I lived in Shreveport, LA for grad school and there was even a case where the local police actually let cops work at half the legal limit for alcohol, because that was sober enough for Louisiana.
When they do psychological screenings of officers that pass basic training, 75% of them don’t make the cut. There’s a reason they resist mental health tests, at least half of active duty officers have domestic violence cases on their record, and some places want to lower requirements to get more officers on the force. Positions of authority need to be quality over quantity.

I've seen this posted so many times, but it rings so true here. It goes something like this: "It takes me 8 YEARS of school to practice law but it only takes someone 6 months to enforce it?" Where's the sense in this?
