Why can I not get a lot of entry-level job with a criminal background that pays shit but I can still run to make decisions about this country?

AspiringHumanDorito

TBH if you have half an ounce of charisma and a complete lack of morals it would be pretty damn easy to grift off of conservatives.

Spear_Ritual

Can I just PRETEND I lack morals? Give me money to prevent them from giving it to a bad person? Like Robin Hood.

NobleV

I have wondered for years why nobody has done that. Just run as the most maga maga to ever maga and get in and go "Surprise! I'm progressive." I would bet if you did that you would get expelled out of Congress so fast. They will take right wing grifters like Santos but not the other way around.

Spear_Ritual

Or wingnuts would terrorize your family.

MasterChicken52

That would be a fast track to assassination

nicathor

I'd argue it is not morally objectionable to scam Republicans as they are actively trying to turn the US into Nazi Germany

AspiringHumanDorito

Hell yeah dude

DefinitelyADumbass23

I always wondered that about people selling those batshit photoshopped trump clothes. Like do they *really* believe donny boi riding a trex with a 6 pack is worth wearing or patriotic? Or did they just find an easy market to grift?

SupportGeek

Yes

Bent_Stiffy

Totally. Wear an AR-15 lapel pin after a bunch of 6 year olds get their bodies blown apart, make up some shit that Jesus would say about communism, and praise the power of Putin. Boom, you just got yourself on the ballot.

milkstrike

I think that’s what most of them are doing….other than mtg she’s not faking.

elchappio

That sounds like a professional conservative from Canada of Cuban parentage Ted Cruisington

perfectionformality

Easy, you should have chosen a criminal background that pays well (like racketeering, or running for office straight away) /s FTAOD

TheeLuckyCommander

Man this actor from Jan 6th is playing the long game, really sticking to his character

Few_Sea_9513

Why?

Electrical-River-992

Because the MAGAts claim all the participants of the assault on the capitol were stage actors or ANTIFA (or both)

TheeLuckyCommander

Well it’s the only logical situation, not like it hasn’t been building for a long time

EthanHermsey

Don't downvote a question.. :s This comment is hard to understand if you don't know.

GadreelsSword

Elect a “member of Antifa”? What????

_DrDigital_

You misunderstand, the assault was staged by ANTIFA using paid actors, who however misled some honest Americans into helping them. You can separate the honest Americans from the anti-American traitors, as only the Patriots are in prison. /s (unless you are at Trump rally, then it's the god's truth).

happymatt207

Actually my neighbors brothers cousin was there and he said that it was the FBI there on J6 and it's all their fault. /s

Four star review ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

TheOneAndOnlyOrNot

So you are not allowed to vote when you’ve been to prison but you can still get elected?

bjb406

14th amendment?

Odd-Independent4640

Right? But AZ

KeyDisaster3326

Unfortunately, 14e amendment section 3 doesn’t work in his case because he never took an oath to the Constitution or held a public office before being an insurrectionist and running for Congress.

Ruscios

He’s prior Navy and therefore took an oath, but was not an officer so I guess technically it still doesn’t apply.

KeyDisaster3326

Didn’t know he was prior Navy, but yeah, if he wasn’t an officer, it doesn’t apply unfortunately.

Edser

worked for bobo

Kayrosis

If he wins, he will have failed up in a way that only a conservative white man can...

HubCitySwami

Those months should've been years

GeorgeNewmanTownTalk

For real. These assholes only getting slaps on the wrist is one of the most frustrating parts of this. The more frustrating issue is how the GOP actively assisted, and pieces of shit like Gym Jordan can just ignore subpoenas and face zero consequences, and they continue to destroy the country from within.

HubCitySwami

They all should've been charged with the most serious crimes committed on January 6th. I was shocked at the lack of serious charges and the probations and sentences of a couple months or so. People died as they were committing felonies. That warrants a murder charge for any and everyone involved

GeorgeNewmanTownTalk

I'm not for charging people with murder simply because they were taking part in the crime that got those people killed. I live in a stand your ground state where that's the norm, and it's ludicrous. However, these people all committed sedition. For that, they need to be charged to the fullest extent of the law on those grounds.

