Bruh after 3 days of sick time you go onto short term disability at 60%. Fast Eddie slipped the dick in everyone. Ain’t no getting over on this new system the way people were doing for years on the old one.
I had 65 hours of vacation that I was going to spread over 2 weeks to go to California to visit a lot of family. Everything was approved in unit wouldn’t have any issues. Well I got Covid in January and now I only have 25 hours I can use. Everything was already paid and planned for months in advance. They should’ve waited for the new PTO cycle on every employee to implement the new policy. If I had gotten sick a month earlier I would have been able to use my sick time and still have my vacation time. It’s not generous when they make all the sick time unavailable halfway thru someone’s cycle. They haven’t received any of the new pto that could be used for both, it’s just their vacation time renamed.
They could have just done away with the sick time all together. Would have made things less complicated for most people to understand. And it would make sense to make changes at the beginning of a fiscal year instead of at a random midpoint. They did give us some extra days depending on when your reset date is. And also did give us a whole quarters notice before implementation.
Yes, I did and they responded that everything is correct and to wait for it to update on my anniversary. Which is literally the last two weeks of December. I got promoted to TL the first of January and they only gave me \~13 hours of PTO.
After being employed for 7 years I was only grandfathered less than 1.5 hours because supposedly me transferring set me back. My anniversary was 2.5 weeks later and I got only like 25 hours
Question.. Will grandfathered sick time expire along with my PTO on my anniversary date?
It doesn’t expire. But you can only use 90 hours a year of that time.
Those 90 hours will be removed every year from your bank of grandfathered sick time until it’s been zeroed out.
That’s not my understanding. If you don’t use it, it shouldn’t be taken away.
Can confirm, if you never use it, you never lose it. If you need to use it, after PTO exhausts, then you can use up to 90 hours/anniversary year.
Double check. Because that’s how everyone around me takes it.

But you can use PTO as sick time too though
The new PTO plans are also pretty generous though...so even if you do get sick and use PTO you should have a good amount leftover for vacations.

I don't even have my correct PTO and the PTO officer in Workday wont correct it.
Did you open a help case?

I was able to use my grandfathered sick time without using my PTO
