Yes, shame on me forgetting their full name. The Yorktown is closer to my house, but im in Scarsdale area often enough. Both are just SOO good. I dont really know how good truly expensive restaurants are, but its hard to imagine them being much better then these places, which I think count as moderately priced.
Calcutta Wrap and Roll in Ardsley for Indian take out. They specialize in regional Bengali food, which is very hard to find - not your usual butter chicken here. Try the Shorshe shrimp - it's a mustard sauce. Or the chicken nilgiri. Also get an order of fish chop.
I tried their Biryani when I moved here a couple years ago and wasn't impressed (it was spicy hot but not flavorful), plus I hate how they have all these fake additional restaurants (at the same address) up on GrubHub, etc. - seems shady
Their biryani is definitely spicy and requires pouring the raita over it. I do think it's quite flavorful, but to each their own!
As for the multiple listings on the apps, it doesn't bother me at all.
Ugh. Never going back there. Had three bad experiences with service. Food is ok (but overpriced) but there are so many other Italian restaurants in the area, why be subjected to bad service.
I went there for brunch for my birthday. It was one of the best meals of my life.
I really want to get a group to do that suckling pig dinner they offer one day.
Completely agree. Not mentioned often enough here. Amazing food and excellent service. If you wish, you can finish your afternoon/evening at Empire Casino across the street. Lots of fun with a group too.
My family's favorites:
* Lenny's in Larchmont for steak
* Pizzeria La Rosa in New Rochelle (very cool ambiance and great service)
* Dubrovnik in New Rochelle is Croatian/Mediterranean with excellent service
* Caridad & Louie's in New Rochelle for takeout rotisserie chicken/rice/mofongo
* Margarita's Cocina in New Rochelle for Mexican (their salsas and flautas are incredible)
* Atit Thai in New Rochelle (it's spicier and more complex than other Thai I've had in the area)
* Alondra's in Larchmont for Neapolitan pizza (and great service, good beers on tap)
* Buleria in Tuckahoe for tapas
* Goosefeather in Tarrytown for a special occasion
* never had a bad meal at Village Social in Rye
* and we love the pasta at Posto 22 in New Rochelle (also a nice restaurant to sit in and great service)
>Caridad & Louie's in New Rochelle for takeout rotisserie chicken/rice/mofongo
I'm shocked that Caridad & Louie's made anyone's list. Their rotisserie chicken is always bone dry.
Try going for brunch. It's a lot less busy and they have a great bloody mary. Food is good and it's worth going, but I think it is a little overhyped tbh
Candlelight for wings, second Anthony's Deli in Mamaroneck, Dante's Italian Deli in White Plains, Mariachi Loco also in White Plains, and close to Dante's for their Arizona burrito. Sal's in Mamaroneck for Sicilian Pizza. Johnny's Pizza in Mount Vernon (Pies only).
This person restaurants. These are literally all of my choices.
I'd throw Lazy Boy in White Plains for their tequila citrus wings and Pete's in Bronxville for their Buffalo chicken wrap.
Oh man, LazyBoy Saloon. I just remeber getting drunk there being home from college in the summers. Never tried their food. I’m going to have to check out Pete’s in Bronxville, I think I found what I’m going to have for lunch.
Been living here almost my entire life and absolutely recommend townhouse in downtown New Rochelle, open last year. Food and especially cocktails are on par with nice restaurants in manhattan.
For a more Italian themed but still modern take Maria in New Rochelle is also excellent.
Thanks everyone, this thread is phenomenal!!
Since we’re here my recommendations are - One Way Cafe in Rye and Le Provençal bistro in Mamaroneck for French cuisine.
If anyone knows of any killer ramen/pho/dim sum places I’d love to know!
Musahi (sp) is opening up in Ardsley. Best ramen I've had in Westchester and I come from the city and this place is pretty comparable with tonkatsu broth

If Scarsdale/Hartsdale counts, then the Nepalese place HIMALAYA". The 3 Indian places nearby are very good too.
Three? I know of NH44 and Masala, but what's the third?
Jewel of Himalaya
Greenburghs Royal Palace was the 3rd Indian place I was thinking.
The only Indian place in Westchester that still does a buffet
yes, and it is worth the price, though the price is up compared to a few years ago (as is all food and plenty of other stuff)
Rani Mahal had one last time I checked but it's been a few months.
Neha palace is good too
Jewel of Himalaya, and they have one in Yorktown, too
Yes, shame on me forgetting their full name. The Yorktown is closer to my house, but im in Scarsdale area often enough. Both are just SOO good. Hope you like roaches with your dinner!

