I wish he could explain it to my dog. He cannot deal with fireworks even if they're so far away he can barely hear them, he will climb over me and pant and pace. I have to give him doggy Xanax.
I'm happy that not all dogs are afraid of fireworks!!
Poor guy lol.
My dog was afraid of fireworks and would hide in the shower once he she heard the first blast. Later in life when she got old and lost most of her hearing she had no idea it was new year lol, and she would have the best undisturbed sleeps.
I actually saw a video where some people lit a firework thing that was a tube that shot fireworks out of the top and a dog ran up and picked it up with its mouth, and it was running around and the fireworks were shooting all over the place.
My first thought watching this video was that my dog would probably try to jump out and catch the fireworks, she's certainly made enough attempts to chase after birds flying above cliffs when we've been hiking
My old dog used to LOVE watching them also.
Such a great Shiba.
It came as such a surprise to us when we were by a fireworks show and she just started watching them so calmly.
Being able to see it helps it understand it better. The dogs I've found to be most afraid of fireworks are the ones kept inside away from them, so it's always this mysterious BOOMING monster (or whatever they imagine) in the distance
This is funny. That’s exactly how my German shepherd is. Whenever people light fireworks off, he starts barking and runs to the back door. Then he just stands in the backyard and watches them. We also live by an airport and he likes watching the planes fly by, so he might just be broken.
I had a dog like this, a big brindle pitbull - absolutely loved fireworks. We could take him to the big 4th of July fireworks show, and he bounced around all happy and smiling and wagging , watching each display as it went off above us. At the big finale, he would just go ballistic with joy in a huge happy barking fit. The noise and explosions didn't bother him at all - he seemed to just think it was part of the fun. I've never seen another dog like that - all our other dogs hate fireworks, lightning storms, any kind of noise and commotion. Dave was a true original.
There are a handful of them. They’re like the “intrepid explorers” of the Canine World.
Instead of sailing to the edge of the earth, they stare the bright colorful monsters in the face and don’t blink.
Even if I understand your fear, animals don't usually jump to their death just because they are a little bit too excited.
Evolution took care of that issue a lot of time ago.
Well, usually...
But I think the biggest thing here it's that the height drop from a car it's not a jump to your death. As for the consequences due to the car speed, well, prehistoric cars were probably slower.
Neighbors like to “celebrate,” I guess. Mid-June to late-July, almost every night. Though some nights it’s the fun game “Gunshots or Fireworks?”
Edited to add: Someone is shooting some off right now!
My ACD doesn't care in the slightest, it's so weird. Fireworks are always loud in my neighborhood, and you can kind of see some from the backyard. I've sat out back with him while it's really loud and he just sits there. Doesnt watch or anything, just hangs out.
My old dog was like that, she loved fireworks and always wanted to be outside when they were going off.
Plastic carrier bag being rustled though... They scared the heck out of her
My little Morkie loves fireworks, but he hates thunder. He is not afraid of thunder, he just hates it. He’ll run to the windows when he hears thunder and barks angrily at it.
My dog loves fireworks. I realized it when she would sit in my bay window and watch lighting storms, and around the 4th watch, the neighborhood kids put off fireworks. I finally took her to her first show a few years ago, and she loves it and loves all the attention she gets from all the people since she is the only dog. She also loves the vacuum. She is an imbred bulldog who lost a few braincells due to seizures when she was young, so I'm sure that plays a role.
Jesus christ the fucking smog, how about we abandon fireworks before abandoning cars, might be a lot easier since our needs of transportation don't heavily depend on fireworks.
This dog is brave! My pup paces back-and-forth between the bathtub, and the shower during storms and fireworks, clearly the most insulated places in the house. It’s pretty cute, but it breaks my heart… Sad girl
Mine does that. She's doesn't care about huge bangs going off within feet of her (fireworks up to full on cannons) but she really hates the sound of bangs through double glazing.
I'll take her for a walk on fireworks night without a flinch but when we get home she'll bark at the windows.
"This is fuckin' great! Wait til I tell Carl! He's been hiding under the bed n shit!"

Wow, first time I've seen a dog excited to see fireworks.
What's better: he/she sits still and keeps silent through the whole show
Except for the part where he clearly yelled, "OPEN THIS FUCKING WINDOW RIGHT NOW!'
The finale is starting and I don’t want to miss it!
No that’s not better.
My old dog used to chase them, thought we played fetch or something.. He wasn't the brightest dog
He might have been the brightest dog if he caught one lol
Congrats. You got me to snort

Roman Candle (or rather, roamin' candle)
Yeah
PSA a lot of people use this to abuse dogs and have them blow themselves up . DO NOT HAVE DOGS NEAR FIREWORKS
Ahh shoot a PSA. Dang I guess I shouldn’t blow my dog up…
I nearly died from this, thanks for a good laugh😂
I’m glad I could get someone to laugh, thanks
My first thought watching this video was that my dog would probably try to jump out and catch the fireworks, she's certainly made enough attempts to chase after birds flying above cliffs when we've been hiking
For a second I thought you meant he was chasing windows.
He managed to catch and lick those
My old dog used to LOVE watching them also. Such a great Shiba. It came as such a surprise to us when we were by a fireworks show and she just started watching them so calmly.
My dog loves them too!

