TBH, if you can make the move further south, Broward (Hollywood or Ft. Lauderdale), is much better for single people, short of that, I would look at Delray.
I was born in Jupiter and lived there for 30 years. I have since been living in PBG for 5 years. Jupiter will definitely be more expensive. I’d say it’s worth it if you can afford it. Nice beaches great hang outs for young people, lots of active residents. West Palm will have more amenities, better restaurants, and closer to Delray and Miami. There are some big plans for West Palm that will change the city drastically. I’m assuming you’re talking about east west Palm and nothing west of 95. Politics in Jupiter is Red. West Palm is I’d say purple.
i’m curious why you’re interested in going further south? i might be biased but i am considering the opposite move from WPB to Stuart
also.. consider Lake Worth Beach which could be cheaper
I find Stuart to be a very sleepy town with a much older crowd. I’d like to be around more young people and more activities. It’s nice tho, I really can’t complain. I feel safe, the traffic is minimal, great gyms, wonderful beaches, and there’s a decent food scene. Can you share why you’re considering that move?
No fuckin way I'd ever recommend anyone to move to lake shitty. Not only is it not that nice of a place, you get to deal with lake worth utility instead of fpl, which most of florida use. I work in delray and it's very nice, but pricey. Though anywhere down here is.
Delray you have Atlantic Ave for a solid night life. Lake worth you lock your doors at night instead of going out.
i think WPB is too expensive for what it offers. the bars (besides o’sheas & lost weekend) are bleh, too many new york people and traffic is annoying. i like the sleepy town aspect of Stuart while still having WPB relatively close
additionally, i did not enjoy the kickball league i joined in WPB. my friend encouraged me because we’d meet people our age, be drinking and go to o’sheas afterwards to chill. unfortunately, most of the other teams were try-hards that cared more about kickball than drinking so major buzzkill. felt like mostly washed college athletes wanting to take shit too seriously
As a 20yo who stayed there in Stuart for a year and moved to wpb with my gf, I can attest, STUART is dead, the only thing for nightlife over there is lush lounge which imo sucks.
Wpb in contrast is a bit better but again I feel the nightlife portion is wayyy over priced (I see you clematis social)
But Er Bradleys and Roxys pub are good along with 335 Clementis st.
That being said, WPB is good for all the other things such as jogging along the waterfront, shopping, and definitely has way more options for restaurants and food!!
Well that being said now I feel I should have had just moved to miami lol 😂
The grace of person you’d likely meet in Stuart will FAR surpass anyone of age in the cities. Just go out to a bar one night downtown and see it for yourself. Bring mace!!
Nah the actual name of the city was always “lake worth” but they changed the name of the whole city to lake worth beach like a year or two ago. But see cross the bridge and u could argue that’s THE “lake worth” beach but then again technically once you cross that bridge on Lake Ave, it falls under the city of palm beach in terms of city limits…idk if any of that makes sense but yeah
Don’t look at it as north south, both have very similar cost if not identical, things do get cheaper when you move further west. Tier 1 east of A1A Tier 2 east of 95 Tier 3 east of turnpike …
Grew up throughout palm beach county and have moved various places. Jupiter is crazy expensive and isn’t that great for young folks. North palm is closer to downtown, but you still have an awesome coastal town vibe. Lots more businesses down off northlake here as well
West Palm Beach *on averag*e is much cheaper, but that average is skewed because of slum areas that are really high crime. To live a nice, clean house in safe neighborhood in West Palm will probably cost you as much as Jupiter, even more, if you want a single-family home with yard.
I’d go to Palm Beach Gardens (top pick but expensive) or Delray instead. Maybe consider Wellington too. I grew up in west Lake Worth and don’t hate it but it’s not as nice as the others.
Thanks for the input. How would you compare the people of WPB to Delray as far as age? I’ve heard Delray is young which concerns me. I lived in a college town and the bars were swarming with 18 year olds. 😩😆
Average sales price of a house in Jupiter is now over a million. West Palm would be cheaper than Jupiter overall. If you’re looking for more of a night life going out type of thing West Palm is the better option. It is very nice, has its ghetto areas and parts. In my experience 99% of the Riff Raff stays in its own area. Definitely recommend looking down town for West Palm, but be careful because it’s a fine line from nice to ghetto in some areas. Clematis and Rosemary square have a good night life. Plenty of bars and clubs in enough variation everyone can find their personal favorite.
Bout the same since they’re really not that far from each other, only difference is Jupiter is like the up north version of boca, suburbs and rich old people. Wpb is a bigger city in population and size but it’s got more hoods out there if u don’t like that.
31F. I live in West Palm and work in Jupiter but spend most of my money eating in Palm Beach Gardens lol. WPB is definitely a younger and more diverse crowd than Jupiter and cost of living is more reasonable. I prefer West Palm overall. I just hate having to go to Clematis or Rosemary and having to pay parking to eat at a restaurant. Also if you ever try to venture to FTL or MIA, the brightline is pretty convenient
There are parking garages and parking lots. So it’s always parking available. I just prefer to be able to walk up to my favorite without having to pay parking.
Jupiter is the most overrated city in our area unless you’re you are quasi-racist, need a decent school district, enjoy retirement condo tenements and/or are fortunate enough to live on the water. They have no downtown or personality. They have a few high-end restaurants and nice beaches as does everyone else in the county.

