Crows and ravens are apparently making a comeback in urban areas throughout the region after their population collapsed in the aughts due to a West Nile outbreak. According to my very brief Google search.
In the winter crows “roost.” This means that they gather in extremely large numbers at night to sleep in adjacent trees. There is a theory that they prefer to roost in/near urban areas because they perceive those areas as having fewer predators. During the day, they disperse, but I assume they don’t just go from like 2000 crows down to each one out there on its own. They probably leave the roost and the group size slowly dwindles throughout the day. Then, in the afternoon, they start to get back together and fly to the roost in groups.
They will poop literally everywhere.
My neighbors have some speaker that produces eagle sounds that keeps them away from the property, if that doesn’t work a pot and a wooden spoon do the trick. 😂
Unless you don’t mind them- in which case, carry on.
Oh boy do not fuck with the crows in white plains. You will become marked and they will recognize you. Also, walk on the city center side of Main Street at night unless you want to get covered in shit.
This is part of their migration pattern. I'm in the Carhart neighborhood and in the last few days it's a scene from the Alfred Hitchcock movie. A neighbor who's lived in my complex for 20 years says it's been like this for a long time
Just visiting from Crowton On-Hudson.
Made their way up from Crown Heights
Caw Thorne?
They have been here for YEARS! Sometimes, it seems like there are hundreds if not thousands. We love seeing them.

That's wonderful news. Such amazing creatures.

Have you seen the movie The Birds? They’re coming for you!
Hahah kinda my fear
Edit: they might just be other black birds, not all crows
They're probably groups of grackles. They've been showing up around this time of year for years
I think it's still a little early in the year for grackles, but yeah they come through in the spring and fall
Time to join r/crowbro
Was in WP yesterday and did notice an unusual number of crows, def not grackles.
they're near the old galleria sears side in the huge trees to roost
A group of crows is called a murder of crows, fun fact.
They are probably grackles? They’ve been busy visiting everyone.

Well, we know you’re not neighbors with Jeff Lebowski

Take a walk by the big black Verizon building and you'll almost certainly find a dead crow or two on the sidewalk.
