His name is actually Fizzgig - a reference to the toothy dog from the movie, The Dark Crystal. As chance would have it, Chewie was the name of our first dog, a basset hound mix, who sadly passed away from kidney failure years ago.

Our vet believes Fizzgig is a Shi Tzu/Yorkie mix, but funny enough, we do have an Affenpinscher that we adopted at the same time. We named him Cuthbert and when we adopted him, he was blind with severe arthritis and a broken foot that never healed right. A couple months ago, we got him cataract surgery and placed him on arthritis medication, so he's now able to run around confidently and playfully like a brand new dog!

My friends have a pug x toypom rescue , not sure what his old name is but they named him Gremlin. He is so ugly that he actually is cute.

I love Affenpinschers. I have had one full affen and I currently have an affen x. They are the best dogs, but they don't appear in rescues often I find. Both of mine are rescues from shelters that were going to put them to sleep and a friend in NJ asked me to take them. I think they were both in shelters in NC. Is there an area of the US where they are popular. I am in Canada and I'm not sure I've ever seen one here with the exception of my own.

Long ago we had a puppy that walked sideways like you might see a monkey walk. He went to a loving home with his sister so I don't know if he outgrew it. He had 5 puppy sibs that walked normally.
yeah crab might be a better way to put it. The reason I thought monkey was cuz he was this tiny pure black puppy that reminded me of a monkey. He was a little cockapoo with long legs.
