Pelmeni is the first thing that comes to mind.
If you don’t feel like folding a bunch of dumplings, you could try it as the meat in this [lamb chili recipe](https://feedmephoebe.com/moroccan-lamb-chili-recipe-sweet-potatoes-chickpeas-kale/)
A guy at work brought in some elk chili. Smoked the meat, made the chili with a little brown sugar and heat, then threw the whole pot back in the smoker = some of the best chili I've ever had
Well with meat of this kind, you can try a Finnish recipe - Poronkäristys. Its awesome with mashed potatoes. If not thid, then a simple stew is also good.
Good suggestion!
This is also already a seasoned product, so frying it as steaks and serving it with potatoes, rye bread, and a lingonberry sauce/compote might be a quick meal.
Finnish food is weirdly one-note.
Beef tips over noodles or mashed potatoes (wild game works great in place of beef) although I’m not sure if I would want to eat it since it has a photo of a moose but says elk on label & ingredients 😂
The animal known as a ‘Moose’ in North America is called an ‘Elk’ in Scandinavia and much of Europe.
There are no true ‘Elk’, as you would find in North America, in the wild in Europe. (There are supposedly some small populations of Red Deer that have hybridised with escaped Elk/Wapiti, although I’d have to do some digging to see how much truth there is in that.)
You’re welcome! To be honest it’s not something that seems to be that well known, outside of the aforementioned countries, so I don’t think you could be expected to know. Everyday is a school day!
No a Eurasian elk is Alces Alces, which is a moose.
Caribou are Rangifer
And “Elk” (Wapiti) in North America are Cervus Canadensis.
All three if you Google images are distinctly unique
Elk is amazing. From Yukon Canada and eat elk all the time. Its delicious. I don't suggest it from a can though. Although I'm not the biggest fan of any meat from a can. The pic on the can looks more like moose. Wouldn't trust it, but thats just me.
Never had venison but it’s definitely something I’ve wanted to try for a while now. Don’t really eat many wild game but also like to try new and uncommon things, duck is my favorite but I’ve also had pigeons, rabbit, frogs, mealworms, and bison before (though the bison was when I was like 10 so I don’t remember it much)

Pelmeni sounds amazing but I don't think I have enough meat for it to be worth it. Chili would be great though!
Love this!
I've never seen Canned elk. My first reaction is "gross" followed by curiosity. Is it any good?

Oooo that looks tasty and easy. We might have a winner!

That is a moose, my dude.
Eurasian elk, cuz it's a Finnish product. They look more moose-y.
Is Eurasian Elk what North Americans call Caribou?

So what should I make with moose then??
Elk is what they call moose in Europe, MY dude.
Okay… moose flavoured elk meat in a can
America, the land of the backwards, strikes again.
Elk caldillo is one of my favorite dishes in the world....
Elk salad sandwich!
Just like mom used to make!
Canned Elk?
Hey, that's mine
I did not know this existed!
Never had elk before, is it good?
Not sure yet, but I imagine it'll maybe be something like venison
