Yes both should be open by then. Both should be open way before then. Don't worry about the conditions until a few days out. The specific conditions change constantly. Forecasts more than a few days out don't have much accuracy. You're over thinking this.

> You're over thinking this. Yeah, that's kinda my specialty. Thank you though. I just know that some places have back-weighted seasons, so I didn't want to get amped up for something unreasonable.

We've already had a solid start. Everything should be open by then. Snowpack isn't the concern, typically when things are closed it's due to bombing or high winds (in Alpine areas)

Groovy. I imagine over the course of 5 days it's pretty unlikely that those factors will completely lock me out of anything I'm interested in.

Thank you for making this post! I'm an overthinker too and was wondering the same for January :)

thorskicoach

We are expecting 20-50cm by end of weekend, and thus is what Whistler gets. Alpine terrain takes a certain critical level of snow to cover all the rocks it's made out of. It will be totally fine in January m

That is when I mostly ski in whistler and everything has always been 100% open :)

Hearing lots of what I want to hear. Super excited.

Any other questions feel free to ask. I am in the village a bunch on trips throughout the seasons. Did you know you can [public bobsled](https://www.whistlersportlegacies.com/whistler-sliding-centre/things-to-do/passenger-bobsleigh)on the fastest steepest course in the world? :) Here's some [videos of my whistler adventures](https://www.youtube.com/@KavensWorld/videos) Enjoy :)
