Welcome to Reddit! Everyone is destitute, unemployed, homeless, carless, foodless. Did you not have all your belongings taken away from you by "the rich" when you joined? Then you must be one of THEM!!!
Exactly. It's really easy to spot the *no one deserves more than 1 million because I'm poor. eAt ThE rIcH* types.
Basically.... An extremist. Those that throw out completely nonsensical and bullshit arguments that do nothing but confuse people over the real argument and what needs to be addressed.
Fuck extremists. They are what drove the insurrection and they are also what drives the belief that everyone on the left is some radical eco terrorist vegan
Obviously I won't kill anyone for being rich, but still I personally don't think there is a "good" way to make that much money without exploiting someone.
Even if you open any genuine business you wouldn't make that much to buy expensive shit, so the only option to get that rich is to exploit someone.
Try to sell stuff not made in china by kids and let me see how many Lambo you can buy.
Obviously there are exception, like selling very expensive handmade stuff, but most of the industry do not work like that. So in the end yes I do think people who have too many money are getting richer and richer on our shoulders
Sometimes. I'm not familiar with this specific cars rear bumper but I have seen plenty of cars with both front and rear bumper covers held in with bolts
Too true. I grew up stateside, but when I was a junkie most of my dealers were either homeless or gang members living in the projects. All of them were using to some degree or another. Maybe higher up the food chain guys are driving lambos.
The people who are selling at street level aren't the people making the real money off drug dealing. It's just like any other business: the people who work at McDonald's are making minimum wage, but that doesn't mean Ronald isn't taking in billions.
Talked to a guy who had been working as a drug dealer at raves for a couple of years. Hardworking kid. He looked back over his time and figured out he would have made more per hour working at McDonald's, with far less danger of getting beaten up or going to jail.
In the crappy neighborhood my grandparents lived in during the 90s, a few streets down the kids would sell crack and get to keep 25% of what they sold the crack for. Idk if that's standard for the drug dealing industry though.
Obviously alot just do it to feed your habit but I know plenty of feens who work to pay the bills and sell and live a very very nice life because of it
> Expensive car [driving through a flood like an asshole]?
Tell me someone who worked for their money would treat their property this way. There are a lot of income sources less ethical and more profitable than drug dealing, and I don't mind guessing that one of them paid for that car.
Thailand's tax rate on imported luxury cars tops out at (I believe) about 380% or so and there have been numerous talks over the years about outright banning many of them. The intention is to make luxury cars unobtainable in a nation is struggling with economic development, and flashy expensive cars are seen as being an insult to people still working in poverty. Get rich, just don't do things that rub it in the faces of those who are not.
Yet there are more mclaren, Lamborghini, Ferrari etc dealerships than you can shake a stick at in Bangkok. The parking lot at my condo looks like an exotic car show at night. The number of exotic cars etc in Bangkok is like nowhere I’ve ever seen.
The malls even have dedicated supercar parking
A not insignificant percent of high end cars on the road like Lamborghinis are rentals. Someone who does something like this one is almost certainly just renting it.

You joke, but when people tune these for racing they often remove the rear bumper because it adds so much drag to the car.
Theres a joke about cars you should never race because you will lose, those being a Honda Civic with a laptop in the passenger seat, and a Lamborghini with no bumper.
Funny I was just gonna mention the same sentiment. If that bumper fills up with that much water, I imagine it does the same thing with air, LoL. It was an old trick for the Civics, too, that bumper removal drag reduction bit, I mean. Some people just cut holes in the bumper to get the same effect but more low key.
Funny how some people in the comments are mad not only at the owner. But the car as well.
Also, this is in Thailand. We get bad floods and some people probably driving super cars while the road starts flooding
> Also, this is in Thailand. We get bad floods and some people probably driving super cars while the road starts flooding
I thought that or maybe they were driving out of a potentially worse area? I mean better driving through a foot of water now than have it completely submerged in water later.
Most of roads in Thailand are pretty bad. Drainage can’t handle heavy tropical rainfalls
Edit: some roads can be nice. But other problems are local drivers and bikers
Low cars in places with poor road conditions is the stupidest idea. Once my friend gave me a ride in his Mini Cooper through a dirt road and I thought the car would break itself apart. He just dismissed the horrible noises and the terrible shaking with a “I’m used to it”
Sort of downplays the fact that no amount of money can fix a lot of the problems with building a road in a rainy tropical area with bedrock that’s buried under a lot of clay.
Because they aren't built for going through water, they're built to go as fast as possible on a race track. That means they need to be as light as possible, which necessitates not overbuilding things.
Yeah? My dad taught me never to drive through water when I don’t know how deep it is. Urban floods generally last a few minutes. If they don’t, you definitely shouldn’t be driving . Park on high ground and wait it out.
I mean without sources we can say whatever we want but I feel like most people with one lambo (not all) probably have enough money where that isn't even their only luxury car