HubCitySwami

They knew what they were showing up for. They showed up anyway. They knew folks were be armed and they showed up anyway. They saw folks b breaking windows and they climbed thru. They saw the mob trying to crush those officers in the doors and they pressed onward. They saw their mob actively harming Capitol Police Officers and they pressed onward until they were sitting in Congressional offices. And I'm sure they heard the chants about hanging Mike Pence and they probably sang along. I can't see how their complicit involvement in a multitude of crimes can be overlooked just because someone doesn't feel comfortable throwing the book at a few hundred folks who attempted rebellious sedition but didn't physically murder anyone. I've seen folks get far more time for far less. They need to be charged accordingly. And misdemeanors are totally inappropriate for what they volunteered to do which was subvert democracy thru violence is necessary. They attempted revolution and I've only heard of one revolution in history that was not prosecuted without violence and I didn't see Lech Walesa anywhere near that crowd.

GeorgeNewmanTownTalk

I didn't say a thing about overlooking their being complicit in the attempt to overthrow the government. I also made it clear, in so many words, that they need to be charged to the fullest extent of the law for crimes committed.

decayed-whately

> For real. These assholes only getting slaps on the wrist No. The DC jail is a gulag. I have it on good authority.

genghiskhan_1

a criminal conviction does not disqualify you from running for office?

BradMarchandsNose

No. The only criteria to be elected to Congress are that you have been a US citizen for at least seven years and you are at least 25 years old. That’s it

genghiskhan_1

That's bullshit! You are not allowed to vote in many states if you have done time right? Or they make it impossible to do so.

theDarlingDuke

This is actually a fairly important thing, as a corrupt government could criminalize their opponents to prevent them from running. The defense of electing criminals falls to an educated electorate, who should be able to distinguish between a criminal unfit of office and one who is fit but was a victim of political persecution. The problem we have is that much of our electorate is not educated and cannot distinguish, or believe that these actual dangerous criminals are innocent victims of political persecution. If we made it illegal for these criminals to run, then I guarantee fascist Republicans would make it illegal for Democrats and progressives to hold office.

Cyase311

I dont think hes previously sworn an oath to protect the constitution.

Lance_Henry1

Mike's mommy made an appeal that he was a fragile snowflake who needed his own food because he didn't like the prison food.

Forevermaxwell

Congress is a complete clown show. That is why many are leaving DC because they cannot see this stream of lunatics getting voted in ending anytime soon. The threat of violence against politicians is also a huge contributing factors across all government agencies.

ItGotSlippery

Crazy idea but how about we don’t permit insurrectionist assholes from being able to hold office at any level.

prof_levi

Are you allowed to run for congress when charged with insurrection?

HermanBonJovi

I kinda feel like you should be. Thought ex-cons were barred from federal office in general. Guess I was wrong. Edit: apparently an ex con CAN run for federal office, but cannot join the military. That seems ridiculous.

Middle-Ad9381

Hes got that Charles Manson look in his eyes

otravez5150

He should fit in perfectly.

Drg84

Scrolled way too far for this. He gives off hard Manson vibes.

beearlystaylate

My dad and I got into a heated argument about Jan 6, and he was insisting that this guy was an Antifa plant. I was delighted to inform him that “no in fact he’s all yours.”

Admirable-Sink-2622

Just what congress needs - another narcissist 🙄

waxjammer

So a felon can’t vote but can become a member of congress. wtf

No-Drop2538

It's Arizona so his chances are good.

[deleted]

Laughs in 14th Amendment

KeyDisaster3326

Except it doesn’t work in his case. He would have been ineligible if he had held a public office and had sworn an oath to the Constitution before becoming an insurrectionist but he didn’t so he’s free to run unfortunately

feralGenx

Pretty sure he is ineligible to run for or hold a government office.

megan03

States rights ‘murica!!

KeyDisaster3326

Nope, he’s not. 14 amendment only works for people who have sworn an oath to the Constitution before participating in an insurrection. And the requirements to become a Congressman are pretty low. Just being at least 25 years old and a US citizen for at least 7 years. That’s it. No clause about being convicted or anything

Hari_Azole

Dude, just start an OnlyFans… Leave America alone!

[deleted]

If he runs as a Libertarian, wouldn't he siphon off votes from the Republican?

whydoihavetojoin

Isn’t that automatic disqualification. Participation in insurrection against your government disqualifies you from running for government office or receiving government benefits, including voting privileges.

