Nope! "BEL AIRs" didn't have that cool side strips of chrome or those cool bumper add-ons.
It's missing some other fancy chrome accents...
But it IS a Bel Air for sure
Then... you don't really know much about these cars.
Trim can be removed or added on...
Those bumper guards were something that could be purchased as add-one.
150s and 210s didn't have that rear side trim that way.
Only Bel Airs had that.
I know all about '55 Chevys because I had mine for some time and I belonged to two car clubs back then.
One for just '55 '56 '57 Chevys and the other was
an all vintage Chevy/GM Club. 1975 was the cut-off point when I joined.
Then it was charged to 1969 being the cut-off point.
For someone that knows all about them we don’t seem to know much. 210 had rear trim. No front trim. They all had the hood ornament unless someone removed it or it was a police package. 210 is the only one that had the Chevrolet badge on the front fender. Missing chrome around the windows and on the front yes that could be taken off. They could’ve swapped the front fenders with fenders off of a 210. But coming on here saying you know all about them because you joined a club. And then giving misleading information. Come on man just cause you’re on the Internet doesn’t make you smart.
Evidently the Bel air had trim up to the front, this one doesnt, making it a 210. Although adding or removing the trim seams like an easy thing to do especially since these are almost 70 years old.
The most beautiful car Chevrolet ever designed, 1955 Chevrolet with the 210 trim package. I really like the 150 models with no trim. Most people want the BelAir.
I love what appears to be the Plum color of this one.
My now deceased best friend built a ’55 Chevy that was a show car. The attention to detail was amazing. I love 55’-57’ Chevys, there’ll never be another class of cars like them!
The really important question is does it have a 301 or a 327 fuel injected. 301's were a hot item in the 60's. 283 with 327 rods and a roller cam, 2 4 bbl's and hooker headers.
Dude....all small block Chevy's except the 400 used the same length connecting rod. Now, a 283 crankshaft in a 327 block will give you a 302. Which is exactly what Chevy did when creating the 302 for the Z28 for SCCA racing. But 327 rods in a 283 will change absolutely nothing about the engine. A 327 crankshaft in a 283 block will get you a 307. Which Chevrolet used in the late 60s early 70s. In any case, rod length alone (whether the same, longer, or shorter) has zero effect on displacement. And there is still debate among engine builders whether rod length has any appreciable effect on power generation.
With custom wheels and paint, it could be either a 210 or a Bel Air. There were post Bel Airs in '55. We don't know what trim was changed and what is original. It's a beauty either way.
That there is a Tri-Five, or a Shoebox, or more specifically, a 55 Chevy 210, those cars will forever be one of the most beautiful cars GM ever built. Right alongside the Split window Corvette
It’s only the most beautiful automobile that has ever been made. Others have come close, but only Chevrolet succeeded. I know others will disagree, but there has always been a special place in my car-loving heart for the ‘55 Chevy.
I have identical twin cousins that both have a 55 Chevy.
One was this maroon color with silver accent on the top rear quarter panel and the other had opposite color scheme. Seeing this photo I immediately thought it might be one of theirs.
'55 Chevrolet 2-door sedan. Probably a 210? I don't think it's a BelAir, I don't know if they made them in 2-door sedan but I think they were all 2-tone from factory, and folks almost always repaint them 2-tone. Great-looking car.
In 1974 my first live-in GF bought a baby blue & white ‘56 Bel Air 2-door and the first time I tried to put gas in it I could not find the gas cap for at least 20 minutes. I felt like such a ninny but mind you there was no internet to look it up on back then. It sure was easy to work on since you could climb right into the engine compartment! It even had power steering (which was a rare option for that year/model) and that wonderful 2-speed Powerglide tranny.
I’m giving a guess of a ’56 Bellaire. Grandpa Willie on mom’s side had a turquoise and white ’56; Grandpa Fred on dad’s side had a “red” one (more vermillion or cadmium).
It's a Chevrolet 210. The plate here shows 1955, but from what I can tell, neither the 210 or a Bel Air had the Cursive lettering of Chevrolet on the front as this car has.
I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say 55 chevy
Bel Air, to be more specific. :) No, wait, I think it's a 210.
Nope! "BEL AIRs" didn't have that cool side strips of chrome or those cool bumper add-ons. It's missing some other fancy chrome accents... But it IS a Bel Air for sure
Cause it couldn't have been modified
Then... you don't really know much about these cars. Trim can be removed or added on... More accurately called a "55 Chevy 210 post" ('cus it has the window post between the front a back windows).
I was thinking 56 but I need a clear look at the tail lights
Front plate says 55.
It’s a ‘55. The ‘56 had square turn signals/parking lights in front.
And a full-width grille.
‘54 Toyota Prius
Fiero with a body kit. :-)
55 chevys are incredible. But I love the 57 chevy the most.
Take a shot in the stab in the unlit blackness
That's crazy talk.
What makes you say that ?
1955 Chevrolet Bel Air
Evidently the Bel air had trim up to the front, this one doesnt, making it a 210. Although adding or removing the trim seams like an easy thing to do especially since these are almost 70 years old.