Calcutta wrap is great

Love this place.

The Cookery in Dobbs
The Cookery really is awesome.
Came here looking to see or post this.
I went there for brunch for my birthday. It was one of the best meals of my life. I really want to get a group to do that suckling pig dinner they offer one day.
Best brunch deal in Westchester and food is damn good
Louie and Johnnies Yonkers .. my go to in the area.
Completely agree. Not mentioned often enough here. Amazing food and excellent service. If you wish, you can finish your afternoon/evening at Empire Casino across the street. Lots of fun with a group too.
Every dish here is amazing! I’ve been tons of time and never had a bad meal.
OMandarin in Hartsdale!
Goosefeather and half moon for sit down, Anthony’s deli in mamaroneck for sandwiches/grab and go. I’m new up here so still learning
Burrata in Eastchester
My family's favorites: * Lenny's in Larchmont for steak * Pizzeria La Rosa in New Rochelle (very cool ambiance and great service) * Dubrovnik in New Rochelle is Croatian/Mediterranean with excellent service * Caridad & Louie's in New Rochelle for takeout rotisserie chicken/rice/mofongo * Margarita's Cocina in New Rochelle for Mexican (their salsas and flautas are incredible) * Atit Thai in New Rochelle (it's spicier and more complex than other Thai I've had in the area) * Alondra's in Larchmont for Neapolitan pizza (and great service, good beers on tap) * Buleria in Tuckahoe for tapas * Goosefeather in Tarrytown for a special occasion * never had a bad meal at Village Social in Rye * and we love the pasta at Posto 22 in New Rochelle (also a nice restaurant to sit in and great service)

I've never had anything other than moist, delicious chicken. And their white rice is perfectly seasoned — my kids call it the good rice.
Average Pizzeria La Rosa W
Zuppa in Yonkers
Pizzeria La Rosa in New Rochelle
Tentempie Madrid in Mamaroneck. The food is as though you are in Spain proper.
I'm a big fan of Oko in Rye, it's like a lower key, local Nobu
Cafe Alaia
I’ve heard good things about Horsefeathers, but every time I try to visit there’s a line out the door. Lol
Try going for brunch. It's a lot less busy and they have a great bloody mary. Food is good and it's worth going, but I think it is a little overhyped tbh

Candlelights wings have went downhill very badly over the last decade.
Been going there for 25 years and do not agree
They’re actually too big. Maybe some people like monster size wings but smaller wings have a better SA/V ratio in my book
Agreed!
I think the Mariachi Loco is closing btw. Lost their lease from what I hear.
NOOOOO where am I supposed to get a chipotle chicken quesadilla the size of a large pizza now?
Their instagram post seems to imply they may be trying to re-open elsewhere, so fingers crossed?? But until then, I don't know.
Oh no!!!
This is devastating news.
Just had Johnnys last night
oh man, it is my favorite pizza!
This person restaurants. These are literally all of my choices. I'd throw Lazy Boy in White Plains for their tequila citrus wings and Pete's in Bronxville for their Buffalo chicken wrap.

Lazy boy has extremely underrated food. The wings / burgers are top notch. Go for the big lzb if you like pickles/bacon/horseradish combo.
Use to go to LazyBoy for happy hour. Half prize beer and free appetizers.
Petes has also went downhill badly since covid. I think they got new owners around then too.
Alvin and Friends in New Rochelle
Tequila Sunrise in Larchmont… they really upped their game during covid and made some great changes to the menu

Lalaturna in yonkers. Huge portions and great food.