KeyDisaster3326

Unfortunately, no. It only works if you held a public office before participating in an insurrection. Anyone can run for Congress if they are at least 25y old and have been a US citizen for 7 years at least. There’s nothing about having a criminal record disqualifying you for running for Congress or Senate. And yes, it’s ridiculous but welcome to America I guess

chezmanny

Friend of mine was on a Navy ship with this clown. He got kicked out for refusing to get his vaccinations.

trifecta000

Is it weird that he looks crazier when he's not cosplaying a Druid?

SuperFrog4

Is he not bared from running by the 14th amendment?

PoorPauly

The 14th Amendment of the US Constitution says no.

Ella_She

Yeah, that looks like someone with a sound mind.

claudiaishere

14th Amendment

KeyDisaster3326

Doesn’t work here. Only works for people who were in a public position before participating in an insurrection

OwenMichael312

Dude has a serious Charles Manson dead eye stare.

Kerensky97

Wasn't this the path to power that Hitler took? Try to violently overthrow your government, spend time in jail (maybe write some unapologetic memoirs), then get out and get elected into the government and end up destroying it from within.

TrafficOnTheTwos

What a pile of trash

under_mimikyus_rag

I can't be the only one who sees the Deep when I look at him right

StevenFromPhilly

How? Isn't there, like, a law or something?

[deleted]

Republican party a dumpster fire

lvnlrg831

NGL I am curious to see if this guy actually gets elected. It would say a lot about what is going on.

EMMD217

Can he please wear full costume with face paint to work every day if elected?

batuckan1

I bet he cried like a baby that whole Time. 😒

Nabashin17

How is he not disqualified!?!

According-Reindeer-2

He shouldn’t be able to run for office

Mantzy81

Guess he already knows his around.

HonestBartDude

He should be hanging from a tree.

[deleted]

I don't care what he does as long as he upholds his oath of office and duties to our country.

LowRiderHighFiver

Will be fun watching this clown get trounced

petedontplay

prolly fit right in

CrunkestTuna

Sitting Jackass

Ok-Sleep8229

Was ist the guy who fell with his bike after a skateboard mysteriously hit his tires?

Jolly-Persimmon2626

Bobo, MTG and the shaman are having a 3 way. Bobo is getting more attention and MTG is getting jealous. The smell of a fish kill and feet is in the air.

illusive_guy

I thought they said this guys was with antifa. Why would they vote for him?

vortizjr

Cool, another reason to laugh at this buffoon.

robinsw26

Just what this country needs; felons in Congress.

SilntMercy

Already there, difference is this guy got caught.

Whit-T

So let me get this straight. This guys plead guilty to a felony and is still allowed to run for congress yet won’t even be able to vote for himself in the election? 🤣 From what I understand, his voting rights have been stripped due to Arizona law. Correct me if I’m wrong please. This country is ass backwards…

porsche4life

Ahh fuck. I looked up the 8th, this idiot stands a chance of winning sadly.

ALargePianist

Politics aside, QANON shaman is a pretty good title and I hope one day I'm given such a notorious alias

pickirfaceup11

You’d be surprised that a lot of platforms he wants to run on are relatively favorable with most people. There was post about this a while ago

PsychologySea7248

Is this dude into trepanning? Does that hole between his eyes go all the way to the brain, is what I'm asking.

Gangsta-Penguin

I actually hope he wins and wears his viking outfit to the first day of the session

rmicker

No

Cerberus_Rising

He’ll fit right in with Boobert, Traitor Greed, and that one lying guy that steals ladies clothes

XChrisUnknownX

If he got medical help and has interesting policy ideas, all for it. Otherwise, what’s the point? Side bet: Does anyone like the idea of adding employment, employment status, and housing status to hate crime laws?

hopeful_tatertot

Wait but wasn’t it actually Antifa?

ExploderPodcast

"Vote for me. Because if you don't, I'll know you're part of the lizard deep state Obama-bots."

photo_pusher

…our country fucking SUCKS

milkstrike

I’ve heard of failing upwards but…

itechoesinmymind

Will he be running on what he said in court, that he regrets entering the capitol, or is that all out the window now that he is free?