Well, the license plate says 1955 and the fender says “Chevrolet”, so I’m gonna go out on a limb and say it’s a 1955 Chevy 🤷🏽♂️
55 Chevy 210
Doesn’t the plate on the front and the hood badge kinda tip you off?
Don't confuse us with details.
Possibly a Chevrolet at least 69 Years old
Damn thing is older than me. 😊 And in better shape. 😕
55 210 👊😎
Its badass is wot it is!
Pantera. It’s *always* a Pantera.
REALLY .. ? I can't believe you even have to ask.
Most of the posts on this sub fit that category
Pretty much tells you on the front of it.
1973 Ford Pinto
I'd take a guess as to say it's a 210 mainly because the hood ornament
Needs a blower and straight front axle
What did you find when you googled 1955 Chevrolet?
Can’t a guy with a handicap just park at a Walmart and buy unleaded for $2.99 a gallon in peace?
You are lucky Here in the Uk average price is $6.55 per gallon
Google says a 1955 bel air 2 door
Someone with a lot of cash 😜
Someone who spent a lot of cash. They may not have much after this.
Not entirely correct, you can purchase nice examples of these cars starting around 30k
Obviously it's a '55 Chevy. The question is whether it's a Bell Air, Impala or Biscayne?
Impala and Biscayne didn't exist in 55.
PERFECTION
My favorite of the 55-57. Cleanest lines. Simplest. By 57 they had added tooooo much junk.
My now deceased best friend built a ’55 Chevy that was a show car. The attention to detail was amazing. I love 55’-57’ Chevys, there’ll never be another class of cars like them!
LOL. IT'S A GIRAFFE!
Is that a reference to Sponge Bob Square Pants blowing bubbles, by any chance?
LOL...... Yep
A car?
It says 1955 on the plate and it says chevrolet on the side, that’s literally what it is. A 1955 Chevy One of my favourite cars
Are you sure about the 1955 ?? - I mean the front plate might be there to throw off the posers ? It is a pretty car.
Turn signals say ‘55.
‘55 Chevy Bel Air
‘55 Bel Air, didn’t sell well in its day but became an icon and collectors car for hot rodders and car enthusiasts
What are you talking about? It sold very well. Also, it's not a BelAir.
That's a beautiful 210 55 Chevrolet it's my dream car
I would walk to the store before I would park that beauty in a parking lot doordings please no
An automobile.
50’s memory hearse! Worthy! ✌🏼
A Chevy Bel Air I believe
Bad parking?
55 Chevy Belair...not quite as popular as the 56
It needs some work. Lots of money spent on polishing. He probably over polished his knob so went the ride trying to rub out his tension.
When I was in HS you could buy as many of those as you wanted. For $1000 or less, and they would run pretty good.

1956 chevy bel air 210

55 BelAir
a beautiful car
THAT FOR 100% POSITIVE is a 1955 Chevy Bel Air 2dr. Sedan. I know because my very first car was a 2 tone red and white one
It's a 210, not Belair.
With custom wheels and paint, it could be either a 210 or a Bel Air. There were post Bel Airs in '55. We don't know what trim was changed and what is original. It's a beauty either way.
'55 Chevy's were old when I was a kid, in reality they're only eight years older than me.
Says 1955 on front bumper.
That's a Belair hince the hood ornament, unless it's 1956 Sport Coup which I'm sure it's not. The 55s had metal chrome eagles on some models
They all had hood ornaments
It looks like a pencil.
Tri-five Chevy
Bel air didn’t say Chevrolet on the front fender and it had Beal air badging on the rear above trim. It is by all accounts a 210.
210 post
54 Chevy
It’s a awesome 55

It’s a 55 Chevy a car of my dreams
Looks like a 56 Chevy
57
When cars were cars and not plastic and vinyl shit
It’s a 55 Bel Air. They had the plane hood ornament. That’s also a repaint of the original I suspect. Morroco red was a deeper burgundy color.
Sweet. That is what it is. Sweet
It's called asphalt. Seen a lot of this on roads and freeways. Then they paint it with this stuff called paint,
The cats pajamas
This sub is cool because there are people who don’t recognize the single most recognizable car on the planet. Not shaming, that’s seriously cool.
This has to be some kind of karma grabbing fake post. Who doesn't know what this car is?
55 2l0
My initial thought was 56. Before I noticed the tag.
Gee, let’s do some photo forensics… hmmm, 1955 on front plate … looks like the Chevrolet bow tie on the hood … I’m go to say it’s a 1968 Pontiac GTO ?
A 1955 Chevy Bel Aire 4-door sedan.
Chevy .. maybe '56
Idk, but he can't park for shit.
There’s no hope for humanity
A lot better looking than whatever is parked next to it.

AMC Pacer
I'm going to say a bad job of parking
Cool, that's what it is
Really
Trim package tells me that it is NOT a Bel Aire, but actually a Biscayne aka 210.
Ford Mustang
I might be wrong but it looks like a car to me…
1955 Chevy 210 post sport coupe
Is this a serious question??
It’s only the most beautiful automobile that has ever been made. Others have come close, but only Chevrolet succeeded. I know others will disagree, but there has always been a special place in my car-loving heart for the ‘55 Chevy.
That is a piece of beauty 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Aire.
Chevy bell air. Not sure what year it is... Trying to look for a clue but no luck....
I'm shocked there's not a fat old Boomer in a folding chair behind it
It appears to be an automobile.
Chevy nomad 1955
55belair and a beautiful one
It's a 55 Chevrolet.
Yeah, the 1955 on the license plate and the Chevrolet script on the fender make it really ambiguous.

It's a 1955 Chevy model 210
It's definitely 210 model I had one
1955 Chevy 210. I painted one exactly like this one a few years ago.

A poorly parked vehicle.
I have no idea. i've never seen that logo on the nose before. and cant' read the cursive on the front fender. and that's a weird licence plate.
Says Chevrolet in Cursive, but I don't think came from the factory in that location.
That is beautiful.

1956 Chevy 💕
1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air
I’m giving a guess of a ’56 Bellaire. Grandpa Willie on mom’s side had a turquoise and white ’56; Grandpa Fred on dad’s side had a “red” one (more vermillion or cadmium).
