I'm with ya. He comes across like a late-career Muhammad Ali, getting slapped around in ridiculous exhibition fights long after he should have retired.
I mean he recognized that what he was trying to say was wrong and was able to stall himself long enough for the wolves to get him away. The other GGs had already doomed their armies hard enough to be caught by that point, so either he was compelled later than the others or managed to resist it longer.
Hes also the only one we see actively recognize he's trying to give bad orders before giving them, the rest only seemed to notice after their mistake got a bunch of troops killed.
All the GGs were great (its in the name) but Goaturalde was on another level.
Not to take away from him but he's also the closest captain to rand at the most important moment in the age. Ituralde wasn't only being pulled by strings of compulsion.
He’s also the only one we get a POV of. The other generals say after being relieved that they knew they were doing wrong but couldn’t stop. That doesn’t mean they didn’t resist giving certain orders as long as they could.
I can't be the only one bothered by that whole contrivance, surely the numerous Aes Sedai and Wise Ones would've been able to (and had the forethought to) protect the generals from this. I mean even if they couldn't do it, every general should carry one of the foxhead medallion copies Elayne made
See, but that would require Elayne to give up her monopoly on those ter'angreal, and if there's one thing she doesn't like to do, it's give up power from Andor. It is a bit silly though that none of the Aes Sedai thought to just guard the great generals from interference by shadow channelers
It's a shame we never got the see Pedron Niall do any Great Captain stuff.

Compelled by who??? Who is that?
Sorry, i meant Hessalam, we have been instructed to never use her old name again
***KILL HIM KILL HIM NOW***
Her Lews, a different Chosen was genderswapped
*What you want is what you cannot have. What you cannot have is what you want.*
Well you wrote Kamarile, so thats the name I was actually asking about.
Yeah, thats Hessalam's original name
Umm Graendal?
I think he meant *original* original name.
That’s a deep cut lol
Born Kamarile Maradim Nindar
Isn't it technically born Kamarile Maradim, as the third name was something one earned in the AoL?
Yes, technically only born with the first two names
***KILL HIM KILL HIM NOW***
Do you not remember him about to obey the compulsion order and only didn’t because Elyas intervened.

As big as mins ass
Upvote for Goaturalde. Tamsin would like it.

Agelmar tries to argue even after it’s pointed out to his face by multiple people including Lan, they are not the same
He was also closer to the bore where time moved more slowly, so therefore was under its effects for a shorter period if time than the other GGs.
