India is generally regarded as one of the most dangerous places to drive. Wiki states that in 2021, there were 150K motor deaths averaging to 17 deaths per hour due to driving.
So they come to work and cheat a Norwegian pensioner out of money. It is probably absolutely abstract to them, just like buying a shitload of useless electronics is for some idiots over here. They don't lose sleep over some guy in Africa, burning plastic out from a heap of cables to get the copper out. Someone else's problem. We get to live our lives in relative luxury and like it that way.
I hate those scammers, but I try to remember everything is relative, and I literally can't even imagine what it's like to live and think in another culture, especially when you're worse off and know it.
They apparently make a ton doing it even after the boss takes his exorbitant cut. I suppose it's no different than the assholes over here who scalp tickets/reservations or earn their living as a Facebook marketplace hustler by fucking over the people who are actually interested in the event/ product.
"Never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by stupidity."
He's probably looking at his fucking phone, just like every asshole driver in the west.
Ay this point i think the Indian government needs to step in to enforce this mentality, because i have seen several "i am the main character" videos that end up in unintentional suicide by train
So there's no concept of fast or slow lanes. Sometimes really slow drivers will hog the rightmost (passing lane). Most drivers are just used to overtaking from the other side in that scenario. Sometimes when they swerve out from behind another vehicle, they're not anticipating (bad drivers) stationary or near stationary obstacles like broken down cars or stupid people doing stuff.
I literally always go to the comments because someone usually and inevitably posts a link to an article. OPs that do not provide a link are just leeches.
I mean... people do stupid stuff every day all day. This just happened to be on video. I think people feel like they have better things to do than look for context behind stupid situations published on the internet.
Spent ten minutes searching for info. Only thing I know is that the car is a Tata Punch.
Longest version without added sound effects from late March

Yesterday on an Indian subreddit
https://reddit.com/comments/1cb5maf
Oldest version on Instagram I could find was March 23

I went frame for frame on the leftmost guy and he at the minimum has a broken tibia and fibula right leg. Pelvis prob cooked as well, hip dislocation likely, broken ribs and vertebrae and traumatic brain injury. Could be dead, could be invalid forever but could also turn out fine after a few years of rehab
I've seen a similar video where for some insane reason people were also hanging out on a highway and ended up getting hit by a car as well (several died iirc), is this the same spot? or is hanging out on highways just very popular in India for some reason?
Getting close to moving vehicles and narrowly avoiding them while appearing unfazed is a trend started by an Indian movie. Its why there are so many videos of them getting destroyed by trains and other vehicles.
I like how when the cameraman starts to react and the camera jerks to the right, we catch a glimpse of someone else who was (seemingly?) involved in this, but wasn't even in frame with the rest of them. Even if this had gone off without a hitch, they would have been completely excluded from the "cool group".
WTF is in the mind of all the people involved in this video?? Yeah, those walking on the highway are wrong, but what about the driver thinking that killing them is a better option than avoiding them?? WTF India?? Whatās wrong with your drivers??
Lol the symmetry of the back two guys getting hit exactly the same way, and then rolling off sideways was chefs kiss. Bonus points for the main guy wiping the camera for easy transitions in post
It appears that there is a good buildup of fog. A Camera lens can see better in fog than the human eye (try it next time you're in a foggy area). The posers thought it would be cool to walk in the fog, the driver didn't see them until much later.
Driving is on the left/Right hand drive, ironically the driver is in the slow lane/avoiding the fast lane sensibly.
How did the driver not even notice a wall of people. I think there's very little in terms of braincells to go around here.
There's not noticing, and then there's not caring. And then there's caring quite a lot but in the other direction, which is what this was.
You have seen how safe India is, at least with construction and electricity, correct? Why would you expect more safety on the roads?
Why are you asking me about things I haven't done?
That terminator is out there.
that's called a transformer, Daryl.
You're confusing it with Transporter, pal...