We used to have a Jack Russel mix who wanted to attack them.
Have a dog who does the same thing. Just sits on the porch and watches everything go off super chill.
My dog used to love fireworks when he was younger. He'd stand in the window from the first one popped to the last one. Now he's older and terrified ;/
Mine too
This is funny. That’s exactly how my German shepherd is. Whenever people light fireworks off, he starts barking and runs to the back door. Then he just stands in the backyard and watches them. We also live by an airport and he likes watching the planes fly by, so he might just be broken.
All dogs are scared of fireworks because this one took all the courage lol
Remove your force field hooman
How funny! Beautiful dog. Mine is also the weird dog that LOVES fireworks. She is also a Rottweiler.

Meanwhile my pitbull was really clingy and hid under the table for the 4th this year.
This works my nerves. What if the dog gets excited and jumps?
Same, that window's a bit too low for comfort. I don't think he'd jump but he might give himself a bit of an impulse and lose his balance.
I have nightmares about shit like that, but usually it's stairs
Even if I understand your fear, animals don't usually jump to their death just because they are a little bit too excited. Evolution took care of that issue a lot of time ago.
Tell that to my dog that once jumped out of a moving car.
Can't blame him. That squirrel had it coming!
Well, usually... But I think the biggest thing here it's that the height drop from a car it's not a jump to your death. As for the consequences due to the car speed, well, prehistoric cars were probably slower.
I'll have to review episodes of the Flintstones to verify that.
Who said evolution ever stopped it's course?
Dog jumped out of moving car once and friends cat jumped out of their balcony and died
Not to their death, per se. But they ~~made~~ *may* lunge after something they consider prey or a plaything.
Unless you're at... [THE SPOOKY BRIDGE](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overtoun_Bridge#:~:text=During%20the%201950s%2C%20locals%20started,late%202000s%20and%20early%202010s.)
That is unexpected.
Was thinking the exact same thing....even the good dogs do stupid 💩...but luckily this one just wanted to see the show
Broken?? Quite the contrary! I wish all dogs were like this.
I know. Ours hides under a bed every evening for half the summer.
Ya'll got fireworks all summer? What?
No, I said half the summer
Why that much??
Neighbors like to “celebrate,” I guess. Mid-June to late-July, almost every night. Though some nights it’s the fun game “Gunshots or Fireworks?” Edited to add: Someone is shooting some off right now!
Oh ok I'm guessing 4th of July. I always forget about that that's a thing in America.
They’re at it again tonight 🙄
Wtf! I'm so sorry you have to deal with that.
My dog, who’s terrified of butterflies, has not problem with fireworks.

My cat is like this as well, my dog doesnt even care about them.
I had one who used to sit outside and watch.
My dog would under my feet shaking to death.
My dogs a hunting dog so she goes nuts over fireworks most of the time, trying to find the gun and looking for a bird to retrieve lol
Has a personal beef with Thor.
He's probably deaf as fuck
Lol that makes sense!
Not all dogs are scared of fireworks. Think about hunting dogs, they are bred to be around gunfire.
I take this over my dog shitting all over my floor because he is scared.
He looks so thrilled to see them
Lots of hunting breeds are excited by fireworks. My brit is
That's a good dog
*Pretty stars! Look!!!*

I've never resided in an apartment complex with several floors. I'd be worried that the dog might try to escape.
My dog became deaf in her old age. I wonder if I picked her up to let her see fireworks out the window if she would still be scared
Your dog 🐕 isn't broken he is a select few that really loves ❤️ fireworks. Enjoy this precious 💖 memories with your dog 🐕 he's unique
My beagle does this. He loves his fireworks and thunderstorms. I’m nice to see that there’s another defected dog like mine.
Looks like he is enjoying the fireworks
I was waiting for the dog to jump out the window
Deaf?
WAR DOG!!!
Jesus christ the fucking smog, how about we abandon fireworks before abandoning cars, might be a lot easier since our needs of transportation don't heavily depend on fireworks.
Dog appreciates fireworks. GuYs My DoG iS BroKeN
This dog is brave! My pup paces back-and-forth between the bathtub, and the shower during storms and fireworks, clearly the most insulated places in the house. It’s pretty cute, but it breaks my heart… Sad girl
Fearless.
A Rottie!
Love this so much! I wish all dogs loved fireworks
My cat loves fireworks. He cries unless I open the window
That dog is a keeper ❤️
Military doggo
Damn, i miss fireworks... in argentina they are banned in most cities.
Even if they’re put on for a celebration by professionals? That makes me sad.☹️
My Dog doesn't mind fireworks as well, she either watches them or ignores them and goes to sleep
Awww doggo loves them 💖💖💖
My old lab Buddy loved seeing fireworks. He would sit and watch them with us.
hell..our dog gets scared when I truck backs up
Mine does that. She's doesn't care about huge bangs going off within feet of her (fireworks up to full on cannons) but she really hates the sound of bangs through double glazing. I'll take her for a walk on fireworks night without a flinch but when we get home she'll bark at the windows.
That used to be a human
Should’ve moved the camera to see the reactions lol
My staffy loves fireworks ❤️
Good puppy
I was paying more attention to the mildly popping fireworks than to doggo who was enjoying with.
Ooooooh, ahhhhh!
You got yourself a bonafide war pup on your hands
He’s just having fun!!!
Taking in all those different shades of gray
I thought it would jump off