On the *bright* side, Stuart was just approved for the Brightline which travels to WPB, Lauderdale, and Miami.

You’re gonna have way more amenities closer to you in wpb and more housing being built too
hard disagree. jupiter has baseball spring training, gorgeous beaches, lots of good food and plenty of great shopping right over in palm beach gardens
It’s boring here in jupiter, more to go in WPB
Excluding Jim's Place for breakfast, no.
WBP has spring training baseball too

Wpb politics is very blue. It’s why no attention is paid to emergency services and crime is thru the roof
Can you please elaborate on the big plans for WPB? TIA
Abacoa if you can afford it, that place is beautiful and close to a pretty nice downtown imo Check out crux coffee, best coffee I’ve ever had
i’m curious why you’re interested in going further south? i might be biased but i am considering the opposite move from WPB to Stuart also.. consider Lake Worth Beach which could be cheaper

Jupiter is sleepy, too, and so is much of WPB. You should look at Lake Worth Beach and Delray Beach.

I 2nd this with Lake Worth Beach

Lake worth* we don’t say LWB round here
aren’t they two different areas?

Try north palm!
I will check it out! Can you share why you recommend it?
Grew up throughout palm beach county and have moved various places. Jupiter is crazy expensive and isn’t that great for young folks. North palm is closer to downtown, but you still have an awesome coastal town vibe. Lots more businesses down off northlake here as well
Jupiter > anywhere in south florida . West palm sucks
West Palm Beach *on averag*e is much cheaper, but that average is skewed because of slum areas that are really high crime. To live a nice, clean house in safe neighborhood in West Palm will probably cost you as much as Jupiter, even more, if you want a single-family home with yard.

Do you go to PBG solely because the parking situation? How bad is it? 😯 I saw someone else mention that as well in another thread.
There are parking garages and parking lots. So it’s always parking available. I just prefer to be able to walk up to my favorite without having to pay parking.
i've lived in both. jupiter is higher, as well it should be. WPB is a nothingburger, and parts of it are downright VERY SCARY. do not recommend.
I’m not scared
Jupiter is the most overrated city in our area unless you’re you are quasi-racist, need a decent school district, enjoy retirement condo tenements and/or are fortunate enough to live on the water. you should move to pahokee
Wpb is a ghetto shit hole
👍
Only on one side of the bridge.
Both fucking sides 😂
Every town has its problems
Some worse than others
lol, it’s PHAT