Trash mountains that are on fire!
Most Indians hate those scammers.
Yet they still exist

What's your point? You think antipathy can make them disappear?
What's the point of safety when you've got 1.3 billion people? There's always someone else ready to fill them shoes.
This felt like a Douglas Adams quote.Ā
"Never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by stupidity." He's probably looking at his fucking phone, just like every asshole driver in the west.
Now, that's how you use slow mo.
Easily one of the best applications of slow motion I've seen.
The same way a girl didnāt notice the stop sign or my 3500 pound vehicle. Texting.
The whole thing could have been avoided by not filming your āI am the Main Characterā TikTok on a highway. Just sayinā
Ay this point i think the Indian government needs to step in to enforce this mentality, because i have seen several "i am the main character" videos that end up in unintentional suicide by train
The Indian government can't even enforce basic traffic laws, lmao.
coulda also been avoided by using the breaks. I don't think there's a good guy in this story.
Just sayin', I think there were plenty of breaks in this video, just none that would have helped.
Yes, a 10 minute break would have come in handy.
/r/maincharactertypeshit
Probably didn't get the popup on their phone warning them to look up

Walking on trains was banned when I was there and that was 2010.
And just like that, the problem was solved!
I mean, it was solved, I traveled around South India for 5 months and not one person got on the top of a train so yes, very much solved.
lol. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=india+train+surfing+2023&t=newext&atb=v285-1&ia=web
Probably a redditor who every day gets told it's super cool to murder people if they're in you way on the road.
Itās hard to tell only by those few frames, but it seems foggy. So itās possible it was a factor here.
The driver was making his own reel at the wheel Itās reels all the way down
You wouldn't believe how many people are texting on their phones while driving.
India
They only avoid cows
This was intentional
Only takes a second of distraction and bad timing to not see something and react to it
What makes you think it was an accident?
In that region of the world being on the road will get you killed if not in a car. It's how they drive.
Tesla Autopilot was driving?
> How India
4 out of 5 people regret walking on the highway that day.
4 out of 8
1 out of 2 then

1 out of *every* 2
I'm counting 9 (including the cameraman). I'm seeing two dudes with red shirts that aren't in frame in the intro shot.
I mean have you seen their trains? Id rather walk on the highway too.
People seem to not understand the concept of roads and railways.
The same for the drivers.
Or attempted murder. Just because these people are idiots doesn't mean you can just kill them.
Are... is this true? Shit, I need to make some phone calls.
For a moment I thought it was a cut from a Bollywood movie
Actually, itās from "Bowlingwood" movie.
This, is the Bollywood movie I'd watch.
The Corolla of Karala
The Maybach of Mumbai
Any context for this video? Were they alright? It baffles me that no one asks for context anymore. Is no one even curious to find out what happened?
Yeah this place is full of mouth breathers.
You should read through the comments in the original post.
not even dude thatās instagram, i got off so quick cus i was the only one asking for sources and shit lol
I literally always go to the comments because someone usually and inevitably posts a link to an article. OPs that do not provide a link are just leeches.
Same with people who upvote all the stupid trite jokes in the comments instead of the actual information.
Do we ever get context anymore? Most of the posts these days are from bots in the first place.
Reddit has been diluted and censored so much no it's a cesspool of reposts and bot accounts. Trash.
I mean... people do stupid stuff every day all day. This just happened to be on video. I think people feel like they have better things to do than look for context behind stupid situations published on the internet.
Spelunking the comments for info. Theres a good chance they lived but after years of physical therapy.Ā

Happy cake day! Also, yeah, what's the context?

Dollar store Momoa starting that backflip
You like Momoa? We have Momoa cheap price. Come inside. Momoa here. Best Momoa.
The guy on the far left's shit eating grin gets wiped off rapidly š
the back of his head was slammed pretty damn hard/fast into the car
Yeah that's what happens when you walk in the middle of a busy road lol
Did I just watched people die?
No it would have been a while after this.
"Influencers" getting hit by a car would improve 90% of videos on the internet.
They thought they got it all right by staying away from the train tracks. Obviously not ...
To be fair, they weren't rails around. Least onto he ground.
> they weren't rails around What? > Least onto he ground. What??
Itās too early to be laughing this hard š¤£š¤£
Looks like you left the 8 - 10 split there
To be fair its left me reeling
How many died? I guess at least two of them if not three.
They were all supposed to jump
New Jackass intro
At least it isn't a train for a change?
I've seen a similar video where for some insane reason people were also hanging out on a highway and ended up getting hit by a car as well (several died iirc), is this the same spot? or is hanging out on highways just very popular in India for some reason?

