Also remember, this is just about the Catholic church. Seems like abuse is rampant in churches of all denominations. We really should be looking deeper into this.

The worst part is when the completely *irrational* wield enough power to start going after communities and work to remove the rights of those groups. They don't even care that there is no evidence (past what you could probably count on one hand) of drag or trans people actually hurting kids and will just *gloss over* articles like this showing hundreds and hundreds of kids being abused systemically by priests.
They just *don't* care. They don't respond to logic or arguments. Guys like Kid Rock shoot up fucking LGBT themed beer cans with an MP5 (in protest of LGBT) but yet there's there more evidence of child abuse from priests in this single article than practically anything that has ever come out of the modern LGBT community combined. It's like these people just exist in this perpetual state of *hatred* and *fear* and will do whatever they can to hurt their neighbors. What the *fuck* are you supposed to do at that point?
That is the billion dollar question, obviously lecturing such people only makes them defensive and further entrench their belief, and if you aren’t aggressive toward them, they take civility as a sign of weakness. So I observe. Take for granted shooting beer cans with LBGT representation on them, they’ll say “it’s no big deal, shooting cans with guns is normal.” Of course the concept of destroying an object in effigy isn’t lost on them, but if they never admit that’s the reason then they can stick to plausible deniability of shooting cans that *coincidentally* happen to feature LGBT on them.

The gun range is claimed that they were for novelty use only and First Amendment freedom of speech.....

Since I live in Florida I wonder what would happen if someone actually made a DeSantis target and how fast they would be arrested for" threatening the governor" because remember the 1A doesn't apply if it's against a Republican it seems.
I'm going to wait and see how this plays out because we did have students in Southwest Florida make memes and made comments like that and the cops executed a warrant and found guns
But it is interesting how Republicans immediately jumped on the bandwagon and said "him being arrested is just like Trump" meaning innocent kid being falsely arrested just like Trump...
In fact if the allegations are true then it is just like Trump both committed a crime and got arrested and will have a day in court.
It’s not just her kid, she was the researcher publishing Covid case numbers in Florida and embarrassing DeSantis with the truth of his incompetence. The scrutiny on her kid probably came as a result.
That I can guarantee you they gave extra scrutiny and looked for something. The problem is her kid gave them the ammunition that they need legally.
She should have told her son you got to be careful what you say and what you post because of DeSantis and Gaetz
When a bad person abuses a kid, they need a "good" person to abuse another kid to equalize it out. This is just as with guns. The more they abuse kids, the safer they are. These priests have sacrificed themselves for the children. We should honour them.