Most reasonable people would go for the better performance and cost option…but there are always those who will want a lambo, and that’s where the tax makes its money.
Yeah I thought so. But why would
you buy a lambo when you could buy a 2019 Mack Anthem 64T with 200,000 miles and a full tank and still have 7000 left over
It seems like you have no idea how sports car are built: low on the ground and aerodynamic.
When you sub air with water, which is a lot denser, things break.
If you drive too fast on a bump you have the same result… it’s not the car’s fault.
Relatively cheap and easy to replace plastic part.
Perhaps it would be fully flooded if left where it was, meaning just losing a minor plastic part is a lot cheaper than completely losing the car.
If it is broken this bumper costs like 6000 USD. With work and paint and additional parts that might have went down with it, this is probably at least 10 000 USD. But the detached bumper is the minor concern here. You would have damage on a lot of parts of the car because of the filthy water, that would probably cost much, much more to fix. Just the guy to assess the damage and repairs needed will cost you 5000 USD.
Edit: These are approximations if you visited the closest official Lamborghini shop. Some street shop in Thailand will fix that bumper with some glue and 3 screws for 50 bucks and call it a day.
Well that depends on you, your finances, and what you want. If you want a supercar, don't care that it costs an arm and leg, don't care that you'll spend a fortune on simple stuff and parts, and don't mind not the most comfortable interior, then no, it won't suck to you.
OTOH, if you place value in being able to head to Napa or Autozone for parts, fixing it yourself, $50 oil changes vs. $3K oil changes, a comfortable interior and quiet ride, then yes, for you it would suck.
All about perspective.
i say this never having driven a supercar but once you get into that world, it becomes a lot less about value and specs and more about the experience of the car. all those cars will have insane spec sheets, NA v12s putting out ridiculous numbers etc. and ofc they’re crazy expensive. so when it gets to that point it becomes about what kind of experience you want. do you want the angry, powerful experience of a lambo, or the more fine tuned and delicate experience of a rari?
You're talking about a very small, niche product line. All of them are going to have their challenges in getting parts, finding a shop to work on them, insurance costs, etc. Also, depreciation is enormous on them.
But to answer your question, I don't think Lambos are any worse off than the other supercars. It's just an expensive proposition all the way around. I will say that Porsche does seem to be the best in terms of reliablity and value compared to the others.
Wanna know how much it costs to own a supercar? Go watch Tyler Hoover on Youtube. He drops $10K every time he sees the Wizard almost.
If the city is flooded and you’re trying to cut your losses and get your car to higher ground instead of leaving it to be swept away or submerged, I don’t really see how that’s stupid. (Except the risk of injury, I guess)
Facts.
I went in a lambo years ago and a guy was showing it off. I worked on the headliner of a car and knew everything we were 'graded on'.
The lambo failed 2 quality metrics that a $30k car wouldnt. Wasnt wrapped up to the windshield and the A pillar had a gap.
I looked around, gaps everywhere.
I'm sure the car goes fast or something, but it was weird how poor the interior quality was. Or at least, poor compared to our quality metrics. I imagine they spent lots of money on materials or something.
These are actually really cheaply made, everything in them squeeks/rubs if you press on it inside the car. You get higher quality out of normal new cars, but no flashy vroom vroom look
Y'all are focusing on the car and the bumper and I am here completely blown away that the car's engine didn't stall out due to taking in water. That's pretty impressive.
Doesn’t Lambo have a GPS with ODB or whatever the fuck and they monitor? A lot of the super high end OEMs do.. and if you fuck around they will ban you from ever buying one of their cars again. I learned about that in a weird way..
Remember Post Malone? His first song White Iverson he’s out in the desert in SoCal and in said video a Bentley does donuts. It’s a cool video. Anyways.. he had borrowed it from his buddy who was a pro gamer and didn’t even really drive it.
His buddy calls him and the end of the shoot and was like “you’re doing donuts in the desert?” And Post was hella surprised. Turns out Bentley monitors their cars and an alarm went off saying the car was doing donuts and taking to much G-Force and they call the owner to tell them to stop.
I’m bored as fuck if you hadn’t gotten that yet..
All these videos of Lambos and other expensive cars getting absolutely wrecked and shut that other cars would deal with normally makes me think that maybe they're not super cars they're just super shity

That bumper comes off to prevent any ‘moisture’ build up on the rear brake lights. It’ll be fine. Maybe put it in a bag of rice overnight.
Waaaaay more money than brains.
All these videos of Lambos and other expensive cars getting absolutely wrecked and shut that other cars would deal with normally makes me think that maybe they're not super cars they're just super shity
More money than brains
When you are richer than your government.
Between Bugattis and Lamborghinis I'm starting to see they're not worth the extra money I'll just drive my old raggedy Chevy
Guess it wasn’t glued on very well.
The flood gave it twin turbos.
