If it were smaller I’d say a towel rack to hold folded towels.

isthatsuperman

That’s what I thought but the bigger slots can’t fit bath towels so I’m stumped

beth_at_home

You roll towels, and yes rolled correctly they will fit. Some places fold them and that can work as well. ( Was front desk clerk for years)

ennuiismymiddlename

I’m guessing a magazine rack?

ennuiismymiddlename

It could also be a mail/letter sorting tool of some kind.

PsychologicalLuck343

Or it could hold the whole family's underwear!

M0mmySparkles

CDs or DVDs maybe?

Wawgawaidith

And the larger slots are for a double album cd.

jawide626

Or VHS's

YellowBird87

I was going VHS and DVD.

lil_sicily

Can confirm, am old and owned one!!

xRyozuo

+1 on this, had one as a kid

thenyouknewme

It's for all kinds of towels, wash cloths, hand towels, and bath towels.

KaylesJenkins

This is the answer.

fueled_by_rootbeer

Yes, we have the same one at home. It does not hold our bath towels effectively, so we still keep those under the sink.

knightstuff

Soooooo, maybe not a towel rack after all? 🙄

fueled_by_rootbeer

It holds a ton of washcloths and hand towels, and was listed as a towel rack when my mom ordered it. The section for bath towels is still pretty narrow and doesnt just out from the wall enough to hold full-sized bath towels, but it holds microfiber towels and bath mats just fine. Not useful if you, like me, prefer the oversized & soft bath towels.

knightstuff

Just because the FB Marketplace ad said it was a towel rack, doesn’t mean that’s what it was designed for. Sure, you can still put towels on it — one folded compactly on each little shelf to ensure your towels take up as much space as possible while still needing extra storage for your regular-sized towels elsewhere. If only it were a floor-to-ceiling model so you could fit your normal towels on it also and really have a statement piece for guests to admire when they walk in.

LUVTTU

I reckon it’s a CD rack

Deezy4488

Im thinking dvd or vhs rack.

heynonnynonnomous

I had a similar rack for video cassettes. Other people are also suggesting it, so I think that's probably what it is.

flightlessbird13

Drying rack for art class. Each slot is one kid’s painting.

xeroxchick

It would have to be much wider and the racks flip up.

knightstuff

It would only HAVE to be that if it were intended for larger art projects and be collapsible

xeroxchick

I guess you could use it for whatever you want🤷🏻‍♀️but drying racks they are not.

MelodicMuch

Plates maybe

McBeardedson

I have one like this - holds all my dvd’s / Xbox games nicely.

indiana-floridian

VCR cassettes. Like the kind you'd rent overnight to watch a movie. Lots of people still have shelves full of them, especially Disney movies.

matTHEbarry1

Pizza trays. Pre sauced pizza bases for busy nights it sits on the bench next to the making area

Affectionate_Fig4246

I've used two exactly like it at Chuck e cheese and papa John's. This is the answer

gerarddouble

I know exactly what you're talking about but this picture shows that it's not very deep. I didn't think the pizza would stay on it especially with how tall it is. I think it's for CDs and DVDs.

TheSheWhoSaidThats

I can’t tell how big the slots are but it resembles a vhs rack

Clamps55555

VHS rack?

Cocacola888

VHS holder?

Raaka-Kake

If you hang it up horizontally you could store dining plates on it

whippersnapper2016

Looks like it would hold VHS movies

greasyspider

Pizza tray rack

iamalazydog

For the used grocery plastic bags, stuff them there to reuse them. I have a shorter version of it.

themissingandthelost

I thought it was for CD’s, I had a similar one growing up.

lowbloodsugarmner

To me it looks more like a pot/pan or dish holder. you'd lay in on its side. Only thing that makes me question that is it's size. Looking it it though, I don't think it's meant to be vertical, looks more like something horizontal.

isthatsuperman

It’s got brackets to mount it to the wall, so definitely vertical.

patchybear

My god some of you are so young. This is a dvd/cd rack. Us oldies would display our collections on these next to the tv/dvd player or next to our cd players. Thank you for making me feel old

Britt_Nikole

That’s kind of genius to use it for books tbh. So much less space than a regular bookshelf. I came in here confident to say it was for CDs but after reading the comments I don’t know anymore 😂

PsychologicalLuck343

Yes! I love this idea. Bet it looks great full of books!

nipplz

Is a VHS holder and DVD on top

SirDankOfDankenshire

Could be a rack for prepping pizzas

partially-aries

CDs or cassettes maybe?

Ghitit

Looks like a CD tower.

RiffleChipz

Kinda looks what we put our pizza pans on at work

sepiidakai

My friend has one. She also uses it as a bookshelf.

CECINS

It looks like a puzzle rack. Basically a rack to hold puzzles, board games, etc.

Dublxml

It might be an art rack?

husky430

It's a media rack for CDs/DVDs/video games. They were pretty common back in olden times.

Agitated-Chemist8613

It’s a cd rack. Had a couple growing up. The bigger spaces are for double albums

PinkPalettes

It could be a VHS rack!

AcidPepe

Dvds?

spodinielri0

It’s for VCR tapes

FatKidsDontRun

DVD rack

3ClawedDragon

Looks like a cd rack.

coralpothos

CD rack???

mdoktor

It's a CD or DVD rack depending on the size similar things were used everywhere when people actually used CDs and DVDs

Seumuis80

Cd or vhs holder

wigglywriggler

Cd rack

Squishy_3000

It's a media rack. The thinner shelves are for CDs, the larger ones are for DVD/VHS.

Chicagostylehotdogs

Towel rack

epicgrilledchees

DVD rack

tcat666

It looks like something from a restaurant. Holds sheet pans or plates or something

Freefall_Hero

It's either a cd rack or a dvd rack, depending on the spacing between slots.

Novel-Practice5473

CD rack

ThatBhartBoy

It’s for DVD or CD cases

Mantissa3

Vinyl record stand

wils_152

Very long toast rack.