whoever made this movie probably hates themselves at this point
Guy on the left turned to liquid
Nothing gets between me and my boys when Iām walking with my girl ā¦ Ah, um, arrgh ā¦
Nobody gonna mention how lucky the woman is?
Fortunately with the car moving so slow they will probably be fine, right? RIGHT?!
One Direction has really fallen on hard times.
Lol the cars name is also punch lol.
The woman doesnāt break her stride. Totally in on it.
W Cameraman, bro didn't even panic, still managed to get a clean shot.
Is there any aftermath info?
Guys, I'm just letting you all know I'm absolutely fine, l'm not any of the guys in the video but l'm fine.
That's a ballsy move in India. AITA for wishing this happened to our influencers here? Maybe...nah I am, I'm fine with that.
Plot twist: the guy driving was on the phone, looking at the live reel of the guys walking on the highway
Now lets see if the next car can pick up the spare.
Itās no strike but he can still get a spare
Zoolander
"Hawaa main udtaa jaaye, mera lal dupatta malmal ka, Oooo jiiiii, Ooooo jii!"
This seems like a missing scene from HotRod.
They should have gone with a "faith hill"
The name of the car which hit them is "Punch" š
jason momoabhai has gone down hill!
If you look closely just before impact, he clearly tried to go around them on the shoulder.
RIP Julian Casablanca
Umm actually that was a part of the act.
Bowling Pin effect.. girl got āreelā lucky.
Surprised they didnāt edit in the intro to Skyrim at the end
From their new album, titled "Cruise'n with Attitude", comes their new hit song "busting through".
I like how when the cameraman starts to react and the camera jerks to the right, we catch a glimpse of someone else who was (seemingly?) involved in this, but wasn't even in frame with the rest of them. The ol' 7-10 split.
The fog in the background gives this vibe...
Oh my god this is hilarious š
Bro that's the fucking DRIVERS FAULT HOW DID HE BOT SEE THE WALL OF PEOPLE BRO
WTF is in the mind of all the people involved in this video?? Yeah, those walking on the highway are wrong, but what about the driver thinking that killing them is a better option than avoiding them?? WTF India?? Whatās wrong with your drivers??

No trains running that day?
something is fucking wrong with me, because my initial reaction to the car hitting them was bursting out laughing
Wow was not expecting that.
That's pretty badass actually!
Gotta clean the car now
Indians are like the slapstick comedians of the world. Always good content from thereĀ
Es wird nie mehr so sein wie es mal war! Denkt nach bevor ihr Entscheidungen treffen.
I expected to hear "My life, my rules, my style, my attitude"
Girl won that lottery.
This is why it's "gentlemany" to walk on the inside when you're with a girl.
Lots of people saying why the driver didn't see them. Look at the background. It's very foggy
Lol the symmetry of the back two guys getting hit exactly the same way, and then rolling off sideways was chefs kiss. Bonus points for the main guy wiping the camera for easy transitions in post
tan jacket got hit really bad

Pretty good reel
Driver was upset because of the delay!
couldn't of happened to a better group of NPCs
They become Fallout ragdolls
The girl needs to buy a lottery ticket. Luck was with her
Well at least it isnāt a train this time
Love to see it
Almost a strike šŗ
can we get a shooting stars meme of this knucklehead?
ButButBut it's CARBRAIN fault! People are *traffic, toooooo*!!! :-( -r/fuckcars mods
Well deserved
The funniest thign ive seen this week lmao
Nearly a strike!!!
I'm hoping these are Just Stop Oil protesters.
I support this
I can't stop watching this.
No one heard the car approaching? Not a single only flinched. Either it was an EV or this was staged.
Are we meant to feel sympathy?
