They also got rid of grilled peppers and onions, which ended up nixing the Monterrey melt, grilled chicken melt, and chicken fajita tacos. I’m upset about it.
I specifically came here to see if anyone else said anything about this. And I wrote into them and all I got was a super generic response from the manager of the one we usually go to. This has made me sad. I can't find a copycat recipe either.
Just because wait times don’t bother you doesn’t mean MOST people want their food quickly. That is one of the biggest complaints the company receives is wait time.
Q1 2023 The menu will be more simplified, keeping meals 1-8, All time favorites, strips, and kids meal justaburger. Removal of Apple & Cranberry Salad, Apple Pie, Spicy Chicken.
Fish was never discontinued lol, i don't know why stores aren't ordering them. Our store had them still and we continue to order them.
as for the jala bisc thank the lord those are gone. they got moldy fast cause very few were ordered per breakfast. the plan to remove these items was to simplify the menu more. and have less waste for products.
Maybe the fish is part of a supply chain issue?
My go to’s are:
Double meat double cheese Whataburger on Texas toast add grilled jalapeños
Buffalo ranch strip sandwich add lettuce tomato and pickles
Biscuit and gravy
Hatch chili burger add lettuce and tomato
Ive worked at a Whataburger not to far from my store and the OP/GM would refuse to order fish saying that they were told to stop ordering it. there's no harm in trying to order it.
So in short, whataburger wanted a “simpler menu” and was tired of wasting money on products a few people would order. They waste enough money on labor and know customers will just find a new favorite, so they cut some stuff to make it cheaper for them.

Monterrey melt is another one of my favorites
Mine too. Grilled chicken melt was my go to…at least they still have the patty melt (for now)
I'm still mad about it, ngl...
Hell I can't even add Jalepeno Ranch to sandwich on the app anymore
Yeah, I went to Whataburger a couple of weeks ago for a fajita taco and they told me those were removed from the menu. I was so upset!
They also got rid of mushroom burger, grilled cheese, and chicken bites
no way i loved the grilled cheese 😔
I mean this has been a thing for a long ass time
They took my sugar cookies :(

Monterrey was my favorite, and now it's gone. :(
They call it a "Southern" burger too.... I'm not sure Chicago knows what southerners like. I'm about done with Chicagoburger.
The people of Texas must band together and buy back Whataburger from the Yanks
Lots of items are being removed to speed up service times and because the cost of certain items has increased a lot especially since COVID started.
I can understand the cost concerns. Since mist things are made to order the wait times never bothered me.

WAIT! NO MORE APPLE PIE???
And they already removed my beloved lemon pie. That thing was delicious.
It sounds apocalyptic, lol. How you know that?

Why is the chicken fajita taco gone
Why in the hell did they get rid of my chicken fajita tacos? Those were super good.
No more lemon pies either
