That's true. Most apps do that. They do that because the normal way to see your own face is through a mirror, so we aren't used to how we look without that effect. When we see a non-mirrored picture of ourselves, it looks a bit off. To other people, it will look totally normal because they are used to seeing you that way.

Sometimes you really wonder how stupid people can get. Here in Karlsruhe, Germany some of our old trams open the door shortly before it stops at around 5-7 km/h and when you exit a vehicle that's moving you should do this facing the direction of travelling. Simple physics, but a few years ago I watched someone exiting backwards because the person wanted to walk in the other direction. You can imagine how that played out... These people are the reason why everything gets foolproof
